*** Official 2012 FatballGuys Challenge ***

1,545 posts in this topic

Yep. I'm fat again (still). There has been some interest in another FatballGuys Challenge... you know, New Years Resolutions and all.

If there is enough interest, here is what I propose:

Start Date/Initial Weigh In: 1/1/2012 (or as close as possible)

End Date/Final Weigh In: 6/30/2012

Winners: Largest % Weight Loss, Most Lbs Lost

Prizes: Anyone want to donate some?

Updates look like this:

Height: 6'0"

Starting Weight: 267.8

Starting Fat%: 34.2 :X

Goal Weight: 210

Goal Fat%: ~20%

Current Weight: 267

Current Fat%: 34.2

% Lost: 0.37%

Lbs Lost: 1

FatballGuys Tracking Spreadsheet

Any other options/thoughts? Who's in?

What the heck, I've backslid a bit, and I'm looking to take off the last 15 - 20 lbs, but this might be a decent way to stay accountable. Obviously I'm not up for winning any awards.

Starting weight -- 208

Goal Weight -- 190

Ancillary goals - Sub 75 minute time in the Cherry Blossom 10 mile race in April. 10 pull-ups in a row. Sub 30 inch waistline.

Goal is 200 by the end of this. Would like to drop more prior to the PGA Championship in Charleston in August. Going into that sub-200 would mean wonders for both beach time and walking around the course for 7 days.

Goal is 175 by April 15.

honestly I will be happy with 185, I don't know how you guys get down to 150 at this height. When I had very little body fat in college I still weighed in between 175-180. :flex:

Sure:

Starting weight: 225 (Dec 30 weight)

Height: 6'1"

Let's say 210 by the end of this contest as being my goal. I am more concerned with fitness than I am weight but I think 210 is about the perfect weight for me so maybe I can combine the two objectives.

Goal is to lose 24 pounds or one pound per week. Ultimately back below 2 bills would be nice.

I will put up a prize, I suppose a BW3 or Hooters Gift Card defeats the purpose, therefore i will go with something from the MDen in Ann Arbor, MI. Hat or a t-shirt or something. The store is less than a block from my office so I can't F this up.

I'm in too. Walked down to the scale here at work to see if I picked up enough weight to bother and I'm up about 20 from when I was in shape this summer. :porked: I knew I was heading in the wrong direction when I picked up about 7 lbs while "training" for the LV 1/2 marathon last month.

Jiggle: Minimal

Challenges

Finding time to workout with 2 young kids and a new job further away from my gym.

Avoiding food while my body looks to pack on more winter weight.

I was in last year and failed miserably. Think I finished 2011 heavier than I started. Anyways, after fighting through the flu over the last week, my weight is actually down a little and I think this just might be the motivation I need to keep it going as the pants are looser and it feels good.

Yeah...I looked at his profile and saw the food he ate versus the exercise he did. He will be Karen Carpenter in no time.

353 calories for the day so far. one banana, one clemintine, one bag of jerky.

Should be able to stay under 1000 for the day. Baseline is 2570 doing nothing, 3500 in a pound. If I can average eating 1500 cal per day and exercise another 930 calories a day, that would be a 2000 daily deficit. 2000/3500 = .57 pounds per day. .57 x 52 days = 29.5 pounds by my goal date.

I don't want to be a downer, but I could NEVER, I mean NEVER do less than 2000 cal/day for more than a week at a time. It would take an insane amount of willpower for me to pull that off.

per this site i have 21.8% body fat.http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html?ic=4004

Excellent... Contest SHOULD be about Bodyfat!Check with your doctor to determine whether you are of healthy body weight for your age, height and gender. Athletes who are required to put on vast amounts of muscle and shed body fat may be determined overweight by some statistics. For example, National Hockey League superstar Sidney Crosby stands 5 foot 11 inches and weighs 200 pounds, according to NHL.com. This puts his BMI at 27.9, which is categorized as overweight. However, this is misleading because, as a professional athlete, he has a much larger presence of muscle than fat.
