REally like this team. The only mistake I see is Green in the 10th. Definately would have been a better move to take a 4th WR that is going to score at least 3 weeks then a RB that will likely be bench fodder on this team. I don't think the RB drop off at this time was as steep as the WR drop off.

Thanks Bass. I kind of agree with the analysis on Greene/WR. At that spot, there was no one I liked at all. I considered a 3rd QB, and although I needed a WR, I did not like any of them that were left. Here are the WRs that were taken since I took Greene.10.15 Evilgrin72 - Nate Washington - TEN/7 - WR6311.04 radballs - Joey Galloway - TB/8 - WR6411.11 Twilight - Mike Walker - JAX/7 - WR6511.13 Pictus Cat - Bobby Engram - KC/8 - WR6611.15 Duke1948 - Nate Burleson - SEA/9 - WR6712.07 nittanylion - Devery Henderson - NO/5 - WR6812.08 wraith5 - Davone Bess - MIA/6 - WR6912.09 Valence - Sidney Rice - MN/9 - WR7012.10 ConstruxBoy - Kenny Britt - TEN/7 - WR71 I took Jordy Nelson right after Britt was taken. I like getting him there, and would have taken Bess, Britt or Rice at that spot also. I did not really like the guys taken in the 10th/11th, especially compared to Greene.

Not sure I agree with that jeter - Bobby Engram could well be a good PPR receiver and target for Cassel in KC and would not have been a bye week conflict with your other WR....

Henderson and Galloway will post some scoreable weeks. Obviously if we disagree and you have sleepers later then you are correct. What type of numbers do you expect from Green?

I thought Greene presented very good value due to a couple of reasons. RB is the easiest position for a rookie to find success and I think the writing is on the wall in regards to TJ. I think there is a chance he is not even there this year, and if he is, it will be his last. Because of that, I can see the Jets giving Greene a shot with the future in mind. I love him as a RB4. Also, drafted him (and Ward) with the Lynch suspension in the back of my mind.

I'm actually really pleased with how this team is rounding out - early on I was pretty concerned. No BYE week issues at all and Graham at RB58 was a complete steal.

this team is solid everywhere imo. there are things you can nitpick like what happens to 85 if Palmer doesn't come back well from surgery, Derrick Mason has hat lingering injury all year, etc. but you can't predict that stuff.

very nice draft.

This was my 2nd survivor league this offseason where I was blessed with the 16 slot. I still did not like the RB options left once the other sharks had first bite.

The idea to start QB/TE is a new approach for me. I consider it a risky approach and I work in risk mitigation - so very out of character for me. While a bit more stressful, I'm pretty happy with the end results.

QB

Brees - 5

Collins - 7

I've never been a fan, but after another year of sick production I cannot continue to doubt Brees as I have in the past.

Collins will be steady for TEN. The best thing about this pick was at 14.01 it came 5 rounds after all of the other solid QB starters were gone.

RB

R.Grant - 5

K.Moreno - 7

R.Mendenhall - 8

T.Hightower - 4

Grant fell after a subpar 2008 and Moreno is an unproven rookie - still I see 2 solid starters on good offensive teams that are both in-line for many touches in 2009. Mendenhall and Hightower will both get the goal line work and both could push to start - they also play on good offensive units.

WR

T.Holt - 7

L.Moore - 5

D.Branch - 7

P.Harvin - 9

P.Burress - ?

L.Robinson - 9

P.Turner - 6

I like my top 2. I think Holt bounces back this year in Jax and Moore plays in pass happy New Orleans. After that is gets cloudy. I like the potential of Branch, Harvin, and Robinson based on opportunity, but there is also a dependability risk in all of these picks. Burress was a late round home run swing. Patrick Turner is my sleeper pick - he is huge (6'5" 224), has soft hands, and he could be a key red zone option this year for the fish.

TE

J.Witten - 6

One stud with the obvious weakness that all of the TE eggs are in one basket. I felt I needed more WR depth over the backup TE scraps left at 18.01.

