Hello guys:

What do you think of this trade? Andre Johnson for pick 1.01 which will be Trent Richardson.

nobody will give 1.1 for Andre. Maybe not even a team loaded at RB who needs 1 more WR to be elite.

It's not a HUGE ripoff if it happens, but I dont think anyone will do it

I'm on the other side: I think you guys have contracted Rookie fever.

Not sure if this is redraft or dynasty but even in a dynasty, this is AJ. yes, he had a down year last year but here is a guy on a team primed to make a run that basically AVERAGES 100/game and gets a TD more times than not and usually catches at least 4 balls a game, usually more. He is a true home run hitter. He is a guy that can get you 15 points in one play and turn your day around.

Richardson may be great but he MUST be to justify the 1.01 side of this. If he is, in year one, what ADP was by the time he hit year 3 or so, then I see your side. BUT, if he follows a path like DMAC or matthews or anyone worse, then I don't know how you don't go with one of the all-time game changers.

That's my thought too. AJ is a proven stud. Richardson might flop in the NFL. I think it's a gamble and with the O-Line changes in Houston this year I see the running game being less effective and them going through the air more.

If AJ played the entire season he could end up as a top 5 WR, but at age 31 the risk is higher.

On an average AJ probably has 3 to 4 years of WR1 production left. TRich potentially has 6 to 8 years of RB1 value. I would lean slightly in favor of TRich, but team needs should help dictate the trade.

1.01 and it's not close.

Remember the hype Ingram got? People were calling him a HOF before he even played a game, and now those same people are dismissing him and calling Richardson the next great back. Maybe Richardson will be the best RB in the league, but until he shows it on the NFL level there is risk for a bust. I agree that I would rather have Richardson over AJ at this point, but to say it isn't close makes 0 sense.

Agreed. Let me tell you the story about a person who traded 1.02 last year for Roddy White...ya how does that look now. It looks stupid now. I have been hating myself for that move ever since week 1 last year.I was convinced Green was going to be a stud and still made the move because of Dalton being the QB I felt it would take years for Green to reach his potential because of that QB and I tried to make a move to win now.9 x out of 10 if you trade an aging star for the 1.01 you are going to come out on top because even if 1.01 is a bust you only lose out on your aging star for 2-3 years where as when you do what I did last year and trade for the aing star you get to watch that stud spit in your face for the next 10 years.

Unless getting Andre included a case of guiness i wouldn't think it was even close.

I moved andre last year for the 1.1 and 1.12 pick.

people tend to overvalue picks this time of year.

what happens if trent goes to st.louis and pulls a jstew on everyone?

As a 1.1 owner i would love Richardson going to STL with all those draft picks coming in from the redskins and if you have Richardson you most likely don't need him to be your RB1 the first year if you are rebuilding anyway.

+1I own 1.1 in 1 of my leagues and as a Browns fan I dread the Browns taking him...I also own S-Jackson...Stl would be perfect.I remember when I owned M-Faulk and I traded up to get S-Jackson that year he was drafted.

I'd probably move Andre for 1.01, but would try to spin 1.01 into something else. (Like Julio or another younger WR that I like better than Blackmon)

i see your point, but it will also be 3 or so years before he is fantasy relevant. and by then he will be in his mid 20s and his years of being elite will be limited. tampa or cleveland would be better imo.

The Ingram hype was from people who apparently didnt watch him play much. There is a reason he was barely a 1st round NFL pick. And even at pick 28 he was a reach.T-Rich isnt hype. T-Rich is talented hype.

I think you are giving Sjax a little too much credit

Even if Richardson does have a Mathews like start to his career he's atleast 8 years younger than AJ. (I don't have their ages infront of me so it may be more).

It's Richardson and it's still not close.

ETA: Is a Mathews start to a career all that bad? 1000yd season last year and a consensus top 7 dynasty back?

I agree with those saying this isn't close. However, I also saw how high that everyone STILL has Andre in the dynasty rankings and shook my head equally as much. I can't think of reasons to support Andre over the 1.1, even if you need a player short-term. If that's the case, go get a young horse instead one with 1-2 more races at top production.

These are Peterson's rookie numbers while sharing with Chester Taylor 238-1341-12 19-268-1......Now i am not saying Richardson is Peterson or anything but he has the talent/potential to be better then Peterson with his edge in the passing game.

I see what you are trying to do, but Chester Taylor at his best couldn't carry Stephen Jackson's jock strap. Your comparison is invalid. If Richardson does go to STL (which I don't see happening, not with the holes that STL needs to fill) he will be a committee back with SJax for at least a year.FWIW... I would take the 1.01 over AJ easily.

:goodposting: trent MIGHT be ADP, now we are saying he will be better? I think people have some short memories. I remember how people were taking Lynch over ADP in rookie drafts, because people had concerns over ADP health issues. I remember that ronnie brown and caddy williams were awesome can't miss players either. Now I wouldn't move the 1.1 for AJ in the leagues where I own the 1.1. if someone offered me 1.7 and andre and i needed wr I would think about it.

no one who owns 1.01 would trade it for AJ.

the only people siding with AJ are the people who own him and want to believe a fairy tale.

1.01 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AJ

i wouldn't even move 1.01 for AJ + 1.02

Richardson is a rare talent. his type only comes around a couple times every decade.

lol. anyone that would offer the 1.2 and andre for the 1.1 shouldn't play in dynasty leagues. 1 player does not a team make

At this point in Andre's career, I'd take the 1.01. He's an elite talent but can't seem to stay on the field, is on the downside of his career, and I think Schaub's injuries and the emergence of one of the best running games in the league could drop his production a little.

,,In a 12 team PPR dynasty I saw the 1.1 go for AJ +1.4. Now I believe TR is a dynamite talent but I also believe the sweet spot in this year's rookie draft is at 1.4-1.5 range. There will be great value there.

Yes, but the people who value Aj over Trent are a much smaller minority. In fact I'd be surprised to find any non-AJ owner who would value him over trich.

The poster asked about 1.01 for AJ straight up, and there were actually some AJ owners giving him horrible advice and recommending AJ.

I think AJ is going to have a good season 90 recs, 1200 yards and 8-9 tds. people don't realize how big he is, and how even when he slows down a bit will just be an amazing possession wr.

1.01 is easily more valuable than AJ, but 1.02 and AJ is a great deal for the 1.01 IMO. But that's sidetracking the thread I guess, so sticking to the OP I think we're in agreement that there's no way the 1.01 should be traded for AJ.

I moved the 1.03 and the 1.13 for Johnson a few weeks ago, and this is why. He's one of his generations great WRs and those guys tend to play longer. I think he's definitely going to produce when healthy for 2-3 years, and I like his chances as good as anyone not named Calvin or Larry to be a guy who might produce well into his mid 30s.ETA: there's such a gap between the 1.01 and the 1.02 this year that I still wouldn't trade Richardson for Andre.
