My Stock Value Strategy Starts Now (1 Viewer)

We had everyone on the PRGN train. 110,000 shares. That's borderline insanity. Hell, we were the ones holding the stock up....lol.

And what a great ride it was. A year later and this stock is in even better shape in my opinion. The rest of the shippers are struggling a bit and these guys have ratcheted down spending while hoarding cash. They diluted twice to build a war chest and are now in a position to add ships. These guys really get it. I start the year with 6,000 shares of PRGN and for the first time in a long time, I am not that anxious to move them. The BDI has not reported in a week plus so my plan is to really see what happens there. I am fully confident though that PRGN is a stock we will all want to be in again as we approach earnings. They are a machine.

Copy and pasted this from the Market Wizards game at investopedia. Sorry about format as it was cut and pasted. Tried to clean it up a bit. This was started in feb/march of last yr (2009). Company name, shares(just haphazardly bought, no significance) price purchased at, todays price, todays value, and total profit/loss, and lastly percentage gain or loss. Might be interesting for some to look at so i figured i would post it. LVS up an astounding 900%. I might have won last yrs contest with that bad boy. It is also ranked as the 16th best trade in this contest. FAZ/FAS was fun to track. My shorts of the shorts worked well too. Ouch to neomedia and 1 million shares.....lol.

these were some wild times. Selling everything in 2008 was my greatest move. But some of the trades I/we made in this thread were ridiculous. The really crazy thing about it is most of the stocks we were most active in are bankrupt or fractions of what they were when we traded them.

PRGN had a ten to one split

FEED was a scam and went bankrupt

PAL did go as high as 6-7 but has pulled way back to sub $1 with the rest of the miners

I still own some SFEG in my think or swim account. No reason to sell now. If it goes to zero, no biggie.

Yeah we were all kicking around the dry shippers.

Reaching back to bump this and ask a question. Anyone still holding old SFEG? Thinking about just taking the tax loss. Obviously the cash value isn't much so can just ride it out but haven't seen any news lately.

Anyone remember trading AgFeed?  Good news, if you lost $ you're getting it back.
