Ease up a bit.I've never been a ##### to anyone on these forums and I rarely mention anything about what I make unless it's directly related to topic or It's obvious FFA schtick (i.e. 500 Millions isn't enough for me to buy a lottery ticket or something)

In this case it's directly related to this topic. The amount of money she asked for was odd to me; no it isn't a lot of money for me per se but I don't have Chet-type-money.

This is the post I was referencing. It was douchey. I know it's the FFA, so it may have been sarcasm. Sorry if it was, I'm having a bad morning. Carry on.

PM sent. Hope that clears things up.

She's probably going to split the 3K with the bartender. I know that I obviously am not worthy to answer a question like this because I am just a teacher and we don't get bonuses. But, are you freaking stupid? I hope this is schtick because if you are even remotely thinking about doing this, you sir, are a moron.

Oh, and can I borrow 2K? I'm good people, so I'm good for it.

Here is how I would look at it... I never lend money that I can't lose. So if you aren't hurting for the $3000, and you think this girl might really need it, why not? Worst case, you don't get back the money you weren't hurting to lose. Best case, you help someone out in a tough situation and let her make "payments" to pay off the loan.

win-win

My grandpa drives a Lexus. Put your extra monies towards getting a respectable car first, THEN you can treat your bartender buddy and his asian girlfriend to a free vacation.

Pretty much the way I see it

clearly :fishing:

Not really much effort either...at least try to make it sound believable.

Can't wait to see what zany hijinx result from this $3000

The other thing that I always think about in these situations is that while I am not rich, I'm comfortable. It wasn't always that way. A few years back we ran through a terrible stretch of bad luck that almost cost us everything. We were as close as you could get to losing our house, pretty much everything. Wife came down with cancer, couldn't work... Ran into some other problems, like dominos. Before you know it, savings gone, not being able to make ends meet anymore. Luckily for us there were people who helped us through. If it weren't for the family and friends that helped us.. I don't know where we would be. It wasn't easy taking help from others. Now if someone needs help and I can financially can handle it, I will try to help them. Karma.

No that's my fault. I just thought it was something some people would get and others wouldn't. I didn't consider the negative connotation when I made the post.

This is pure awesomeness!!

Do it!

I'd find out what it's for and if she can really pay it back. And if it's a bill/s I would pay them directly rather than give the cash lo her.

Why would I? This is right up there with dropping cash at the casino - you just don't bring it up.

This to me is some of the most asinine tripe I've ever read. AZ, good for you that you're so wealthy that you wipe your ### with hundred dollar bills, but to most of us, 3 grand is not an insignificant amount of money. Unless you are leaving out important details, I see no evidence that this woman is worthy of this money over, say, a widow with kids who lost her husband in Afghanistan or someone facing a serious illness who lacks sufficient healthcare coverage. To name just two. All you've said is you think she's in a tough spot. She's hanging around a bar looking for guys to beg for money, she sounds like a dumb skank to me. All of this comes off as you bragging and you look like a huge jerkoff. Racks?? Really dude? Why don't you write a check for $3K and make it out to a local soup kitchen? Bonus, it's tax deductible. Actually scratch that, make it $25K since you wouldn't even notice 3 grand. Also, if you would actually give this person money without mentioning it to your wife, that sounds like a pretty ####ty marriage you've got there.

I could actually use a couple racks, myself -- I'll pm you my paypal.

just give me 'til the end of january, if you could.

I'll leave this pic of myself so it's not quite so impersonal.

Obviously there's no way to answer this correctly without pics. Just saying she's a FBG 7 isn't cutting it. Couldn't tell you one way or the other without more visual evidence whether it's worth it or not.

What was her response to the text?

you should check out th:e: other board...been a bit slow over there recently....

I love the outrage from the people who are jealous they don't have $3K to lend if necessary.
Close family or friend facing a true hardship, I have that and more to give. What is offensive to me is being so careless with money and bragging about it, when so many out there don't have a pot to piss in. Having money is a blessing, and just pissing away on some skank at a bar when others are more worthy to me is obscene.

Please link to me saying 3 grand is insigificant. I would not be hurt financially if she never paid it back, that doesn't mean it's insignificant. I don't 'make it rain' with thousands in the club. And what does being "worthy" have to do with it? I've known her for a few years, it's not likes she's a bar fly I met one night that started asking for money. Why are you so mad?

You're the only one sound like a jerk in this thread, guy.

What, exactly, makes her a "skank at a bar"?

How do you know that she's just "some skank at a bar" and that others are "more worthy?" Talk about offensive - your attitude here is obscene. It's not like some total stranger is asking him for 300 racks. You know nothing about this girl - but he does, and she's having financial hardships, and she is just asking for three racks.

You're willing to give it away, and your wife wouldn't miss it (not that you're even going to tell her). I'm doing very well by any reasonable standard, but there is no way I would even entertain this. And if you think you're getting a dime of it back, you're naive on top of everything else.

This is exactly how someone goes from being comfortable, to not so comfortable. Maybe AR plays for the NFL?

Are you not entertained?! Common! This is better than Maury.

Well she's hanging out at a bar, we've established that part. She sees someone she barely knows who drives a Lexus, so she concludes he's loaded, sits next to him and asks for a pretty substantial sum of money. You're right, now that I've worked through it, she sounds like a real peach.Maybe it's just me, I could be on the verge of losing everything, and I'd have more pride than to ask someone I barely know for money. I'd find it difficult to even ask my own family. Some people apparently have no shame.