PK/TD

J.Scobee - 7

L.Tynes - 10

SD - 5

PHIL - 4

Went double D early to get 2 solid units and help fuel the TeamD run. This allowed me to focus on late round depth early and caused some talent to fall.

Looking forward to watching it allplay out with you guys in 2009!

Team rzrback77

Similar, but opposite to ShadowMaster, I picked at the top of the draft. As I have stated repeatedly, I don't see the advantage at the top of the draft that os tpical. The combination of a true ppr stud RB with the increased favor for WRs in ppr puts this slot at a disadvantage without a solid performer at the 1.01 selection. We'll see if I got that solid contributor or not.

My other issue is that almost the entire team is off in weeks 7-9. My bye weeks are very concentrated and this is typically the kiss of death in survivors. My absolute worst week is week 9, the last one with multiple teams off and also after eight teams have been booted already. If I am lucky enough to survive till week 9, it will difficult to advance farthre.

QBs

4.16 Matt Schaub Texans

11.1 Brady Quinn Browns

I love the potential for Schaub in 09. Although, he has been injury prone, he played very well last season. I think that Quinn wins the Browns starting job and he came rather cheap after the loss of Winslow and the rumor of Edwards being traded. In this deep a league, it is difficult to dominate here without sacrificing other positions so I took who I thought was the best available at the end of the fourth.

RBs

1.1 Steven Jackson Rams

6.16 Felix Jones in Switz I trust (plus my eyes beheld his greatness in college)

7.1 Jamal Lewis Browns - was not a huge fan, just did not like the WRs options there

10.16 Laurence Maroney Pats

WRs

2.16 Dwayne Bowe Chiefs - hoping for explosion with Gonzo gone and solid QB on hand

3.1 Terrell Owens Bills - great survivor WR good for several huge games

8.16 Mark Clayton Ravens - I'm hoping (well wishing) for break-out in 09

9.1 Domenik Hixon Giants - torn between him and Smith was surprised how well Hixon did down the stretch in 08

17.1 Demetrius Williams - back-up plan to Clayton and big Couch Potato fan

TEs

5.1 Zach Miller Raiders - got the last one I wanted as TEs went early and often

14.16 Brandon Pettigrew Lions - hope that they let him out in patterns some

PKs

15.1 Neil Rackers Cardinals

16.16 Phil Dawson Browns

DST

12.16 Arizona Cardinals

13.1 Houston Texans

Caught so many times in this draft where I almost felt obligated to reach and take my guy as I knew they would not make it back to me. I think that I am a better mid-round drafter as I can identify value falling better than I reach for it. We will have to see how this one works out. It was certainly different as several extremely surprising picks were made. Buggest shockers for me:

6.12 Greg Camarillo by Teamramrod coming off knee surgery in the same tier as S Moss, Walter, Mason, Driver, Coles and Avery

7.15 Mark Sanchez by Duke1948 seemed very early for a rookie QB

11.12 Kevin Faulk by Evilgrin72

16.7 Jim Sorgi by nittanylion rolling with one QB

17.10 Pat White by nittanylion rolling with three QBs

Look forward to the season and hope to exchange conversation with my fellow SSL2 drafters later in the year. As the old saying goes, this draft was real and it was fun, but it wasn't real fun.

I agree Rzr - the end is tricky.

Some talent fell my way and I grabbed it, but I also reached for some players who were not quite ripe but who would not make it 30 more picks back my way.

5.08 Ben Roethlisberger - PIT/8 QB

8.09 Joe Flacco - BAL/7 - QB21

Solid middle of the pack combo. I look for decent improvement across the board from Flacco this year

3.08 Ronnie Brown - MIA/6 - RB16

4.09 Darren McFadden - OAK/8 - RB22

7.08 Chester Taylor - MIN/9 - RB35

11.08Michael Bush - Oak/8 - RB53

I was afraid my RB's might suffer a large amount starting with WR\TE, but I'm pretty happy with this set. Ronnie Brown is a potential top 10 back, The McFadden\Bush combo should net the lion's share of the touches in Oakland, and Chester Taylor should see a bit more carries than last year in addition to getting nearly all of the receptions out of the backfield.

