Keith Olbermann fired from Current TV. To be replaced (1 Viewer)

Keith should go back and just stick with baseball...
Too late. Half of sports fans hate him. He needs to find another obscure cable network show that needs a talking head. I hear that OWN recently had an opening.

put him right up there with hannity, rush, beck as people representing all that is wrong in this world today.

Actually, Countdown was still as good as it was on MSNBC, but Keith is high maintenance and Current was a low budget operation - their primary coverage looked like something out of a public access station (which is why he didn't want to participate) and lights kept burning out during his broadcasts causing him to abandon most of the studio lighting entirely. I really didn't expect him to last out the year there.

He's been fired by FOX, MSNBC, CNN and now Current, there's no other cable news channels left. He's completed the set. Hit for the cycle.

On MNSBC he averaged roughly over 1 million viewers a night, so it was more than 3 other guys just a couple years ago.http://mediadecoder....eith-olbermann/
Still hanging on to old glory? Bill O'Reilly reruns at 3am in the morning average over 1 million viewers a night.

Amazing!!! And with all those other channels competing with FOX for the conservatives viewers - how does he do it?

He does it by having a good show; HTH.

Not swinging too much, as of 11/30/2010:
In a survey released by analyst Steve Sternberg, Fox News has the oldest audience among fully distributed cable networks. The network's average viewer last season was 65 years old, according to Nielsen. Heck, it's viewers are even older than viewers of Hallmark Channel, Military Channel and Golf Channel.

He actually has more viewers than that, but some of them were either chasing kids off their lawn or in the bathroom having a "good physic."

The funny thing about Olbermann is that he possesses one of the worst cases of self grandeur that I have ever witnessed and I think it really isn't an act. He really believes he is smarter, wittier, funnier etc than any other mortal man. His politics don't even matter - he is all about Keith and how dare anyone not realize his greatness. So classic his threats to sue. How dare they question his greatness. He needs to go away and stay there.

add oreilly to the list with olberman, hannity, beck, rush for people that aim to bring out the worst in people.

see the above exchange as exhibit A.

Bad person. He is an attack dog from the fringes of the far left, and is just about as bad as you can be.

For those comparing him to Bill O'Reilly, not even close. O'Reilly has guests on from all perspectives. He's a great opinion guy who isn't a bomb thrower the way Olbermann was, even though, if a tree falls in a forest does anyone hear it?

O'Reilly has more than triple the amount of 25-54 year-old viewers than any other cable news host; so I guess he has the youngest audience too.My link

I wonder if Olberman would be interested in cutting my grass this summer. I mean, since he's unemployed and all that...

It was kinda funny when he insisted that he graduated from Cornell, holding up his diploma and stating he went to an ivy League school, when he went to the State run agricultural extension, that accepts just about everyone. The blowhard liberal mouthpiece was never going to work in the long run. It was a good idea from MSNBC, because as a marketer, you test everything, and there was evidence that blowardery and partisan hackery brought in numbers.

But in the long run, liberals don't want and don't need to be told what to think like conservatives do. It's the very nature of the two positions. Liberalism must be accepting, and tolerant of differing ideas, and flexible, or it isn't liberal in the first place. Conservatism must be on-message, consistent, old-fashioned, and incapable of change, or it isn't conservative. Only the latter works well with jabbering, monomaniacal mouthpieces who never stray off message.

It was a good run, but it was never going to hang around. MSNBC was able to cut bait, and they were probably glad for it. His new gig was just a latecomer to the party realizing late that the product was unviable. KO's a dinosaur.

He should just take his money and retire. I don't think his ego is going to be able to take whatever his next job offer is.

Yes, too funny - and the late Dr. George Tiller might disagree that O'Reilly isn't a bomb thrower.http://www.salon.com/2009/05/31/tiller_2/

OReillys campaign against murdered doctor

The Fox News star had compared Tiller to a Nazi, called him a "baby killer," and warned of "Judgment Day"

Were you high when you posted this?

I never understood the Rights view and classification of him.....how could he have no viewers......yet still be the mouthpiece and one of the guiding voices of the Democratic Party?

He had quite a few viewers at one point. He just fell off the ledge.

Have you been to Wisconsin lately? It's been on display for over a year now on how the left is so accepting, flexible and tolerant.Anyways, I don't want to get into further details of how much you clearly don't know anything about conservatism other than what you read at HuffPo, so suffice to say that the bolded part above really got me laughing. I forwarded it on to my conservative friends it was so hilarious. You're going to be a superstar among them now.

I can't wait for your next golden nugget of hard analysis.
