So, what's the verdict on plaid shorts for guys? I'm not a huge shorts guy in the first place and just can't bring myself to wear plaid shorts.

I could get down with this look I guess. If they are baggier, kind of disheveled and un-ironed and worn with a solid light colored shirt only:

Not terrible, I guess

But, good lord, no thanks on these:

It's what all the kids are wearing  And your posting pics of Beckham in various outfits is getting kind of creepy.
I think at this point, as A Public Service Announcement to offdee, we have to remind him that "Obsession isn't just a fragrance from Calvin Klein".

You do understand that the Live Strong bracelet was an item created to raise funds for the Lance Armstrong foundation for cancer research, don't you? In fact (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) , but every colored bracelet I have seen supports some charity and is used as a fundraiser. Are people wearing red ribbons to show their support for Aids research and are people wearing pink ribbons to show their support for Breast Cancer research or is everybody just following a fashion trend? Maybe these items do become fashionable to wear, but people purchasing them are supporting the charity and a good cause.
Looks like LeBron James fully supports the "King James" foundation. What a good samaratin.http://misterirrelevant.com/wp-content/upl...crybaby_big.jpg
Yeah, since you compared the rubber band you wore to a Live Strong bracelet in particular that totally negates my point. Well played sir.

Trend now is for guys to wear light scarves even during the summer which I'm not a fan. Anybody here attempt this?

But, I do like wearing a scarf during the cooler fall months and winter.

For those that do utilize the scarf, what is the appropriate way, in your opinion, for a guy to tie a scarf around their neck?

The appropriate way for a man to wear a scarf is to fashion it in a noose and hang oneself from the garage rafters.Really? Scarves now? We've moved from tight girl jeans to 'mandals' to scarves? Why do we even need our penises anymore?

:lmao: The only time I wear a scarf was when I had to walk to the train and it's 5 degrees out

It's a scarf AND a hat!

I don't really have a problem wit scarves so long as they A) contain no more than 2 colors B) aren't all tied up around your neck like the plum ticklers in that picture up there.

I have a scarf, and it's a life saver in the winter walking around town. It's black, one wrap, I'm off.

The skin around my collarbone doesn't react well to shaving. Not sure why. I get the nasty red stubble. It totally sucks. The best I can do is the trimmer at the lowest setting. That looks kinda goofy too though.

I'm stuck with white undershirts.
Trust me on this one. Go to Walgreens and invest $10 in the below shaver. It's very compact, used on dry skin (no shaving cream or anything needed) and the blades are made to work with sensitive skin. Could be your answer.http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jsp...;id=prod1054007
seriously? shaving your chest hair to prevent the faux pas of wearing a white shirt under your dress shirt? i'm a neanderthal, yes, but this is ridiculous even for the most metro guy.

WHO THE #### SHAVES THEIR ####ING CHEST HAIR?
:hey: You trim your sideburns, right? You trim down below deck, right? This is no different. Groom yourselves, slobs.
There's a difference. When you start trimming body hair a line has been crossed.
Below deck is body hair.Stop being slobs.

The scarf thing is a little silly to me. Outside of a tie, I'm a believer in clothing serving a purpose. It should definitely look good, but within the confines of it's usefulness. That said, scarves are great in the winter. I live in California, so it's a rarety that I use one, but still do a few times a year. When it's cold. People don't wear shorts in the winter. Don't wear scarves in the summer.

BAD

IDEA

Thanks to this thread, I used a beard trimmer on my scrotum on Saturday. Would it have absolutely killed one of you to warn about the dangers of doing this? My ball sack now looks like Darth Vader's naked head.
I kind of inferred that danger based on the fact that, you know, you're shaving your junk with sharp, vibrating metal teef.

I never owned a scarf until I moved to Chicago. It just never got cold enough down South to warrant one. But I'll be damned if I don't throw one on when heading out in to the winter weather here.

Yeah, I get the need for a scarf when it's cold out. But these swishes are wearing them in the summer.

I see many a scarf-wearing-swish in the summer here too. Hipster kids do it and sometimes I like the same tunes they do and gay men dig the style too and I live close to Boys-town.

Bump...can I get an opinion on these? I don't want to spend some coin on something that will make me look ridiculous.
Depends on your build. 1 is smashing if you're slim and muscular. If you have a few extra pounds though, you probably want to stick to 2 or 3. 4 is sooo 1989. What color of rubber bands do you have to accessorize with?

You forgot to mention the need for a scarf to properly accessorize the outfit...otherwise, solid work. :style:

I'll just keep copying and pasting this quote I made earlier whenever this statement gets tossed in. Maybe after reading it a few times the concept will start to sink in....-------------------------------------

I don't wear things that I don't like just because a celebrity wears it. I post pictures of celebrities here for visual examples....if they weren't pics of well-known celebrities than everyone would just sluff it off as some random model forced to wear it for a photo shoot or some idiot who has no idea what fashion is anyways. These celebrities I post pics of have clothing lines named after them (or own the lines outright) and are surrounded by top designers and stylists every day of their life (and in turn also considered the most stylish men in america by numerous publications year after year)

My word, you are a bit sensitive today aren't you? I suggest you go out and buy that "to die for" scarf you have your eye on to cheer yourself up.Go ahead and spoil yourself, you deserve it.

Thom Browne's summer collection 2009. I dig the socks

:style:
Sweet sweatband.
Their store is a block from my apartment. You can't really go there w/o an appointment. That headband will set you back about 3 benjamins. They actually make some cool stuff.
The guy in the picture looks like he raided his 4' grandmother's closet, threw on a few tennis sweatbands and painted his fingernails with white out. :loco:
