Ok... Season is just over a week away and we have had the chance to see most of the players hit the field in some sort of pre-season play. So what's the craziest event, statistic, or play to occur in the 2008 NFL season?

Here is your chance to put it down in writing so that in January you can take your minute of fame and tell everybody "Told you so!"

I will throw out the first couple:

J. Russell leads the AFC West with TDs thrown.

D. Mason tops 1300 yards and 9 TDs.

M. Harrison retires mid-season.

S. Smith (Car) gets suspended by the league late in the year.

Just got done making my player prop bets for the year. Aquib Talib as DROY (40 to 1), and Joey Galloway leading the league in recieving yards (100 to 1). I would say those are pretty crazy, especially the Galloway one.

I can almost guarantee you this doesn't happen. I'll throw my crazy prediction out there and say they finish in the top 7.

Cutler will throw 30+ TDs.

AP will score 25+ TDs.

BMarsh will go for 1200+ and 12+ despite missing 2 games.

Warner will be a top 5 QB.

O'sullivan finnishes a top ten qb

Warner finnishes a top 5 qb

LT is not a top 20 back but due to knee

AP is not a top 20 back and it's not because of injury unlike LT

LJ is back in the top 5

Favre league MVP and leads Jets to Super Bowl

NE sucks and doesn;t make playoffs

nfc super bowl team will be a surprise!

Jaguars win the AFC South.

A "healthy" Cutler leads the Broncos to the playoffs.

Tony Romo wins league MVP (and a Super Bowl).

O.K., crazy stuff?

Troy Smith and Ray Rice lead Ravens to AFC North division title.

Rams win the NFC West.

RBs Rudi Johnson and Ahman Green get cut and can't find work.

Vince Young gets benched mid-season for Kerry Collins (not so crazy).

Seahawks, Eagles, Giants, Packers, Browns, and Titans all miss the playoffs.

Sidney Rice is a top 10 WR.

Jason Witten leads the league in receptions.

Cleveland Browns finish as the top D/ST.

Thomas Jones is a top 10 RB.

Matt Jones goes over 1,000 yard receiving.

The Pat's start 4-4 and than only lose one more game the rest of the regular season.

Between LT, SJAX, Westbrook and Peterson only one will play 16 games.

Kiffin and Linehan will both be fired in season.

1. LT2 doesn't finish the season.

2. Merriman's knee explodes and the bone fragments hit LT2 in the eye and possibly ends both players careers.

3. Lamont Jordan is the #1 RB on the Patriots by game 4.

4. Marshawn Lynch is the #1 RB in the league.

5. Colt Brennan wins OROY!

6. Pat's don't make the playoffs and follow the "Losing in the Superbowl Curse"

7. Sigmund Bloom pulls a hammy halfway through the season, Cecil Lammey totes the rock but wears down

towards the end of the season with an increased workload going from 2.5 minutes to 5 minutes.

8. Sigmund Bloom returns late season and both he and Cecil post respectable numbers helping us all get deep into the postseason.

Lammey and Bloom: The Thunder and Lightning backfield of Fantasy Football!!

You know the.....

Arizona Cardinals: Edge keeps the job and vast majority of the carries, Hightower Hysteria is the source of much thread bumping next summer.

Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan starts 16 games, the Falcons are very happy with his progress.

Baltimore Ravens: I got nothing.

Buffalo Bils: Posluzny goes to the Pro Bowl, and gets DMVP consideration.

Carolina Panthers: Delhomme gets Comeback Player of the Year, and Steve Smith doesn't punch any more teammates.

Chicago Bears: Rashied Davis emerges as a WR, and Devin Hester disappoints, both offensively, and on returns.

Cincinnatti Bengals: The team does NOT implode. They score a lot of points, allow a lot of points, and Henry and Perry have nice seasons.

Cleveland Browns: Derek Anderson starts all 16 games, and Brady Quinn starts making noise after the season.

Dallas Cowboys: PacMan makes a few plays, but is overall not the shutdown corner fans were expecting.

Denver Broncos: Cutler goes to the Pro Bowl, Ahmad Hall leads the team in rushing, Nate Jackson finishes the season as the starting TE, and fantasy owners finally get it together, and lynch Shanahan.

Detroit Lions: Kevin Smith is a disappointment, and neither Calvin nor Roy top 10 TDs.

Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers is lost for the year with an injury before week 4. (Not rooting for this, just a prediction)

Houston Texans: Chris Brown starts the last 5 games of the year, and goes nuts, leading some undeserving, lucky slobs to a fantasy title.

Kansas City Chiefs: Tyler Thigpen is inserted into the lineup after week 10.

Miami Dolphins: Ted Ginn will, more than once, attempt to fair catch a Pennington pass.

Minnesota Vikings: Sidney Rice emerges as everyone's favorite "Next great WR". Soon after this, he does something boneheaded in the offseason.

New England Patriots: Maroney finishes as a top 8 back. Rodney Harrison has a great year.

New Orleans Saints: Shockey is a massive fantasy disappointment.

New York Giants: Steve Smith takes the starting job from Amani Toomer, and becomes Eli's security blanket.