1.08 Andre Johnson - HOU/10 - WR02

6.09 Donald Driver - GBP/5 - WR35

9.08 Jeremy Maclin - PHI/4 - WR53

10.09 Josh Morgan - SF/6 - WR62

12.09 Sidney Rice - MN/9 - WR70

15.08 Malcom Floyd - SD/5 - WR79

Not too excited with this group. Basically 1 stud, 1 solid contributor, and a whole lot of upside. I think Maclin is in the best situation of any rookie WR and should produce fine opposite DeSean, but you never know with the rookies. Sidney Rice flashes greatness at times, but i can't get too excited about him. I do really like Malcom Floyd's chances to claim the WR2 slot over Chambers who fits better in the slot.

2.09 Antonio Gates - SD/5 - TE03

16.09 LJ Smith - BAL/7 - TE30

guaranteed top 5 production at this spot unless Gates' toe injury lingers.

14.09 Mason Crosby - GB/5 - K05

18.08 Jason Hanson - DET/7 - K28

13.08 Panthers - CAR/4 - DEF17

17.08 Bengals - CIN/8 - DEF29

I don't see any huge weaknesses in this team, but I'm an AJ and Gates injury away from serious trouble. Week 5 is the only real bye week issue, but it's early enough not to have a terrible effect.

Had a different strategy this year. Usually in these things I spend the first 5 or 6 rounds reaching some for players I like, then spend the middle rounds trying to find good value, and finish up by making sure I have equal depth at all positions. I've done pretty well in these over the years, but I decided to try to switch it up this year. My strategy was to take the best value on my board the first 6 rounds (more or less, depending on Bye weeks), then look for players I like in the middle rounds, and finally worry more about getting strong depth at RB and WR than the other positions.

So here is the result:

QB:

T Brady, NE 8 - 3.07

J Delhomme, CAR 4 - 8.10

Not a fan of taking a QB early and not that high on Brady this year, but he was clearly the best value on my board at 3.07. Under my old strategy, I would have jumped on Ronnie Brown, who was good value as well. But Brady was highest on my board, so I took him.

I think Delhomme is a decent backup. It was a little too early for a QB2 but with Brady a little uncertain after the injury, I wanted a solid starter.

RB:

C Johnson, TEN 7 - 1.07

J Stewart, CAR 4 - 5.07

D Sproles, SD 5 - 7.07

F Jackson, BUF 9 - 10.10

4 RBs with 4 different Bye weeks. Johnson and Stewart were the best values, although at 5.07 DeSean Jackson was right next to Stewart on my list and I sort of wish I had taken him instead. I like Sproles and Jackson this year. I know they drafted Johnson in SD, but I think that was for when Sproles leaves and I expect him to get a decent amount of work this year. I also expect Jackson to hold off Rhodes in BUF as the main man for the first 3 weeks and then the clear backup when Lynch returns. Both guys are great in PPR because they are electric with the ball in their hands and I expect them to get a number of dump off passes to get them the ball in space.

WR:

M Colston, NO 5 - 2.10

L Coles, CIN 8 - 6.10

M Austin, DAL 6 - 9.07

K Britt, TEN 7 - 12.10

K Burton, STL 9 - 14.10

H Douglas, ATL 4 - 15.07

It's as simple as A-B-C-D. Love this group. 6 different WRs, 6 different Bye weeks. Colston was the best value on my board at 2.10. Coles was the second best value at 6.10. I had Cassell higher but he and Brady have the same Bye week. Austin was a guy I was looking to get although I think he's a little over hyped here. I considered Macklin and Jenkins there as well. I'm unsure of how Britt will fare as a rookie, to be honest. I probably should have grabbed Jordy Nelson there. But I decided to take a chance and hope he connects with Collins on some long ones. Happy to get Burton there. I've soured on Robinson after holding him in a dynasty league for a couple of years. I think Burton is an excellent WR2 if he can stay healthy. I almost took Douglas here instead and then sweated through a round waiting for him at 15.07. Love him this year in PPR leagues.

