Vegas (4 Viewers)

My wife sweet talked me into getting two tickets to "O" at the Bellagio. For the price, there better be sharks with ####### laser beams.eh, that's what I get for bringing rice to China in the first place.
"O" is entertaining enough for guys. The women love it. I saw it last year, had seats down low but we were off to the side and could still see everything very good.

I saw Zumanity last year when we went to Vegas. Pretty good show with lots of boobies. And don't waste your money going to see the Price is Right show at Ballys.

I'll be in Vegas playing poker from Thursday night through Sunday this coming weekend. If anyone feel the need to talk football and have a beer hit me with a PM.

Going to Vegas with another couple and trying to decide whether to stay at Harrah's or Bally's. I'm leaning toward Bally's, but looking for input. The last few times I've been have not spent much time mid strip. I tend to hang out pretty much where I am staying so keep that in mind. Sportsbook is an important factor. Last two trips were at MGM and the Nugget, downtown.

Probably more to do over by Harrah's than Bally's. They have outdoor music/food over there plus Harrah's has the dueling piano bar. Could be wrong but I don't think either has a stellar sports book.

I heard Bally's had a decent sportsbook. As lame as it may sound, I don't want to have to walk across to the Mirage. So far looks like Harrah's is leading though...

Bally's is the traditional bowl showing the ponies on most days - not really a great place for the tourney IMO. They opened a room next door for BBall tourney and it helps, it is way down in the back of the mall heading to the monorail - not the most convenient of places although you can get outside quickly for some fresh air(which is important with all the smoke). Harrah's is a small room like a pub- good service for normal events - it is comfortable with some nice chairs around and they also have opened up a room to add space. The smoke at Harrahs is rough sometimes and not my favorite. I am sure both are probably making arrangements for more space and would call ahead to see what they are doing.

Ill be in Vegas this weekend for a wedding. The wedding is at the Ritz off of Flamingo...Has anyone EVER heard or been to this place? The couple getting marrried reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton. I can get a suite for $99 there with there discount. Has anyone ever stood at the Hilton? The feedback here determines if I stay there

Haven't stayed, but reviews suggest the Hilton is really nice. Some chick from my law school swears by staying there. And what time is softball next Sunday?

Thank you God for fun neighbors.

I've stayed at the Hilton - it's not bad. There are several different types of rooms - I'm a Diamond HHonors so I have usually gotten the nicest rooms - flat screen, killer comfortable beds, decent room size, free buffet(and a good one). I like the casino because it isn't gigantic and the people working there are very nice. Drawbacks are the elevators(of course it's that way at most of the big places) - it's has a small pool with some slow service(cabana prices aren't bad though - but it's not the Flamingo or Hard Rock) Diamond members can use the spa for free. It's a bit older crowd. Of course the other drawback is that it is off the strip - the monorail stops right at the hotel so it isn't hard to get in and around, cabs always are there if you want to get somewhere fast and it's easy going the back way into the strip hotels. It can be busy when there is a big show at the convention center. Sometimes I like the off strip and sometimes it is a drawback. It is close to my favorite restaurant - Lotus of Siam - great Thai, maybe the best Thai in all of the US.

To the beer drinkers out there, are there any spots on the strip that have an interesting tap selection?
honestly the only place with what i'd consider a nice selection is the burger bar at mandalay

WOW just back back from Vegas. It was INSANE this weekend. I guess Vegas really does party for St.Patty's day. I ended up staying in a suite at the Hilton. I HIGHLY recommened it. I paid $129 and the room was AMAZING. If your looking for a good spot for the night life you have to check out club Rok at the NYNY. Its brand new and lets just say the scenery there is off the charts

Just got the green light to join some friends in a primarily poker trip in late April.

Still need to book flight and rooms, think the early lead for those guys is the Mirage for some reason.

Just so happens its over the weekend of the NFL draft, any good draft activities go on out there?

Haven't been out since Jan 08, anything new and exciting over the last year to look into?

Wow,

Having a hard time finding flights in May for under 240.00 R/T

I thought with the economy, they airlines would be giving flights away

Good show
I liked it. I also sat two rows behind William Shatner and saw Michael Jackson on his way in to the next show (this was shortly after it opened around 10 years ago or so)

Heading out in June and deciding whether to stay at Bally's or the Flamingo. Cheapest places I found near the center of the strip. $60/night. Anyone prefer one over the other?

Leaving next Sunday for my first ever trip there. Wife booked us Sunday-Wednesday (Thursday morning red-eye) with flight, hotel at TI and 2 free cirque du soleil tickets for $650. I'm pumped and this thread will be read in its entirety soon.
I booked the same 'free Cirque tickets deal' for May. $700 at Mandalay Bay. Which show did you get into? We were told 'O' wasn't avaialble, so we booked 'Love'. We called and got tickets in like row DD in the balcony, and the two other couples we are going with called later that day and got tickets in the 4th row. I called back and they said the tickets weren't exchangable, and that their must have been multiple cancellations for those seats to open up. Oh well, I guess they're still free.
Wife got tickets to Love and it was pretty dang good. I enjoy music and the Beetles is obviously about as good as it gets. The Cirque stuff is crazy like usual but fun. We both enjoyed it. Tickets were near the top but there really isn't a bad seat.

Anyone checkout the Green Door? Cabbie was telling me about it last night, I am intrigued, $80 to get in, no liquor. Girls at the strip club said that I should not go (sounds like two thumbs up to me). How sketchy is it? Cabbie said he can drive me for free from my hotel.