New York Jets: Calvin Pace ties for the NFL lead in sacks.

Oakland Raiders: Darren McFadden throws a TD pass in one of the Chargers games.

Philadelphia Eagles: McNabb stays healthy, and the Eagles are in the division hunt all season.

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers take a step back this year, as O-Line trouble hurts them vs. good teams. they continue to kick the crap out of bottom feeders.

St. Louis Rams: Chris Long has a quiet first year, but Marc Bulger has a big second half.

San Diego Chargers: Jamal Williams misses more time with injury, and the Chargers run game suffers. Cromarite gets 3 picks all year. In a related development, Quentin Jammer has 70 tackles.

San Francisco 49ers: All three QBs start games, and the 49ers lose 12 games.

Seattle Seahawks: A true RBBC, as neither Seahawk back becomes a legit fantasy starter.

Tampa Bay Bucs: Gaines Adams gets 10 sacks. Antonio Bryant is 2nd in receptions.

Tennessee Titans: Vince Young bounces back--all the way to 13 TD passes.

Washington Redskins: By the end of the year, people are talking about Jason Campbell as a potential Pro Bowler.

:sehorn:

This Patriots talk is insane. They have the softest schedule in the history of the NFL. Grogan could come out of retirement and lead that team to a 10-6.

Pats go 15-0 and lose to the Bills on the road.

1. Jets win the division

2. Calvin Johnson becomes a top 3 dynasty WR

3. Willie Parker and Edgerrin James both are busts

4. Tim Hightower lives up to the hype

5. Pierre Thomas leads the Saints in rush attempts

6. Kitna ,Favre and Warner finish in the top 10 as fantasy QBs

7. Frank Gore finishes as the top RB in ppr leagues

8. Roddy White finishes with over 80 rec 1200yds and 6tds

9. Dustin Keller finishes as a top 8 fantasy TE

10. Pennington leads the Dolphins to a 7 win season

1) Gregg Jennings has only one TD.

2) Pennington has a better year than Favre.

3) Manning does not throw 20 TDs.

4) Hester gets removed from KR duty.

FWP scores double digit TDs, and Steelers go 6-0 vs AFC North to win division with 10-6 record.

Steve Slaton wins oroy and the Texans get to the AFC Championship game.

Patriots go 8-8 and miss the playoffs. :lmao:

I realize the OP said craziest and wild predictions, but are you expecting some mid-season realignment?

1) Marshawn Lynch will be #1 RB and NFL MVP

2) ADP and SJax will not finish as Top 10 RBs

3) Willie Parker will finish season a Top 10 RB

4) Matt Schaub will be a Top 5 QB

5) Packers will miss playoffs and go 6-10 or 7-9

6) DeSean Jackson will be the slot WR for Eagles and put up great numbers.

7) Ricky Williams will have over 1,000 yards and 10 TDs.

8) Antonio Gates will not be in the Top 10 for TEs

9) Ray Rice will be starting in Baltimore by mid-season.

10) The Washington Redskins will win the Super Bowl.

Ill make only one but i think it s the crazyest.

SA gets signed by Houston week 4 , starts playing week 6 and goes for 1300Yds - 12 TDs in 10games .

The Texans win the Super Bowl

SA is the MVP of the game

Leon Washington becomes the Jets starting RB before the end of the year

Ted Ginn finishes in the top 15 for receivers

If Warner stays healthy, he will be a top 5 QB joining Cutler in this group. (Either Brees, Manning, Brady or Romo won't be there)

Jonathan Stewart will clearly be the best rookie RB as he averages over 5 YPC.

Ronnie Brown will be the best playoff running back this year.

Some unlikely outcomes that I think are more likely than most expect:

- David Thomas leads NE TEs in receptions and yards

- Jerome Felton leads DET RBs in TDs

- Dustin Keller defies the rookie TE learning curve (because he's a WR) and finishes in the top 10 fantasy TEs

- Houston's leading rusher at year's end isn't even on their roster right now

- Justin Fargas rushes for more yards than Darren McFadden

- Andre Hall rushes for more yards and TDs than Selvin Young

- Aaron Stecker is again the NO RB to own down the stretch

4. Nate Burleson will finish in the top 15 WRs

5. The Dolphins and Falcons will win a combined 12 games or more

6. Greg Olsen will be the Bears leading receiver

7. Marshawn Lynch will finish in the top 6 RBs

8. Larry Johnson and Frank Gore will not be top 10 RBs

9. The Eagles defense/ST will be in the top 5, while the Patriots will fail to reach the top 10

13. Julius Peppers will have at least 12 sacks

14. Kevin Smith will finish in the top 20 RBs

15. Selvin Young as the starting RB won't make it past week 7

16. A Dallas WR, other than Patrick Crayton will finish 3rd on the team in receptions behind Owens and Witten

17. Kevin Walter will finish in the top 30 WRs

18. Brandon Jacobs, Earnest Graham and Edgerrin James will finish outside of the top 20 RBs

19. Santonio Holmes and Heath Miller will combine for 17 TDs