TE:

C Cooley, WAS 8 - 4.10

B Miller, NO 5 - 16.10

Cooley was the best value on my board at 4.10, although as with QBs, I seldom take TEs this early. As part of my plan to prioritize RB and WR depth, I waited a long time to back him up. I really wanted to grab LJ Smith but he went right before me. So I have to hope for Shockey to get hurt by week 8.

PK:

N Kaeding, SD 5 - 13.07

D Carpenter, MIA 6 - 17.07

As part of my strategy to wait on non-RB/WR depth, I decided I should take the starters at other positions early. I hate taking PK and DEF early because I think there is not great predictive success for the positions from year to year. But I went ahead and took Kaeding as the 2nd PK off the board. He has an early Bye week, which helps. I really like Carpenter this year and was lucky to get him that late. At least I hope I was lucky.

DEF:

Minnesota, MIN 9 - 11.07

Denver, DEN 7 - 18.10

As with PK, I decided to take my starter early at DEF so I grabbed MIN as the 4th off the board. I had the thrilling choice of DEN versus DET as my backup Defense and went with the least crappy one. I think.

Overall, I really like my team. I didn't like it so much through out the draft, but now that it's over, I'm pretty happy. I obviously need Brady, Cooley and Kaeding to stay healthy and perform, but I like my chances to be right in this thing at the end.

QBs - Garrard, Campbell, Favre

Waited on this position and was glad to get 2 guys that can make plays with their feet in this scoring system. Adding Favre in the 17th will prove to be a steal if he plays. Fingers crossed.

RB - A. Peterson, Addai, D.Brown, Faulk

I like locking up a team's backfield in survivor formats because the RBBC is less frightening when you don't have to choose one to start. As long as the #s don't shake out 50/50 on a WEEKLY basis, rather than season-long, you're OK getting the high scorer started automatically. Also, an injury to one of your top backs can also turn out to be a blessing instead of a curse. Faulk is a bye-week fill-in with upside who always manages to catch 30-40 passes a year. I'm not sure why razorback was shocked to see me grab him at 11.15 - in 2 of the other 3 SSL leagues, he went in the 10th round.

WR - Houshmandzadeh, S. Holmes, Muhammad, N. Washington, A. Collie

Thin group, but has upside. I think Housh will be a PPR monster and Holmes is going to be a breakout star and will ctach 80 passes this year to boot. Muhammad, I'm hoping can duplicate last season, he's a good PPR weapon. Washington is the kind of guy who has huge weeks and terrible ones, which I look for in my WR depth in this format. Collie has been largely ignored, and is a rookie, but as of right now, he's slated to have a starting role with Manning throwing to him. Gonzalez had the same exact role two years ago and put up very respectable numbers.

TE - Clark, McMichael

If Collie doesn't emerge as a third WR option for Manning, it's a pretty good bet a ton of targets are headed Dallas Clark's way. In a 2 PPR league, I really wanted to get either him, Gonzalez, Witten, or Gates and was happy to see one drop to 2.15. McMichael probably won't count much for me

K - Elam, Bryant

Whatever. Hope for the best from kickers. ATL should score some points and I like Elam in a dome.

D - Dallas, Oakland

Went for defenses that have playmakers. If I can't get one of the top 3-4 DEF in these leagues (and I never do because I won't spend a draft pick early enough to do so) - I look for defenses that have individual dynamic playmakers hoping to get some defensive TDs.

Overall, I like this team but don't love it. The potential is there, but it's think in a couple spots and with this many teams and this many shrewd drafters, my sleepers don't fall. I was going to take Burress rather than Favre as my wildcard pick, but he didn't make it back to me in the 14th, which is where I was willing to take a shot on him.

Agreed.. I just didn't see a guy I liked enough to take in the late rounds, so I took Favre instead. Figured if he played, he'd be much more likely to register for me in a given week than a 6th WR. I just have to pray for no injuries to my top 3 guys (primarily top 2)

Regarding Kevin Faulk, he will be 33 years old this summer. He is pressing the age envelope pretty hard. In the last four years in ppr leagues, he has scored the following:

05 70 points

06 107 points

07 118 points

08 193 points

Which one of the four years appears different? It was 08, when Maroney only played three games and Morris also was injured. Both of those guys return and the Patriots added Fred Taylor. If he repeats last year then you are right and you grabbed a bargain. I think that he will be hard presses to score 100 points in 09.

