Hmmm, the 7 spot, eh? Don't think I've drafted from there in this one before. Heck, very rarely do I seem to ever draft from the middle,

no matter the Survivor league. Should be interesting...

Good luck this year!

In general I like drafting in the middle slots - seems that many times those on the end have to reach for a player they really want if the immediate choices don't ring their bell and the "value" tends to slide towards the middle................in addition you are not likely to be caught in a run

OTOH I have to pick at the end - not something to look forward to after the pick at 2.02

I've actually never had Charles on any of my teams but I felt like he was the right pick there. I was hoping light blue jesus would be there, but I'm happy to have JC on my side.

Thanks to Capt Hook and Pictus Cat for getting these threads going. Looking forward to both the draft and the draft discussion.

so radballs, grimacing all the way  gets to pick ADP at 1.05 - Yeah I know it is a PPR league but still I am amazed by this. Ponder is better than anyone they used at quarterback last year so its not like the defense can put eight in the box.............to each his own but I was just as surprised in an NFFC preview draft the other night when I got to pull the trigger at 1.04

I figured I would be going WR by the time it got to eight. Hoping Ryan just uses plays to get Roddy open all year.

Yea pretty crazy. I normally take him at 1.2 or 1.3 and he would have been the pick this time, but I wanted to take Charles for a spin. I understand the optimism with Ponder, but I still think defenses make him beat them. Not that it matters - ADP has done it without great QB play his whole career.

I was shocked, but I'll take him for sure there. Now, just leave me a top flight WR guys.

I snagged AD at 4 in WCOFF last year, after CJ, AJ and Gore. Guess slipping 1 spot isn't that big of a deal?

It was a facepalm. I rushed the pick when I was busy at work for some idiotic reason. Didn't realize my mistake until o saw hooks post. That's a bad one. I cant be too upset though with rice.

LOLfiddles has Ray Riceravnzfan has 'Shard Mendenhall'bout the only time you'll catch me going :towelwave:and Whitten?only 94/1000 or more 3 of the last 4... :moneybag:

Color me happy this morning. Excellent QB scoring is an absolute MUST in this league and I have Rodgers on my squad. Spent some time last night evaluating Steven Jackson and a WR, but was not pleased with either as my second pick so I am thrilled to begin with Calvin Johnson and Aaron Rodgers.

The only bad thing about Forte this year is I can't get him at his 2010 ADP of round 5.x

I see this guy exploding in his 2nd season under Martz. It's been a while, but the potential for a Faulk or Priest like monster season is right there.

Both PAE and myself took Mendenhall in both of our SSL this year. You would think we might do cartweels to grab him at 12 since we both spent higher picks a month ago to get him. The one thing I took away fom those dfrafts was that RB talent and value pops up everywhere in the draft so I didn't feel pressure at all to grab RBs early. I don't feel pressure to grab a RB for maybe 5 or 6 rounds even. After the 1st few RBs, it's a mishmash of guys that will look good for a few weeks and then fade back to the pack. That's just my opinion and you can feel dfferent. All these guys that go in here like McFadden, SJax, they have their moments but they have a lot of heartache on the resume too.

I wrote a pretty polarizing piece last year on Fitzgeald which many of you remember so you must be shocked to see I took him that early but I feel strongly he wll bounce back and the addition of some help at RB and also a QB to be named in he next couple months, I feel confident he can get back to top 3-5 status. While no bargain perhaps to some, I feel like he should be back to the above century mark in recptions and the dvision is still pretty weak.

Michael Vick in the 2nd...I would think those that compete with m in FIX would see this as no surprise that we snared him at the 2.03. I will say that Rodgers was kicked around too but in the end Vick is a game changer. I thought I had seen it all but last year left me speechless at times. It was that feeling wen Vick ran 80 yards like a pinball back as a Falcon, it was the feeling when he was doing th Nike "Vick Experience" commercials, except this time it wasn't fluff. He threw balls I've never seen thrown before. The combination of Andy Reid and and this system just seems like it was tailor made for Vick and it probably is which is why Reid brought him to the Eagles in the first place. I do not expect him to crash back to Earth. Injury risk would stop some folks but we have no plans to stop collecting QB talent so we'll take the guy that gives us a 10 and 20 point edge many weeks at the QB spot snce this is head's up.

Thanks for lettng me tag along guys.

Why Forte over Gore?

Gore has missed 12 games in 6 seasons. He's only played in all 16 once. Currently rehabbing AGAIN.

Forte has never missed a game in 3 seasons.

