The funnier thing to do would be to pick Babe Adams and his 1.39 WHIP, void SCBF's premature 1.24 pick, and start an epic whinedown.

4 beers deep already at buddy's bachelor party. Don't have time, energy or desire to deal with this today. WAIT YOUR TURN!!! No need to blow through this in record time, and to do otherwise just invites confusion, mixups and people tuning out. Will update the OP tomorrow when (if?) I wake up. Until theb, play nice and chill the #### out.

Commish out

any rules that takes away the draft order is gonna turn this into a giant cluster####....

Which to me is the whole point.I actually don't have a problem with it, but maybe just to ease everyone's mind we go in order for a round or two first.
what is your 2nd round year sparty?
1957
Was there a point to this question?

Can't check the gmail site right now but if you sent it to that site someone else can verify it. If it wasn't sent there you need to reroll and send it there. Side note: betting 200 bucks on a filly at practically even money in the Preakness seems like a really stupid idea. Yet that's what I feel compelled to do.

Are these your years? You didn't put your name on them, but they made it to the ruthroll e-mail. (I didn't label mine either).

1: 31 + 1892 = 1923 2: 30 + 1892 = 1922 3: 24 + 1892 = 1916 4: 1 + 1892 = 1893 5: 52 + 1892 = 1944

That's fine then. Sparty did the same thing. Seriously though, let's stay in order. Hell, this thing hasn't even officially started yet.

Well, he has 1993 and I was going to wait and see what SNC did with his year 2000 pick. We were pretty sure we were going to do the deal, but I want to wait to make sure.

Not exactly sure what he wants with my year 1986 pick. I'm seeing two obvious possibilities there.

What are your 5 yrs?
He has 1923 in the first round and wants to pick Ruth so he can start rubbing it in our faces ASAP.
for the record I would have taken Ruth at Norwoods slot, the f'ing other people factor was the clincher.

Kind of hoping Ruth slides to me in the 5th. That 1926 season looks really nice. *fingerscrossed*

:fishing: Babe Ruth should have been picked in the earliest slot he could for nothing else than to make sure that no one else got his best years... same with a handful of other guys...

Pick 1.9- 1993 OF Barry Bonds

SI cover from 1993

Best non-potatohead season. Went with him for the same reason Ruth should have gone first: to prevent someone from taking his monster seasons. He had the best offensive season this year and is a legit stud, so I felt pretty comfortable trading for him.

Yeah, I lose a stud pitcher with 1986, but based on the years I rolled, I can get good pitching later.

1.10 (from Mr Phoenix) 1986 Mike Scott, SP

I wouldn't have made the trade if we were rolling for years one at a time. But my upcoming picks are all from hitting seasons and I don't want to risk piecing together a pitching staff from my next set of rolls.

Yup, this was the guy I was probably going to take.

Bonds at 93 was clearly the pick, get an excellent player and take his ridiculous seasons off the board for everyone else. I think a couple of the drafters above should've done similarly instead of the players they have selected.

Ok, but he was the highest rated player (offense or defense) for that year. Of course you draft him.

I'm trying to decide taking an infereior player in order to block other people from having monster years... Not sure where the cut off is to be the most beneficial for my team.

Bonds was an obvious pick for 93. There are a couple of other players that could have been taken to block but they were a big drop off from Barry Lamar. I don't see how drafting to s*** on your neighbor can be a winning strategy in a 24 team league.

Yeah I guess. But I would've taken Ruth over Johnson in 1919 (though that is a very tough decision) for that reason and one other year I would've gone for someone else in which taking their other years off the board was a factor.

Is the Babe Adams selection official?

It shouldn't be. Picking out of turn two or three spots when we are on the clock and when the Commish says go is cool but selecting players 14 picks ahead when the player he selected is available in other years should not be allowed. This #### is gonna get confusing.

He didn't take a #### on his neighbor with that pick. He #### on his neighbor, then lit that neighbor on fire and pissed on him to put him out.