Not really counting on a repeat. Just need a couple decent weeks out of him. 100-110 points would be just fine for a late 11th rounder.

6.14 Domination - Matt Cassel - NE/8 - QB15

8.14 Domination - Kyle Orton - DEN/7 - QB23

QBs should be solid, yet unspectacular. Drafting QB late, I am happy with the production I think I will get from this pair.

1.03 Domination - Maurice Jones-Drew - JAX/7 - RB03

3.03 Domination - Reggie Bush - NO/5 - RB14

10.14 Domination - Fred Taylor - NE/8 - RB50

18.14 Domination - James Davis - CLE/9 - RB63

I like my RBs alot. I expect to get high end production from my top 2, and consistency from Taylor. Davis was my flier pick, but I think he could end up having a good year.

2.14 Domination - Anquan Boldin - ARI/4 - WR12

5.03 Domination - Anthony Gonzalez - IND/6 - WR23

7.03 Domination - Devin Hester - CHI/5 - WR39

9.03 Domination - Justin Gage - TEN/7 - WR50

16.14 Domination - David Clowney - NYJ/9 - WR82

17.03 Domination - Javon Walker - OAK/9 - WR85

I don't love my WRs, as they seem to have boom/bust written all over them. With no solid #2, I am hoping Gonzo can develop into that and that Hester takes the next step.

4.14 Domination - Owen Daniels - HOU/10 - TE08

11.03 Domination - Brent Celek - PHI/4 - TE19

I think that this combo of TE will compete with anyone else's. Daniels has proven to be a stud in PPR, and I think Celek is highly underrated.

14.14 Domination - Adam Vinateri - IND/6 - K07

15.03 Domination - Ryan Longwell - MN/9 - K10

12.14 Domination - Packers - GB/5 - DEF12

13.03 Domination - Dolphins - MIA/6 - DEF16

2 solid kickers and defenses.

Overall I am not as satisfied with this team as I have been with my others, but if a few things fall right they could compete. I think I have the firepower to have big weeks, yet will probably have some very poor weeks as well, due to inconsistency.

Double mint twins, my RB RB start should give me strong #s in the two RB slots every week. In order to leverage the cost at other postitions, I resolved to get a decent backup and go with three to add depth, which I did at QB and WR. B +

3.13 Pictus Cat - Eddie Royal WR19 DEN/7

5.13 Pictus Cat - Bernard Berrian WR27 MIN/9

6.04 Pictus Cat - Santana Moss WR32 WAS/8

10.04 Pictus Cat - Darrius Heyward-Bey WR59 OAK/9

11.13 Pictus Cat - Bobby Engram WR66 KC/8

14.04 Pictus Cat - Ronald Curry WR75 DET/7

18.04 Pictus Cat - Dennis Northcutt WR JAC/7

The first four have upside from their positional rank. Engram, sometimes you have to admit you may have made a mistake. He's ancient, new, brittle, and not competing to be a starter. PPR he could be ... Curry should have good PPR #s and be what I hoped Engram to be. Northcutt may not get as many opps as last year, but he has Mike Walker and Torry Holt in front of him. One of them may need some tubb time to give him stats. B +

8.04 Pictus Cat - Heath Miller TE14 PIT/8

13.13 Pictus Cat - Martellus Bennett TE25 DAL/6

Miller should be about TE 14 value, which is to say no too far from the TE 6 or 7.

TO gone, what are we gonna do, who will help us in the redzone. Bennett is my answer.

