Welcome, outcasts, to the 2012 Anarchy League 5 thread.

Here is the league site: Anarchy League 5

The draft is scheduled to start Monday 7/23 at 8 AM Eastern time. If people want to start drafting now, I won't stop people from making picks.

The passwords should be the same as you had last year UNLESS you are new to this particular league this year. In that case, the password will be anarchy5.

A few of you were moved from League 4, so your password could very well be different.

Here is the randomly generated draft order:

1.01 IndyHavoc

1.02 Faux Bear

1.03 Benchwarmers

1.04 Real Men Of Genius

1.05 Honey Badger Don't Give a @#$!

1.06 Blinky The Three Eyed Fish

1.07 Instinctive

1.08 pigskinfanatic

1.09 Binky The Doormat

1.10 Sinrman

1.11 Dork Matter

1.12 SouthJersey

1.13 jsharlan

1.14 Butcher Boy

1.15 Muff Staches

1.16 firstseason1988

Any questions, post them here, in the Shark Pool thread, PM me, or email me.

Hoping the draft starts soon! Thanks David for organizing these.

Can I make a request that people not use NSFW team avatars? I opened up one of the other leagues at work and an enormous picture of a bunch of women with their naked #### hanging out came up on my screen.

Good to see many of you back. It was good competition last year.

Let's move at a decent pace this year. We were by far the last to finish last year.

Good luck to all of you.

not sure why more do not use pre-draft lists.
using the pre-draft list seems too tough in this scoring format since every position counts toward the score. i just started to write something here but i'll wait until the draft is over to share more thoughts on this...

I tend to agree that since everyone drafted is a starter, the margin for error is slim. In most drafts, you can draft your starters and take some flyers on guys that might pan out, guys coming back from injury, a few wings and prayers, etc. In this format, you really have to stop and consider how hurt someone is, will they make it through the enitre season healthy, how much playing time will they get, will they get a suspension, etc. In a "regular" league, it's really not that big a deal if your WR5 misses a few games or doesn't play much early in the year. In this league, that could kill you.

Yea, that, I learned this the hard way last year, my first year in this league, after drafting Chris Johnson early. Pretty much killed my season. That made me avoid a couple of guys so far in this draft, MJD for his holdout and Adrian Peterson for his recovery are examples. Boom or bust. Using the pre-draft list landed me Lynch though who could be suspended at some point this year. So yea, pre-draft list not so good.

Lynch, Marshawn SEA RB-11

Wells, Beanie ARI RB (O)-10

Jackson, DeSean PHI WR-7

White, Roddy ATL WR-7

Tamme, Jacob DEN TE-7

sigh... i forgot how much fun and frustrating it is to draft against fbg's. it's uncanny. players i had put in autopicks that I missed out on:Had Fred Jackson up at 4.09, someone took him at 4.04 and I ended up with Roddy White

Owen Daniels @ 5.08, gone at 5.02 I got Tamme

Reggie Bush @ 6.09, gone at 6.08 got Desean Jackson

Maclin also @ 6.09 as a backup to Bush, gone at 6.02

Denarius Moore @ 7.08, gone at 7.05, got Beanie

and last K Winslow whom I was sure will still be there into 9th gone at 8.01, had him up at 8.09 but got Santonio instead.

if lynch doesn't get suspended my first three picks outperform their adp by a mile and i'll be top half of the echelon. strategy is to draft for consistent production across all players on the roster rather than top producers in any given position. :bag:

The following teams have already used their flex spot:

IndyHavoc, HBDGAS, SJersey, Binky, and Firstseason.

Please make sure to conform to the roster requirements. Players drafted that would make for an illegal roster will be taken off the team and added back into the player pool and the owner forced to repick.

two more players to IR and mind as well put Jets D in that category with Revis out, 5 draftees out for the season. this is brutal.

Wells, Beanie ARI RB (I)

Holmes, Santonio NYJ WR (I)

Nelson, David BUF WR (I)

Bullock, Randy HOU PK (I)

Jets, New York NYJ Def

The Jets defense is not out for the season, as I think it's a safe bet to think that they will score more than 0 points the rest of the way. I agree that having a bunch of people going on IR early sucks big time.

Heading into the post season, only two teams are really in the running . . .

INDYHAVOC 3303.16

Colts, Indianapolis IND TMQB

Packers, Green Bay GBP TMQB

Peterson, Adrian MIN RB

Green, A.J. CIN WR

Thomas, Demaryius DEN WR

Broncos, Denver DEN DEF

Colts, Indianapolis IND DEF

BENCHWARMERS 3123.44

Dreesen, Joel DEN TE

Vinatieri, Adam IND PK

Packers, Green Bay GBP DEF

Realistically, IndyHavoc is going to win . . .

Muchas gracias. I hadn't looked at who else had good playoff players, but was hopeful I had my share of them. We'll see, all those guys could be 1 and done, and some big performances by the usual suspects like Brady, Manning, etc.

Where's my jelly beans! I want them shipped (COD of course) immediately! :P Was fun season to pop in and see how things were playing out.

Lol, looked back at the draft..my ultimate "oof" was really just a comment:

After taking ADP at 2.16, I write this....

Buyers remorse already. Shoulda took Murray just based off the fact he has a 50% better chance to be playing in the playoffs. (Comments Added Tue Jul 24 10:32:25 p.m. ET 2012)

that "mistake" is pretty much the reason I did so well. Funny how that works. My after-the-season Pick-of-the-Draft Award:

12.07 183. Sinrman Jones, James GBP WR 226.40 Pick made based on Pre-Draft List

That turned out nicely. Most big pt production after that pt was QB/PK/DEF. *golf clap to you, my friend*

Interesting look at how the season turned out (I'd like to have the time to look up draft position for all these) as far as top 60:

Not suprising, nearly half (27 of 60) are TMQB.

Only 5 of 60 are RB

10 TE's in top 60

16 WR's in top 60

And then there is the Bears, sliding into the top 60 on the year.

Obviously the huge amount of TMQB's makes it seem like waiting is the way to go, but then look at the pt spread between QB1 and QB27 (435.68 vs. 239.1). Nailing down one of the "elite" TMQB's in this format is still key, imo. Which means, in turn, having a draft slot that will allow you to get one (or hitting the jackpot at 3.09 with RG3!). Next to that, I think drafting 3 "reliable" but not elite TE's is another good strategy. Get guys that will compile pts in the middle/late rounds. So many TE's in this format score 150+ pts on season.

RB's really look marginalized in this format. Still important to hit on at least 1, but it just seems like trying to acquire 2 or 3 RB's in the first 3-4 rounds won't get you the total pts you need to compete. And, as in all leagues...you gotta have some luck with the health of your players. As Pigskin is obviously aware of :P .
