Do You Facebook? (3 Viewers)

Made a huge Facebook blunder last week. A few of my old buddies were over and we were going through Facebook. I pulled up a girl I used to date/do and was checking out her Facebook page. I click on her husband from her page..the guy is a complete jealous tool..the guy fronted me off at a reunion 5 years ago because I was talking to his wife and they ended up in a huge argument and leaving. When I go to click off the page I accidently hit the add as a friend to his page.
If you go into your privacy settings, and add his name under block list, it will take away the friend request. You can then un-block him (if you want) and everything will be back to normal.
People you have blocked will not be able to interact with you on Facebook. Any Facebook friendships or relationships you currently have with that person will be broken. Note that blocking someone may not prevent all communications and interactions in applications, and does not extend to elsewhere on the Internet.

lol

With the recent changes, friends have gotten in their feeds "Mystery Achiever commented on (Person They're Not Friends With)'s post. Is there something I can adjust in Privacy Settings to stop that? I never get those notifications for other people, so I'm think maybe only the "receiver" can control? At least two of them have been about photos, so maybe it has to do with the privacy settings on the album?

It probably doesn't even prevent people from talking to you in real life. Why even bother?
My college student cousin posted this on Facebook today:

I really hate that time of year when I make an appointment to get prodded and then told that I still don't have gonorrhea.
My comment:
Facebook: the magical land without privacy or boundaries.
It really sounds like she wants to have gonorrhea.

Anyone else having problems with Bejeweled Blitz? Some friends are not showing up on my leader board and I'm not showing up on some of theirs (actually shows up as score 0).

Has anyone been sent a friend request from a prostitute yet? I have now been e-mailed five friend requests from beautiful women. All of them have only male friends. All of them post tee hee profiles that allude to "partying" and "hooking up."

Sweet!

I've gotten these. Very good indication when you have no friends in common and they invited you through "Friend Finder".Oh, and usually their wall is public, so you can see what they've actually posted. Most of the time, it's a site where you can see her naked... if you pay.

People actually pay for porn?

I don't. But when I checked out one of the sites, it asked for my credit card info. I just clicked back on my browser.

Why do you need to take your page down? Are you not able to "Ignore" the request and deny it?

I have not always been able to Ignore and deny. Several people have been able to add themselves without even asking.

:lmao: Add themselves to your friends list without sending friend requests?

He'd still get the email "Da Guru added you as a friend on Facebook"

Is it really that tough to ignore things? People are way too wound up over stupid things in this world. I chatted up one of the cam whores for about 10 minutes..waiting for the link to the pics. Turns out she is a terrible salesperson and I sent all sorts of buying signals, but it took forever to get that link out of her so I could then laugh at her.

Can you see who is visiting your page most frequently and stuff? I just read a post from a friend basically apologizing for frequenting this chick's page. Pretty funny. She's married and felt like he was stalking a bit. :(

I'm pretty sure you can't tell. I know of facebook applications that measure how frequent check your page, but that requires both the stalkee and the stalker to have the application. So as long as the stalker doesn't have the application, i have no idea how that married chick would figure it out.

When are we going to be friends, Franky?

Lots of fake outrage about some rules change in mafiawars today. Animals fighting or something. We block this crap for a reason mainly because we don't give a ####.

Yet you dug up this thread to post about it. :shrug:Saw an interview with the Zynga CEO yesterday. They have annual rev of ~ $400mil, which is mostly from sales of "virtual goods" in the games.

I play Mafia Wars and I haven't seen anything to be outraged about. Then again, I'm a very casual player. I have some friends who play these game religiously.

Don't know if this is what culdeus is referring to, but I saw some complaints in the Forum about them cross-promoting games too much, ie animals from Farmville going MW. THough I haven't seen any pet tigers or attack cobras in FV! I like both games as good distractions and a way to keep up with friends.