B -

16.04 Pictas Cat - Rian Lindell PK19 BUF/9

17.13 Pictus Cat - Joe Nedney PK SF/6

12.04 Pictus Cat - New York Jets/9 DST9

Two Ks. NYJ is starting to look like a good group. B +

Overall: Balances effort on a team that seems not balanced. Week 6 will I have a QB? Week 7-9 will 4 -5 WRs be enough? I took my shots at the value I saw. B

Drafting out of Position 10:

QB PManning, Colts / 6

QB JSorgi, Colts / 6

RB LJohnson, Chiefs / 8

RB JNorwood, Falcons / 4

RB RRice, Ravens / 7

RB BrJackson, Packers / 5

WR RWayne, Colts / 6

WR LEvans, Bills / 9

WR KWalter, Texans / 10

WR SBreaston, Cardinals / 4

WR DHenderson, Saints / 5

TE GOlsen, Bears / 5

TE Boss, NYGiants / 10

PK Kasay, Panthers / 4

D/ST Baltimore Ravens / 7

D/ST Buffalo Bills / 9

Jacks Of All Trades:

JOT Pat White, Dolphins / 6

JOT Josh Cribbs, Browns / 9

I'm VERY pleased with this Draft. Like every Team, there are risks, but outside of the big chance I'm taking in Week 6, and some slight risk at PK, I think they're all manageable.

Manning/Wayne were my 1st two Picks - with most of the Upper Tier RB's, Fitz and AJ off the board at 1.10, I took the least risky, high production potential Player I saw remaining. Would have liked to have landed Brees at 2.07, but in Manning/Wayne, I got what I feel is the safest Upper Tier QB/WR combo out there. I'm tremendously high on both, as I think Brees will spread the ball around, Brady/Moss have the weather to contend with, the best RB on their Team since Cory Dillon and Belichick may tailor some weekly Game Plans away from them, Warner and Schaub carry injury risk, and Delhomme (SSmith) could be inconsistent, and will be protected by that overwhelming Rushing Attack. The Colts added two Players in the Draft who will have an immediate impact - Donald Brown and Austin Collie. I think that impact will come in the form of allowing Wayne to work in the least amount of coverage he's seen in a while, and he and Manning will make the most of it. Yes, I'm the culprit who drew ridicule for drafting Jim Sorgi in Round 16. I think I'll get the last laugh on that one. Sorgi, IMO is the best backup for any of the Top Guns (Brees, Manning, Brady, Warner et al), and was much cheaper than acquiring a second starting QB from another NFL Team. He won't replicate Manning's #'s, but I think he produces as much as an average QB2 in the 13-18 range, and given the multiple threats available, will still be able to get the ball to Wayne. We'll see if I'm right. I hope I don't have to be.

Manning/Sorgi/Wayne are my only Players off in Week 6, (I'll get to Pat White later), so I'm betting that I'll get enough production out of the other 14 to keep me from finishing last. If I'm extremely fortunate, I'll have amnesty that Week, and I think with my Team is structured to have a good shot at that, seeing as how the only guys I have off in Week 5 are my 4th RB (BrJackson), 5th WR(DHenderson) and Greg Olsen - but Kevin Boss plays a home game vs the Raiders that Week, so I think my TE production is safe.

Of course, that left me with my top two Players on the same Bye Week, and I structured many of my next Picks around maximizing Player value while minimizing that risk. I'm pretty tuned in to Penn State Players in the NFL, and I'm hearing nothing but good things about LJ in KC. He's in a positive frame of mind. Pioli, Haley and Cassel right a lot of wrongs with that Team, and that Offense. The loss of Gonzo is mitigated somewhat by the signing of Bobby Engram. If anything, it makes them more 'conventional', which might be to LJ's benefit. Jamaal Charles and Kolby Smith can keep LJ rested. He's no PPR guy, but can make up for that with yardage and TD's, provided the Chiefs aren't on the wrong end of a blowout, which they might frequently be, which would relegate him to the sidelines in favor of Charles. Obviously, the O-Line is a concern that I hope they'll work out by September. In these Survivor Formats, Norwood is a nice piece, as he could 'spike' on any given week with his big play potential, and he's the main receiving option in the Falcons backfield. I'm betting against Willis McGahee. Rice will start the Season getting plenty of touches, and only see his PT increase as the Season progresses. The Falcons and Ravens Offenses will both be built around the run first. If Rice takes over like I think he will, it might mitigate some of the risk associated with LJ. Brandon Jackson can catch footballs, and I'm not so sure Ryan Grant is a strong enough RB1 to keep Jackson out of the mix, especially when the winter comes. I'll get to Pat White later. No Bye Week issues, and LJ is my only Player on Bye in Week 8. Each RB has the benefit of having a solid QB to keep D's from focusing entirely on the run. If I could change one thing here, I'd have found a way into Darren Sproles or Felix Jones for either Norwood or Rice, and either Leon Washington or Tashard Choice for Brandon Jackson. Wouldn't have minded Jamaal Charles either. I like the sum of the parts of this committee.