Neither team had a solid offense in 2010, but the bears have better overall team strength and a defense that put them on the short field more often. The Bears also have a proven coordinator in Martz while the Niners will install yet ANOTHER offense for Alex Smith. The historical track records speak for themselves - the Martz offense just has more potential to imporve.

Gore has more competition for touches in Dixon than Forte does with Taylor (who only averaged 2.4 last year and I think gets released).

Forte is 3 years younger and has less wear and tear. He's in that peak production RB range of years 2-4.

Chicago has the better QB and leader. Smith has just shown so little.

Both may be productive in 2011, but Forte has less risk and more upside than Gore. Equal players, better team and opportunity for Forte IMO.

Pretty happy with the Charles/Jennings/Clark start. Peyton was the only other consideration at 3.03

Yep, you're the favorite. I would trade my team for yours. I knew Clark would not make it to, but it was a tease to get that close. Probably end up with three TEs to compensate.

Since when is Gore the 21st best player in fantasy re-drafts? Does not compute.
I have him as the eighth best player. Why did so many pass on him?Am I to high on him?Is it solely the injure concern?Help me out.........
just too risky for a 1st round pick imo.
Injury history, current hip injury recovery, SF offensive strength. Not for the risk averse. White and Welker are safer picks on my team to balance it out a little.

squad so far

DMac

Maclin & Dez Bryant

Gates

I like it but had a different receiver on my wish list for the 3/4 turn......still Dez has the skillz so if there are enough balls to go around or teams double Austin AND he can keep his head on straight he should be fine as a WR2

Interesting to see the differing paths in the draft - some no doubt influenced by draft spots - does make it virtually impossible to compare teams until at least starting skill spots are drafted

QB-Michael Vick

RB-DeAngelo Williams

WR1-L. Fitzgerald

WR1-M.Colston

PAE gets the ship righted a bit. DeAngelo is 3rd/4th round gold this year. We thought about waiting till the 4th but why chance it? We fully expect him to be somewhere else in a month or two. We have anchors at 3 of the 4 major postions and we also have another WR1 at the 2 spot. Colston was a nice find in the 4th. He can go stretches of 4-6 weeks where he quietly puts up top5 numbers. Themicrofracture surgery is not thesame as it used to be. Love th fact h has a good QB in Brees throwing him the ball to. From weeks 6-15 last season Colston was the number 5 WR overall after a slow start.

Agree with this

QB-Aaron Rodgers

RB-Ryan Mathews

WR1-Calvin Johnson

WR2-Brandon Marshall

Very similar to the PAE/MOP Squad thus far. Still have lots of holes to fill, but am happy with the start.

There were a few choices for me at 4.08, but I decided to take a risk and go with Lloyd. Can he be lightning in a bottle a second year in a row?

In most of the games last year, Orton was his QB, and Kyle is a pocket passer. I expect Orton to be dealt whenever free agency begins, unless it's

really close to the start of the season. If that's the case, they will likely hang onto him for at least part of the season, and then they have a

tough decision to make: Keep Orton starting and hope he does decent enough that teams might take interest and they can deal him away, or just go with

the QB of the future, Tim Tebow, and bench Orton (which hurts his trade value some, I think).

Looking at the numbers, I was surprised that Lloyd was the #1 receiver overall last year. I knew he blew up and had a career year, but didn't think it

was THAT good. What made me finally pull the trigger was looking at the three games that Tebow started to maybe give me a feel of what Tebow to Lloyd might

look like this year if he does become the official starter. And weeks 15-17 actually looked pretty darn good!

From the time I picked Mathews as RB17 at 4.5, only Bradshaaw, Greene, and the rookie Thomas were selected in the next dozen picks. I had my eye on three who I think are excellent RBs for 2011 and I was only 7 picks away.

Alas, they were all gone in the next four picks. I think that fiddles with J. Stewart at 5.4, grouse with Best at 5.6, and Sinrman with Blount at 5.7 all made excellent picks.

As OM said earlier today, back to the drawing board.

Definitely happy so far. I was really torn at 5.03 as to grabbing a WR2 or RB2. I really wanted Santonio Holmes at WR2, but he was taken 2 picks prior so I went with Boldin. I may regret not taking JStew or Blount there.

Alas, they were all gone in the next four picks. I think that fiddles with J. Stewart at 5.4, grouse with Best at 5.6, and Sinrman with Blount at 5.7 all made excellent picks.
Agreed - I was hoping one of them, preferrably Blount would make it to the end of the round but.......

Moreno is not one of my favorites, but hoping that he will keep up his involvement in the Bronco passing game. Ran for 4.3 ypa on 182 attempts in 13 games a year ago and also had 37 catches.
