I agree - I like him mid/late in the second, but there are a handful of other WRs I like as well/better than him. Maybe Wayne will "rebound" nicely, but his YPC and TD numbers will both need to improve and I'm not seeing it. Overall I don't feel like I have a good grasp of what Indy is really going to do this year yet. The reason I went with Forte over DeAngelo and LaDainian (the only others I considered there) is because: 1) there's nobody who can split carries with him in Chicago right now. Stewart (and Michael Goodson) and Sproles are threats from a FF point of view2) Pass catching. I really like RBs who catch a lot of passes. Cutler's numbers don't historically support a lot of dump-off or designed passes to the RB, but then again you can't base ANYTHING on the DEN backfield from 2008. LT has pass catching (and passing!) but DeAngelo definitely does not. 3) Offense on the rise. The Bears should have more scoring chances and spend more time on the field. Cutler doesn't score TDs on the ground, either (3 in 2 years, vs 5 for the Bears QBs last year). 4)

4.04 Pictus Cat - Tony Romo - QB8 - DAL/6

6.04 Pictus Cat - Santana Moss WR32 WAS/8

10.04 Pictus Cat - Darrius Heyward-Bey WR59 OAK/9

8.04 Pictus Cat - Heath Miller TE14 PIT/8

1 & 2 Best RB team, especially because the value might dictate I keep taking them with the first 7 out of 10 picks

3 & 4 Hoping to establish some steady Eddie during Marshall's suspension and beyond, but not thrilled about it

Romo seems a value at QB8, lots of value gone just before me at WR & RB IMO

5 & 6 Continuing the WR make up, Berrian may improve with new QB, Santana is a nice #3, Do 3 WR 2s equal a WR 123. Near the bottom of the TE cliff though...

7 & 8 Nailing the RB down when value didn't seem there anywhere else or I rather let yall take the other guys there. A TE finally fell a little.

9 & 10 Was hoping Campbell would fall with a nice bye matchup for Romo, but settled for Sage vs BAL. Added 4th WR to my ragtag fleet of WRs. DHB should get some opportunities and has talent. Hope his learning curve is sharper than normal.

I did not expect Barber to fall, and he is the last RB on the board I would have taken in the 2nd. All but a couple other options I looked at share a BYE with Forte, so I am very glad to be done with RB for a few rounds...

Well, here's what I took into consideration when I made the selection:Unquestioned #1 Option on his Team, has the build to be physical with most top-flight corners, and gain separation...Has an outstanding QB chucking him the rock, with whom he's achieved a high level of familiarity...Post-draft, has an outstanding array of complementary options around him in the offense, forcing D's to both respect the run, and net him the ability to work in single coverage...Plays in a scheme that should net him plenty of looks, despite the threat that there may not be enough footballs to go around...RB's and WR's are essentially the same Weapon in this thing, and his catch, yardage and TD #'s, in my opinion will equal or exceed those of the Players drafted in his immediate vicinity...In my book, he's slightly behind Fitzgerald, and right on par with AJ - IF AJ stays healthy, and so does his QB...2.07 was quite a bit more difficult of a choice, and I'm fully aware of having 2 high round eggs from the same basket and Bye Week, but Peyton Manning sort of 'hedges' the Wayne Pick, and between the two of them, I stand as good a chance as any of putting up a # in Week 5 that might keep me from getting 'outed' in Week 6. Could have used a better matchup than @ Tennessee, though...we'll all see on National TV if it's Wayne's night vs Finnegan, or I meet an early demise thanks to the 1st major risky decision in SSL2!

Went the same route with Westbrook and McNabb. I'll have one more team around to best for the week. Picking up a second QB will aleviate 30-40% of the problem, hopefully a RBBC or WRBC in your case will resolve another 30%. That should be sufficient to get us on par with the other guys dealing with byes those weeks.

Although RB value has been slipping in these drafts, by securing 2 studs early you guys have opened up a host of other options. With one stud left during the others bye you won't have to be as deep at RB. You're also going to have complete flexibility when selecting players later without byes being as much of an issue. Those incremental advantages some allow you to make up ground at the other positions and take advantage of some value picks later.

slight problem already with the byes but i just could not pass on Rodgers. with a little luck and the fact that it is an early one, should be able to draft around the issue.