Since I was taking a committee approach at RB, I wanted to go with a WR Group with tremendous upside. With Wayne holding down the baseline, I wanted to distribute the rest of my WR Corps between PPR Hogs and Spikers. Walter is my PPR Hog, and Evans, Breaston and Henderson are my Spikers, capable of blowing up any given week. I have a WR involved with Manning, Schaub, Brees and Warner. I would have liked to have found myself into Joey Galloway or Jordy Nelson so as to have had a piece of the Patriots or Packers pie as well. I'll get to Joshua Cribbs later. No Bye Week issues, except Evans/Cribbs, but that doesn't count in my book, and the only other Player I have off in Week 9 is my backup D/ST, and the Ravens are at Cincinnati that week, which isn't too shabby.

I've had some serious man love for Cooley and Daniels over the last few years, but passed on both to select Greg Olsen, who I'm quickly warming up to as a potential Top-5 Candidate, and Jay Cutler's new BFF. Kevin Boss is another TE I'm looking at playing a heavy supporting role with the losses of Burress and DWard in NYG. I don't think 40 Catches is out of the question for Boss. He makes for a nice Red Zone target as well, and has the nice matchup vs Oakland on Olsen's Bye.

Went with 1 PK, John Kasay. Two reasons - he was the best PK with the earliest Bye Week when I was up, and when your Offense is as run-centric as I think Carolina's will be, there are plenty of opportunities for FG's when those clock grinding drives stall out inside the 30. It's very risky to go with one PK, but I think Kasay's job is secure, and with the early bye week, I think I've got enough firepower going that I'm not going to get caught standing when the music stops in Week 4. That's the key, I really think - if you're going to go a Week down a position, it has to be early so you minimize the risk of finishing at the bottom of the pile. If I lose him for the year, obviously I'm sunk, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

Jacks Of All Trades:

I selected QB/RB/WR Pat White and QB/RB/WR/PR/KR Joshua Cribbs as my last 2 Picks. If I get knocked out due to having only 1PK, well, that won't look like the greatest decision, certainly...but I'm enamored with guys like this in Survivor Leagues. Unfortunately, until we hear otherwise, White will have to be rostered at QB - I'm kinda hoping he'll get designation as a RB or WR by the start of the Season. Although in White's case, I don't like drafting Rookies in these things, either guy has the chance to do something downright amazing on any given week, and rather than taking guys with moderate baseline and limited upside, I wanted to finalize my Roster with Low Risk/High Reward Players. I just didn't see any Players compelling enough from 16.07 (Sorgi) through the end of the Draft that jumped out and said 'PICK ME!'

So I went with some 'Outliers', who might just surprise with a spike when I need them to, but I don't expect anything more than gravy if either of them hits my box score.

Couple of reasons: you all did a fantastic job of Drafting - nothing fell. Second, I'm pretty pleased with what I landed in Rounds 1-15. Pleased enough to take these 2 late fliers.

Best Of Luck to all. Hope to be hanging either here, or with the group that moves up to SSL1, in 2010!

As a confirmation, I will be going by MFL's positions. Therefore, White will be changed only if he is changed on MFL.

9.08 Jeremy Maclin - PHI/4 - WR53

I think Maclin is in the best situation of any rookie WR and should produce fine opposite DeSean, but you never know with the rookies.

See...I don't get this. With Curtis and Brown coming back from injury, Jackson a clear starter, Avant a solid pro already in firm command of the offense, and an uber-stud ball-hawking RB.....where is Maclin going to get any targets from? This is alos a complex offense that rookies typically struggle in....Jackson was FORCED to start because of injuries.

