Mark Ingram (2 Viewers)

This entire thread is going to be a burning mass of disappointment in about 48 hours for the rest of the year

fbg staff all-in on ingram for months but he's not a top 30 rb this week in the cheats? For real?
GB run defense top 3 last year, as well as scoring defense?I look for a similar opener to last year, when they beat Minny 14-9. Both offenses are elite but both defenses should be borderline elite (for the NFC) this year as well.

Is he going to get many receptions?
Probably not, but there is a glimmer of hope. That glimmer is that (a) Lance Moore is out tonight, and (b) Sean Payton discovers early in tonight's game that passes to Ingram exploit an area that the Packers defense is leaving open. That second factor is what I'd call a film exploit, and Payton is fairly well known for bending over backwards to execute plays that are not on film (e.g. fullback Mike Karney scoring 3 TDs on previously un-run plays against Dallas in Nov 2006).Ingram did run a few (like 2 or 3) designed pass routes (not dump-offs) in the third preseason game, and was targeted once. It was intriguing that Ingram got to run some actual pass routes -- in the first two preseason games, it was strictly dump-offs....With short-route specialist Moore out, though, the more likely beneficiary is second TE Dave Thomas. Jimmy Graham, Pierre Thomas, and Darren Sproles could be in line for a few extra targets, as well.

Could Ingram end up with a better week then Beanie? Sure, but given what we know, which is that Beanie will be THE bell cow against a poor Carolina D, and that Payton has alluded to a timeshare (at least early on), plus GB is great preventing rushing TDs, I think Beanie is the logical choice of the two. For this week.

I'm rolling with Ingram this week, and hoping that he can at least get a rushing TD. If he can grab a few passes and get 60+ total yards as well, then it would be a successful start for him. I suspect New Orleans didn't spend a first round pick on him to split carries.

Can someone point me to the feature on FBG's where they help you decide between a RB or WR to start in a flex spot?

I have Ingram but am considering Britt against Jacksonville.

i'm goin s. moss over ingram in .5ppr if that helps. britt should be ranked somewhere close to moss no?

15 carries = 85 yds + 1 TD4 rec = 35 yds
that would be awesome if he did that. ... 21 points in fantasy vs a tough GB defense. I could see 2 tds the way NO gets in the redzone. Ingram might be one of the best redzone runners in the league, from the 20 in. He has the fastest burst from 0-10 yards also. Im looking forward to the game tonight.

Rankings, sort by Flex (WR/RB/TE). Britt comes out ahead on default, Ingram comes out slightly ahead on Bloom's - but Bloom rates them both pretty low.

Ingram was much more fired up than WeeWee in the pre game team chant. I'm now expecting at least one TD tonight from 28.

Cant believe I sat sat Hightower for this bum :hot:
If it makes you feel any better I sat some good RBs as well, only because I wanted to root for somebody tonight.
Yeah, not only root for someone tonight, but I couldnt bench the kid in his nationally televised first game. The way this is going, I doubt he ends with a great statline, but I feel like he'll either have a big play or TD before the nights over. Hopefully.

I honestly thought that was Ingram on that 20yd run by Thomas where he broke like 5 tackles. I didnt think Pierre had that in him :bag:

Patience Ingram owners. This kid was the most impressive player in camp (both rookies & veterans) according to several players. The coaches were raving, too, but I actually put more emphasis on the player's opinion in this instance.

This will be a process. Most everybody knew that. Ingram will get more & more touches until he's their feature back (sometime this season). I expect Ingram to be a top-10 RB in 2012 & the sky is the limit after that. He truly has HOF ability, IMO.
