Doesn't mean much in my case...

BassNBrew

Jets, New York NYJ TMQB 27.74 - Liked this pick alot but this won't happen too often.

Ravens, Baltimore BAL TMQB 25.76 - Another late QB

Lewis, Dion PHI RB 0 - Poor pick that won't contribute

McFadden, Darren OAK RB 11.80 - We'll see

Pead, Isaiah STL RB 0.00 - Pick the wrong back-up. Likely a weekly donut

Vereen, Shane NEP RB 0 - Hurt

Brown, Antonio PIT WR 11.80 - Average week

Hill, Stephen NYJ WR 25.90 - Like the upside here

Moore, Lance NOS WR 24.00 - Undervalued pre-season

Rice, Sidney SEA WR 13.60 - Undecided

Sanders, Emmanuel PIT WR 9.50 - As expected will exceed the low pre-season projections

Wallace, Mike PIT WR 13.70 - Locked up the Pitt WRs hoping for post season action. hmmm...

Daniels, Owen HOU TE 16.70 - Good value as a late TE

Finley, Jermichael GBP TE 24.70 - As expected

Crosby, Mason GBP PK 2.00 - better days to come

Prater, Matt DEN PK 5.00 - ditto

Buccaneers, Tampa Bay TBB Def 10.00 - it's a def

Cardinals, Arizona ARI Def 10.00 another d

Starter Total: 232.2

Didn't hit on anything at RB which limits the upside of this team. I'll drift back to the 5-8th place range.

rules question just out of curiousity.....does the shovel pass to Crabtree for a TD count as a Team QB TD pass for GB...?

Nope. Similiar to a RB tossing a TD, points go to the individual, not team QB.

so if Benson was the holder he would get credit for a passing TD since he was drafted as an individual player....but if Rodgers was the holder he would not get points for a passing TD because he was not drafted individually...?

just FYI....I don't even think I have GB TMQB in any of these....but Hipple posted in a thread in the Shark Pool that he noticed he DID get credit for the fake FG TD towards his TMQB in an Anarchy League.....

Not sure where he is getting that from. I looked and Green Bay TMQB was credited with 219/1 . . . which is what Rodgers had. That's what is recorded for his team.

The way MFL has explained things to me is that if a player rostered on an NFL team takes a snap as a QB, then that counts toward a TMQB total. If a non-QB takes a snap and completes a pass that is not considered a TMQB play.I have no idea what they would do if a team's emergency QB was not a real QB (ie Edelman on the Patriots) and had to play in an emergency. Let's hope that situation doesn't materialize. As far as Tebow goes, they said if he lined up as a RB and was handed the ball from Sanchez that whatever happened from that point on would not count toward a TMQB total, even if Tebow ended up passing. It sounds like they will only allow one QB on the field per play.I don't make the rules, I just go with what they score them as.

no real dog in this hunt, but the bolded is a little confusing because any player could take a snap at QB...the first part says "player rostered" which could be any of the 53....Charles Woodsen could take the snap and it would count....he is a rostered player...and could play QB...and it would count as TMQB....Clay Mathews, whoever....by virtue of receving the snap, you are in essence the QB because you have all the abilities of a QB...the fact that we label guys as a punter or holder or place kicker or linebacker is just a designation we make....whoever takes the snap can do whatever they want....run/throw/etc...(have to report or whatever)...

then the second sentence seems to contradict the first sentence by going from rostered player to non QB....they should not even have the first sentence then....

in my mind....anybody that is receiving a snap is technically the QB on that play....it is an offensive play...so anything that is considered a "passing TD" should go to the TMQB stat....

like I said...not really argueing and don't really care....but just sayin I wouldn't have a problem with GB TMQB getting credit for a passing TD there.....cause it was....

just for discussion as well.... if Benson takes a toss from Rodgers and throws a TD I don't think that should go towards TEAM QB.....I believe once the ball leaves the hands of the person that received the snap (Rodgers), that second person (Benson) is not protected by the rules as a QB.....meaning, Benson could not be the recepient of a "roughing the passer" penalty, etc.....I believe....he could maybe get an unneccessary roughness penalty, but not a roughing the passer....

MFL seems to make a distinction that the guy receiving the snap be a QB. For example, if s non-QB takes a snap in a wildcat formation, I do not believe that player would earn TMQB points if he ran or passed . . . especially if the player were still on the field. My initial post intended to say that if the player involved in the play was not coded as a QB in the MFL system, it would not get scored as a TMQB play. So if Brady and Mallett got hurt and Edleman came in to finish the game, I don't know what they would do given that he is listed as a WR.Similarly, when the Pats lined up last week and ran a shotgun snap direct to Aaron Hernandez, that did not count as a TMQB play even though he was the one that received the snap.

Team QB is Team QB, to be honest regardless of how it is scored by MFL, a guy who threw a pass on a team as the guy who took a snap did not get credit for the score.

I own Rodgers in none of these and think it undermines the rule of team QB by not awarding points for the shovel pass to team QB.

Mr. Yudkin I think you are bound by the rules of the league to award the points, regardless of how MFL looks at it, they are not the people responsible for commishing these leagues.

If GB Team QB does not get credit for a TD, what is the point of the team QB then?

Blah blah blah so you dont have to draft a backup and will always have a QB, i get it, but still as far as scoring goes what is the point then?

For starters, I am not bound by anything. The GB play was definitely not a play by a QB, and we have been scoring that as a non QB play for the 10 year history of these leagues. The point of having a TMQB is to allow teams to get scoring from two teams at the QB position without having to draft backup QBs and prevent owners from hoarding QBs and thus preventing teams from blocking teams from drafting a QB. At no point was there any consideration of using a TMQB to get embroiled in weird plays that happen once every few weeks.

Let's not make this complicated. David puts a lot of time in setting this up so we can have some fun at no cost. Asking him to analyze every game log for weird plays isn't reasonable. However MFL decides to score it is fair enough in my book.

David....just checking....do the Anarchy's have that button checked on the Stats Change screen so that any scoring changes will automatically be applied throughout the year......obviously all the PIT TMQB's should be getting those extra points because of the scoring change..

eta: I think it has to be done before kickoff tonight for this week or it is too late or something.....

Thanks for doing this David. Bad year for me, not much to contribute. I'll have my finish non-top half finish in one of these leagues this year. Crappy draft spots, chasing playoff teams, and chasing TEs did me in.