RB: Jacobs, Lynch

WR: Fitz, Jennings

So what did it cost him to trade up for 3 second rounds picks???

Great job by Jeter for sure. In my opinion, the middle of the draft is always a much better place in the 16-teamers. Especially this year with so much variety in the RB rankings.

4.16 M Schaub QB Texans

1.01 S Jackson RB Rams

2.16 D Bowe WR Chiefs

3.1 Tl Owens WR BIlls

5.1 A Miller TE Raiders

Personally, I just can't see taking Peterson 1st in a survivor PPR. His style is so combative and he has not yet been effectively used in the passing game. MJ Drew was the other I considered, but he has not yet seen the full load that he will this year, so I opted for S Jackson, who is supposed to carry the load for the Rams. At the next turn, I grabbed my two top WRs on the board, but due to the increase of WR importance in ppr, they weren't as highly ranked as I had hoped. At the last turn, I felt compelled to grab my top QB and TE available. Hopefully, for the next few rounds, I can go BPA without as much focus on covering positions. It will be a tough and challenging draft.

I'm just not feeling the TE/QB trend here with so much value falling at WR and RB.

1.12 Westbrook...gold in PPR, and possibly a steal

5.12 Beanie Wells (ROY????)...A likely bellcow RB in the fifth?

2.05 Roddy White

3.12 Roy Williams....I can see him significantly outperforming this slot...or being a complete wasted pick

4.05 Antonio Bryant

There's definately a lot of risk in this start. I'm behind the 8-ball on QB's and TE's, but have a fantastic starting group of RB's/WR's....much better then is normal because of all the QB/TE's falling. Although Williams is a risk, it's a very worthwhile risk late in the thrid. I think Bryant picks up right where he left off last year.

:fingers crossed:

I agree with your assessment completely as far as QB/TEs. That being said, I don't think anyone will put up a Top 3 WR group to compete with yours, as they have the potential to bean elite group. Beanie a bellcow?, I think Hightower will still get his. But Westy is gold, hopefully he is past the injuries from last year.

I like it. A solid core of high scoring players and no concurrent bys in my top 5. I think Parker is a steal as RB24. Marshall has some questions with Orton through him the ball, but will still get his touches. Shockey will get plenty of touches and will be a TD machine in the red zone.

I give myself a solid B.

If Chad doesn't flop this year, this isn't a bad team so far. I could easily have waited at RB until the 3rd, but the 2 guys I like have week 5 BYEs, and I wouldn't feel great about most of the other options there. Missing Keller and Carlson at 6.8 hurt as that's where I was really counting on grabbing huge value.

My other survivor drafts this year were 1.02 and 1.15 - and I think I like being on the ends better. You risk getting caught at the end of a run (see my QB situation in WSL3 :X ), but I also feel like you can control your own destiny a little more - in the middle I feel like I've gotten some decent value picks (Rivers at QB09) but I also feel like I *have* to draft positions in certain rounds based on what other guys are doing.

He went 8th is SSL 1 as well. Even Ryan and Flacco were late round throwaway picks last year if they were drafted at all. I don't think a rookie QB has ever been drafted close to this early in these Survivor league before. Intriguing, but not something I'd do.

Sanchez in the 7th?Is this a dynasty league draft?

He went 8th is SSL 1 as well. Even Ryan and Flacco were late round throwaway picks last year if they were drafted at all. I don't think a rookie QB has ever been drafted close to this early in these Survivor league before. Intriguing, but not something I'd do.
not something that i really wanted to do either but figured by the time it gets back to me(8/9) there won't be many left, and his bye week worked the best. beside if i need his points much, i'm history.also wanted maghee and 3 off week 7 at this point, just won't work.

8.05 Julius Jones, Seattle

I know why Jones slipped so far down in the PDSL/WSl drafts, but why so low now? They've brought in no significnat competition and he's clearly in line to start, barring a trade. There isn't even a back behind him I would expect to get significant carries.

But...guys like Benson are still going ahead of him?

Surely I've missed something?

I'm with ya, rene. I was kinda lickin' my chops watching JJ fall, but I'm not unhappy with Norwood from a PPR perspective, especially with how he finished the Season last year. While the addition of Gonzo might have some impact, I still like his ability to have weekly flashes, and both he and Breaston have decent enough upside potential and early byes (Week 4).