Sorry...I just think anyone expecting any real production from Maclin this year is deluded.

Regarding Kevin Faulk, he will be 33 years old this summer. He is pressing the age envelope pretty hard. In the last four years in ppr leagues, he has scored the following:05 70 points06 107 points07 118 points08 193 pointsWhich one of the four years appears different? It was 08, when Maroney only played three games and Morris also was injured. Both of those guys return and the Patriots added Fred Taylor. If he repeats last year then you are right and you grabbed a bargain. I think that he will be hard presses to score 100 points in 09.

My thoughts as well. I've wondered if he wasn't a candidate to get cut...I can't see them carrying that many RB's unless one gets hurt in camp. He really helped me last year in my dynasty league, but I think he is more likely to be DONE then to score anything significant this year.

Curtis still has a lingering injury and I doubt he is 100% anytime soon. Brown? you´re kidding right? not even worth commenting on.

Not only did they draft Maclin in the 1st round, they moved up to get him so that the Giants couldn´t get him. He will be playing a lot this year in the most pass heavy offense in the league.

Obviously rookie WR´s tend to struggle, but he is in the best situation of any rookie WR imo.

Maclin is, no doubt, a big piece of the plan moving forward...but he is HIGHLY unlikely to supplant Curtis or Jackson (the starters)as a rookie...Avant is proven, and the WR3 in Philly typically produces fairly lackluster numbers. Maclin is a terrific dynasty play, but waaaaaay over-valued in redraft/survivor leagues right now.

I only mentioned Brown because expectations for Brown were still fairly high going into last year, and although he's a bust to this point, he did suffer injuries, so it might be premature to write him off entirely.

Sorry, but Maclin's UPSIDE is as WR3 on this team in 2009.

Some opinion on QB drafting

1) Kurt Warner QB4 and 37 overall – too early, not sure that he will play a full season

2) Matt Ryan QB7 and 51 overall – too early, he has promise but would have thought he would last longer

3) Mark Sanchez QB18 & 111 – way too early for a rookie QB - I think that Ryan and Flacco made most forget the history of typical rookie QBs

4) Carson Palmer QB13 & 85 - nice bargain (very interesting that he was taken at 85)

5) All the 8th round QBs look like value – Edwards, Pennington, Flacco. Delhomme, and Orton as QB19 – QB23

6) Brady Quinn QB28 at 161 and Shaun Hill QB29 at 172 – great value

7) Jim Sorgi QB33 at 16.7 as stated previously – way too early. understand the thought, but even so could have taken with last pick

Commentary:I'm going to wipe the floor with you guys.

I don't like my team that much, but I have seen through the years with these survivors that the apparent strong teams often don't last and some of those teams that looked like quick losers stay around quite a while. Lots of factors at play with small roster 16 team leagues.

So you're saying I have a chance?

11.8 points yesterday. :coffee:

5.06 Jeter23 - Jay Cutler - CHI/5 - QB11 9.06 Jeter23 - JaMarcus Russell - OAK/9 - QB26 3.06 Jeter23 - Brandon Jacobs - NYG/10 - RB15 4.11 Jeter23 - Marshawn Lynch - BUF/9 - RB23 7.06 Jeter23 - Derrick Ward - TB/8 - RB33 10.11 Jeter23 - Shonn Green - NYJ/9 - RB48 1.06 Jeter23 - Larry Fitzgerald - ARI/4 - WR01 2.11 Jeter23 - Greg Jennings - GB/5 - WR09 6.11 Jeter23 - Donnie Avery - STL/9 - WR37 12.11 Jeter23 - Jordy Nelson - GB/5 - WR72 8.11 Jeter23 - Tony Scheffler - DEN/7 - TE15 11.06 Jeter23 - Giants - NYG/10 - DEF03 REally like this team. The only mistake I see is Green in the 10th. Definately would have been a better move to take a 4th WR that is going to score at least 3 weeks then a RB that will likely be bench fodder on this team. I don't think the RB drop off at this time was as steep as the WR drop off.

kiss of death....glad Bass didn't endorse my team... :hey:

maybe it was too early but he's doing pretty good.
