New 16 team IDP league starting in MFL (1 Viewer)

A friend and I are willing to start and co-commish a 16 team dynasty PPR w/IDP league on MFL...assuming we can get 14 additional owners that will be willing to invest the short amount of time we have left to get the ball rolling.

We will have to collect the monies, setup the league, and get a real quick and dirty on how we plan on running it.

First, we figured we'd collect $30 +/- from everyone (pretty cheap league).

If you win the SB you would get about $150 total. Top 6 get their money back...advancing teams get a little more each week in the playoffs.

Here are some of the ideas/rules we sketched up:

40 man roster

8 man practice squad

unlimited IR spots, but it will require a link via NFL.com to be eligible.

Td's are 6 pts across the board.

2 pt conversions for pass/rec/run

.1 pt for every yard (pass/rec/run)

-3 or -4 pts for INT/FUM lost

+5 pts for fum rec/caused

1 pt for every pass defensed

1 or 2 pts for tackles

Like I said, we're still debating on a few things...I have a rough draft at work so I can't remember everything we wrote down. We're trying to make the scoring fairly balanced for offense and defense.

If you think you would be interested, either respond in here, or send me an email to benbregitzer@gmail.com. Once we have 16 teams, we'll give out the paypal info (or you can send a check if you prefer).

Be forewarned, if we get enough people, we're gonna have to hustle so we can get the Vet draft and then roll right into the rookie draft. 12 hour clock will be the longest we can accept atleast for this first year, assuming we get up and running. Then we can vote on other matters once we start rolling.

I'll post more of the league bylaws as we get them hammered out.We figure it would be $30 a year. 6 playoffs teams get their money back. Advancing teams get an additional $30 per round. SB winner can take home $130 for first year and $150 following years. This is because this year the site will cost $80 to run on MFL. Next year, assuming we start up, it will only cost $60 since we will beat the late sign up additional costs. (MFL offers a $20 discount for early signups.)

So far we have about 5 interested. Need 11 more. Don't be shy.

As of right now, this league has been filled. But if people don't pay up in a timely manner I will revist this thread to look for more promising owners. Becaue "Homey don't play dat".

Looking for 3 new owners in this league. We had some casualties at the end of the year and now need 3 motivated, active owners.

i can confirm there there are several guppies in this league and it'd be a great chance to make some easy money if you have room in your league portfolio

 
Are you still TWEAKING the Bylaws? If you go NO contracts/NO salaries, I would apply in a heartbeat. If that happens, let me know , & I'll take the team that no one takes. If not, good luck with your endeavor. I'll probably run into you again-2 Zealot teams,& 4 others on MFL. In Footballguys.com for 3 more years, so I'll read your posts, but I don't post much. Thanks.

Seriously? 2 posts earlier you said you wanted no part of the salary cap and years in our league. So therefore how can I take you seriously? I don't need more owners dropping out because they decide they didn't like the setup after all. Even if they do have a stacked team.Not sure why the owner of team 1 wasn't in the playoffs other than he just didn't know what he was doing. Ray Rice, MJD, Ronnie Brown, and Big Ben sure are nice, young building blocks.

Why not put all the players from the four teams into a draft pool and the four new owners can draft just those players? Looks like there is a real baaad team here of which you most likely won't find a sucker, um an owner to take over.

This has been mentioned. We will do whatever is in the best interest of the league and the new owners. So far though, each person has wanted a different team. We have one owner that said he would take any team. So no problem there.

IF you take one of the last teams we have available, maybe then I'll trade you Brown. But you can't quit after 1 year!
 
Two teams left, team 3 or team 4. Please go to the website if you are interested and see what players are on the roster if you are interested. THe teams I posted above aren't valid.

HUH!?!? Nobody wants a team with AP, Stafford, and Gates??? Pretty nice building blocks. Especially in a league that rewards yards from scrimmage bonuses for TE's. Lots of young WR's with potential.

Still looking for a solid owner for this team. Technically we have a guy...but he sucks and always has an excuse for not participating (basically a zombie owner) and if we can find an active owner to take this team over we're gonna give our zombie owner his money back and his walking papers.

AWESOME TEAM

The previous owner was new to IDP and decided he didn't like it. But he built a solid team. He has his 2012 1st, 2nd, and 4th round picks. His 3rd and 5th were traded away.

Annual fees are only $30. If you take over this team, you will only need to pay $15 for the 2012 season since the previous owner paid some towards his 2012 dues. $30 would be due each following year.

The league has been up and running for 3 years (going into our 4th). Great core of owners. Lots of parity in the league. We've had a different group of guys in the playoffs each year with a different champ each year.

We will be tweaking the bylaws some during the offseason due to things we learned during this season but nothing major. Cap hits will also be updated during the offseason.

We currently have 3 openings now. We are in discussions for Team 1 and Team 2 with some owners. We know that Team 3 is a little rough but it does have some nice pieces. We will pay for the 2012 season for any owner willing to take over Team 3, but that owner will also need to pay $30 for the 2013 season so you don't bail after playing for free.

We will have our RFA period coming up soon and you may use your draft picks to win players in RFA as well.

If you are one of the prospective owners I have already spoken with, hold tight. We are still discussing things. You will be contacted once we have an owner for all 3 teams. We had an owner drop out on us due to family issues. This is a solid team as you can see. We are just now wrapping up our draft and getting ready to roll into FA. We want a devoted owner that will be committed to being active and checking on the site regularly. This is an outstanding league with excellent owners that are very active (Our drafts always take 5 days or less to complete). We have owners in this league from around the globe (Finland, England, etc). This league requires a lot of attention to detail due to the cap and year implications. This is our 4th year of existence and we've had a different champion every year (we designed the league to require tough decisions and a good amount of player turnover).

If you would like to take over the team, please send me a message and give me a little info on your FF resume. :) We're not opposed to bringing on guppies as long as you are committed to the time required. Whomever is chosen will play 2012 for free but will be required to pay $30 up front for the 2013 season so we have a financial committment from you for future years.
