Earl Weaver passes at the age of 82 (1 Viewer)

:cry:Damn, damn, damn......I'm a 50 year old Orioles' fan so Earl was MY manager. I can usually write some kind of eulogy pretty quickly, but this both shocks and saddens me too much.

My fantasy team has been the

for 7 years now. Loved his book. I'll tip a pint for him today.

Born in '73. Earl was my first manager of my first team. Big three run homers in Memorial Stadium watching up in the general admission section. What a personality. He will be missed.

"The only thing Weaver knew about a curveball was that he couldn't hit one." Jim Palmer, circa mid 1970s...The Earl of Baltimore was one of a kind.

Was it really that bad between Weaver and Jim Palmer?Palmer still seems pissed after forty years. They mentioned how Palmer (who was a full foot taller than Weaver) used to deliberately stand on the rubber when Weaver would come out to pull him, just so he could tower over him even more.