Still plenty of Draft to go, and work to do...

Draft Position 10:

Peyton Manning

Larry Johnson

Jerious Norwood

Reggie Wayne

Lee Evans

Kevin Walter

Steve Breaston

Greg Olsen

I've got some 'steady eddies' (Manning, LJ, Wayne, Walter, Olsen)...

...and some 'spikers' (Norwood, Evans, Breaston)

Took a risk when I passed on RB2 for Breaston, but wasn't too thrilled with the RB2 options at that point, and wanted another WR with upside. I might have been able to wait on Breaston, though. Movin' on, groovin' on...

Same thoughts here. Got him at 9.15 in SSL1. Sure cleaned things up after grabbing Witten in the second and McNabb in the fourth left me thin at RB. If he's the starter it's a gift getting him this late. Seattle's offensive should be vastly improved this year.

Jay Cutler (5)

Larry Fitzgerald (4)

Greg Jennings (5)

Donnie Avery (9)

Brandon Jacobs (10)

Marshawn Lynch (9)

Derrick Ward (8)

I am happy with this team so far. I thought I got good value with Lynch in the 4th round, but I understand why he fell, considering the suspension. Due to that, I thought it was important to get a solid RB3 and I saw a dropoff after Ward, so was pleased to get him in the 6th.

Also, I like that my bye weeks are very spread out among my starters.

I think you are definitely winning right now. No stud TE will hurt for sure though. will be interesteing to see what you come up with there.

:X After taking what I thought was a steal with Jones, I was gambling at least one of four QB's would make their way back to me in the 9th.

It sure didn't take long for you ###@%^$$ers to snag Edwards, Flacco, Delhomme, and Pennington!

Sorry about that. Probably took a QB2 too soon with Brady as my QB1, but I wanted someone who could throw 5 picks in the biggest game of the season and Delhomme was there. :goodposting:

Went into this draft with a specific strategy that I was using for the first time. I'll explain at the end of the draft, but so far, I don't like it. Having said that, I'm pretty happy with my team. However, being right next to the best team in the league so far in jeter means that the strategy sucks.

QB: T Brady 8

J Delhomme 4

RB: C Johnson 7

J Stewart 4

D Sproles 5

WR: M Colston 5

L Coles 8

TE: C Cooley 8

Week 8 will be tough, but I should be OK.

 This is a lesson I learned the hard way in the WSLs (although you would think I'd figured it out years ago...). You can't wait too long to grab your QBs. I really wanted to grab another WR or RB with one of my last 2 picks, but I knew if I did that I'd either miss out on the last tier of TE1s or all decent back-up QBs.

For several years I have wished to be near the top. In 09 however, I think that lower is better so naturally I got pick #1. I followed the Wildman and went with my gut out of the chute taking Steven Jackson, who the Ram offense will go through. I think that he is in for a lot of receptions and a heavy load. Now if we can just keep him injury free.

Team so far..............

QB - Matt Schaub Texans 4.16 - I think that he has a good chance to better QB10 which is where I got him. Tough at the ends to ignore QB early.

RB 1 - Steven Jackson Rams 1.1

RB 2 - Felix Jones Cowboys 6.16

RB 3 - Jamal Lewis Browns 7.1

I have two guys that I think will be prominently featured in the passing game and all three should see plenty of opportunities unless injured. Nice start here.

WR 1 - Dwayne Bowe

WR 2 - Terrell Owens

WR 3 - Mark Clayton

WR 4 - Domenik Hixon

Bowe has been solid for the Chiefs and he has a better QB and Gonzalez is gone so the opps could increase. Owens is usually good for several TDs and several big games which is perfect for survivors. You guys seriously depleted the players here and my third and fourth WRs are taken at WR 48 and 49. Need some big games out of these two. Hixon came on strong at the end of 09 and so far all the Giants have added are rooks.

TE - Z Miller - was the best I could do as eight were already gone by the end of the fourth round. At least the TE drafting continued heavy, but I think that the guys in the middle who focused on WRs benefitted the most by this.

Hoping to add some quality depth as we move along. Surprising draft thus far with several WRs being taken much earlier than expected as well as QBs. Didn't appear to me to be value there, but we'll see as this thing plays out.

Good Luck to all the SSL 2 Crew.

So far it is what it is.

A RB/RB start team that is balanced with near average players.
