HAven't set my clocks back yet (1 Viewer)

Daylight saving time is one of the worst ideas in the history of ideas and it needs to be repealed.
I started ignoring over the last 2 years. My life has never been better because of it. I don't even think about my growing student loan debt anymore

I do think not changing clocks back shtick would have been a perfect Kramer storyline on Seinfeld. They'd have made it funnier than I could

Had a conversation with my wife about this yesterday...

wife: We gain an extra hour sunday morning, right?

me: well, not reallly.

wife: spring "forward", fall "back", right?

me: yeah... but that doesn't exactly equal an extra hour.

wife: I get an extra hour of sleep.

me: only if you get up at the same time you were going to. You will need to set you alarm to make sure you wake up at a time other than a natural time.

wife:

me: If you go to sleep at midnight, and wake up naturally... You really didn't get an extra hour of sleep.

wife:

me: There is still 24 hours in a day.

wife:

me: you need to set your alarm to a time where you would actually gain that hour.

wife:

me; :bowtie:

wife: You know I'm only with you because you make great :moneybag:

me: :(
:D

Had this conversation again this year. It ended with her saying "Why can't you just let me be happy." I had no argument to that. If she feels like she's getting an extra hour of sleep, ok.

To be fair, while she completely :whoosh: on daylight savings... She is hotter than me, makes a great living and has done a great job of keeping me from doing really stupid things myself... Like jumping bonfires while intoxicated... Accepting a "who can run the fastest on a treadmill, while intoxicated" challenge... and many other countless things that involve will power and common sense.

Still got my hour from last year.

TWO HOURS IN THE BANK NOW #####ES!!!!
I hate you! Me bumping this thread was a time-honored tradition. Now you've ruined everything. :hot:
Damn man. I actually pointed that out in Curly's fall back thread too. Recognizing the tradition - but I know you've not been as omnipresent here and got a little too bump happy.

I feel like #### now.

Now it'll be dark stupidly early. In any event, I hate daylight savings. Either do it all year or not at all. Its function was rendered obsolete decades ago.

O Fallback Day (to the tune of O Tannenbaum)
O Fallback Day, O Fallback Day,
How lovely is your hour (repeat)

We take the clocks at two and then
We turn them back to one again

O Fallback Day, O Fallback Day,
How lovely is your hour

Turning Back the Clocks (to the tune of Jingle Bells)
Turning back the clocks
Every Fallback Day
We get an extra hour
And we shout "hooray"
Except for all of those
People in Arizona
But they're prob'ly pretty grumpy
Since they don't get to sleep in.

OH....Fallback Day, Fallback Day
Turning back the clocks
Once a year we change the clocks
And get an extra ho-ur!

Fallback Day, Fallback Day
Turning back the clocks
Once a year we change the clocks
And get an extra hour!

The First Fallback Day (to the tune of The First Noel)
The first Fallback Day, they turned back the clocks
And everyone thought that it was pretty cool.
Then six months later, some idiot said
"Hey shouldn't we turn the clocks forward again?"

And ever since then, every six months
We change all the clocks and sometimes it's cool but sometimes it stinks.
Except for those people in Arizona -
They're a bunch of loose cannons they never play ball.

Fallback Da-ay, Fallback Day!
Fallback Da-ay, Fallback Daaa-aaaay!
Turn back the clocks and gain an hour.

Happy Fallback Day everybody!

Actually I look for forward to tonight. Living in AZ pushes us to Pacific time in the Spring and the first half of football season has ridiculous 10am kickoffs. 11am is much more conducive to getting in church and Sunday school for the kids without missing my Vikings.

Set all five clocks downstairs before going to bed so we'd be good to go in the morning. Got upstairs to climb in bed and realized I had moved them all forward. So yea, back downstairs to reset them all again. Was awesome.

Meh. Keeps the kids from walking to school in the dark.

Dude you totally wasted, like, 10% of your free hour. See you next year, sucker!

Living in the future rules. How are all you simpleton DST plebs doing this morning?
Actually you're the one in the DST dimension. The rest of us are on standard time now. How's it feel to be living in the past, in the future?!?
