9.11- RB Rashard Mendenhall(Pitt)

didn't even think I was close to timing out. I was in the hospital E.R. from 4:30 to 9:30, so that's where I losrt my time. Couldn't help it ,had a bad headache. It's getting cluttered up in here again . I checked early this a.m.and wasn't close to the clock. Oh well,here's my pick. Nice pick of Scheffler Bri. He was on my list. The 9.10 pick was made at 3:25 pm and I technically did timeout before 12 because of a 8 hr. limit. There were 17 posts made after the 9.10 pick and weren't we supposed to keep ituncluttered with that stuff.That's why I made a draft comments thread. We'll either use it or not, doesn't matter to me. So now Igues i'm on a 4hr. clock. I've never timed out.

CASE FOR A REDUCED PICK TIME LIMIT:

I'm going to lobby for myself.If it works great,if not that's ok too. I did time out yesterday, one thing I've never done in these survivor drafts and I've been in 3 now. Pick 9.10 was made near 4pmand shortly after that I was in the emergency room for a severe headache until almos 10 pm. I could have checked in but I'd seenthings were running slow anf figured at worst my pick would fall under the12-8 timer-off period and I'd check in first thing in the a.m. Well,looks like things started to move and I did make my pick but it was a little after midnight, Most of you guys know I'm around a lot, take lists and pick in a timely fashion. I have no qualm with cutting my draft time, I'masking that in only be cut 2 hrs rather than 4hrs. considering my mitigating circumstances with my hospital visit. To the powers that be or whoever sets and enforces the rules for us I'm asking for my time limit cut to 6 instead of 4. I am a firm believer in rules but I also believe that things happen and you need to be flexible. If my pick time limit must be cut to 4hrs, which is the rule, I'm ok with that. You can bet I'll be on top of that. I just asking for a mulligan on this one and to see if it could be cut to 6 hrs. I'm fine with whatever decisionis made, I stating my case for a situation that arose that I had no control over and my health had to take precedence. Thanks for letting me present my situation.

I hope you feel better. totally agree on the cluttered thing. I wouldn't have in the past but when your time is limited, with no accompanying MFL site, it's rough sometimes.I'm never sure about the time here being "my time", EST, or the time of wherever the server is located. I was PMd to pick so I did. It did seem like a long time since the last one. That said, your post reads you did timeout at 12(in your words) and I show your actual pick at 12:40.Hospital or family emergency...there's a few things that make me wish there wasn't a timer. It's unfortunate because the timer is so essential the rest of the time.Again, I hope you feel better. PM me your cell # so I can text if something comes up.

hope your alright ghost, if your worried about missing picks Im generally pretty good at having the first post updated. whats the point of me keeping track at the beginning if everyone digs through the thread to find picks?
 
Ifully understand about my timing out and I'm fine with that as it was my fault. I'm a stickler for rules anyway. Just I ended up with a terrible tension Headache that required several shots odf Dilaud and some steroids. I'm starting to feel better. Seen my regular Doc this morning and he gave me some percocet, so I DO feel better,lol. Here I am putting in more clutter after talking about it earlier. I'm not gonna worry about it.If I have to sift through a few post to find the picks, so be it. It's not gonna be a big deal. So am I down to a 4hr. clock now?If I am I have to really stay on top of it. I'm usually around quite a bit so my timing out was an unfortunate situation beyond my control. I did have time to check when I got home from the ER at 10:30 but just wanted to lay down a bit til I felt better. so the Time out was clearly my fault so I will abide by what time clock I need to. Thanks.

yep we hit a snag for sure. and it has to do with people timing out. so sorry if you time out you get a 4 hour clock

Not to make excuses--since everyone should have the habit of checking in once in awhile while engaged in one of these SL's--but there have been quite a number of times when I've checked and found that people are not being pm'd when their turns come up. It seems like a major benefit--for a really minor inconvenience--to have the courtesy of immediately pm'ing the next person after making your picks. Post #2 in this thread has links to everyone's profile page so it's a quick process to find everyone's name for pm'n. and if you're not pm'n, then there's really no room to complain about a sloooooow draft. :2cents:
