90. Denver - Phillip Thomas, S, Fresno State

Should be able to come in and immediately compete for a starting position at either FS or SS. Mike Adams is nothing special, and Rahim Moore may not be welcomed back in Denver....ever.

There were no elite DTs available, and there are still plenty of good beef guys for later rounds.

BTW, this was a steal.
I came super close to taking him. In fact, were I drafting for the Steelers in reality, I likely would have. Since it was a mock and I wanted to have some fun and possibly engender some conversation, I went with Goodwin instead.
You guys are systematically taking every player off my list.Definitely was the top name left on my list by a wide margin.

Andy here are all of the trades that were made:

***Houston gives: 2(57), 3(89), 6(185)

***Carolina Gives: 2(44), 4(105) and a 2014 7th

I traded St. Louis' 4th round pick away to move up in the first round.

4.1 - Jacksonville - Mike Glennon, QB - North Carolina State4.2 - Kansas City - Tyler Wilson, QB - ArkansasI want to put Gerald Hodges, OLB from Penn State to the Jaguars but given the slightest chance that Glennon is better than Gabbert the Jags would have to take him. Also, I don't think it would matter to Andy Reid if he'd gotten Alex Smith or Matt Barkley with that 2nd rounder. If there was another QB of this talent sitting there in the 4th he'd pounce. Or whatever sudden move walruses do make.

Ahem. They traded for QB Alex Smith AFTER you took this guy for them at the top of the second round:

Matt Barkley, QB - Southern California -

Somehow I just don't see KC taking a second QB after making the deal with SF for Smith where they NOW don't even have the second round pick that was used to take QB Matt Barkley.

Why not? 1) It's great value. The Redskins took Kirk Cousins in the 4th after they took RGIII in the 1st. Wilson was in the discussion for top QB in this class at one point, grabbing him in the 4th is awesome.

2) Alex Smith isn't an elite QB, he's the guy for right now. Wilson gives AR a very young QB with all the tools to develop whenever he needs him. This year if Smith falters or in the coming seasons.

You mean like Washington wouldn't take another QB in the 4th because they traded away three firsts to get Griffin? What I said was that Barkley or Smith...it doesn't matter. So they used a 2nd on a QB. Who cares?

Andy Reid picks up QBs like he picks up chicken wings. Having a guy this talented available to him in the 4th would be irresistable to him.

If you want to take him based off of value then fine and if you have Alex Smith INSTED of Barkley then I get it but I was counting like so:1. Matt Barkley

2. Trade for Alex Smith that we didn't know about at the time so no-one could count the Barkley pick against you

3. Tyler Bray

We have to assume some things but trades taking place in mid-mock are open to interpretation so my view of KC having three new QBs didn't make sense but you have it at only two then I'm fine with a value pick. :banned:

I dunno but kind of look at it like we're operating in a vacuum & the Smith deal is irrelevant . Either way but especially if Smith is considered KC I can't see them taking a QB here

Eh, I still like the pick but if it's not him then they'd potentially look at one of the ILBs like Kiko Alonso from Oregon, Nico Johnson from Alabama, or Jon Bostic from Florida.

Witth the 3rd pick in the 4th round Raiders select:

4.97 - Oakland - Jordan Poyer CB Oregon State

The Raiders need help all over the defense. The Raiders are at the bottom of the league at defense. They did show signs of life at the end of last season, but the defense lacks talent. The Raiders went throught a lot of CB's in 2012 due to injuries and looking for anyone that could play CB. At one point they moved their staring FS Huff over to CB.

I considered drafting a CB, DE, MLB, OG, or QB at this spot. Lots of holes to fill for the Raiders.

Here is what Draft Scout had to say about Jordan Poyers Strengths and Weaknesess:

Strengths: Balanced athlete with good closing burst. Tough and competes with very good eye discipline. Sets the edge and works hard to shed, playing stronger than he looks. Gets physical and matches up well with bigger receivers. Nice job reading the eyes of the quarterback and puts himself in position to make a play on the ball.

Willing run defender and throws his body around, taking accurate angles. Quick learner as a former safety, moving to cornerback in 2010 and starting the past two seasons. Good experience in zone coverage, often moving inside to cover the slot receiver. Leader of the secondary and a fiery player. Extensive special teams experience on kickoff and punt returns. Former Oregon State baseball player.

Weaknesses: Leaner frame with limited bulk, probably will never be able to gain 190+ pounds. Not a quick-twitch athlete and lacks natural explosion. Plays too far off the line of scrimmage to protect against speed, allowing too much of a cushion and conceding underneath throws.

Tends to bite on fakes and gets overaggressive at times. Streaky tackler and often lowers his head and whiffs in the open field. Can get caught with his eyes in the backfield too much and struggles to recover after false steps. Reliable return man, but not a dynamic performer in this area. Some minor character concerns after an arrest last May for a bar fight.

So far in this Mock Draft Raiders have selected:

1. Shariff Floyd DT Florida

2. Kyle Long OT Oregon

3. Jordan Poyer CB Oregon State

Maybe we should see if snotbubbles wants to take over the Eagles. He posted earlier today his thought on the Eagles. He thought the Eagles should go defense in the draft mostly. That being said I don't think E.J. Manuel would be a bad pick here. How long does Vick have? Not much in my opinion.

Minnesota Vikings select:Darius Slay, CB, Mississippi StateWinfield will probably be playing his last season and with Cook and Josh Robinson as youth at the corners, this would give them another corner to match up with all the WRs in the NFC North.

I will vote for BW Webb if he isn't gone. He might only be 5' 10" but posted a 40.5" vertical to go along with his 4.5 speed.

I like that and since FunkyP was going that way anyway. B.W. Webb, CB - William & Mary And for Arizona, since ebaughn never came back to fix that last pick...Kiko Alonso ILB Oregon

With the 7th pick in the fourth round the Cleveland Browns take:

Michael Buchanan, Illinois

6'5" Height

255LBS. Weight

Solid 2011 but down last year. Needs to add muscle/bulk. Displayed pass rush and violent hands.

Oh and Mayock has him listed as his fourth best 3-4 OLB so he likes him.

By far best value on my board at this point.

My link

3-4 Outside Linebacker

1. Dion Jordan, Oregon

2. Jamie Collins, Southern Miss

3. Barkevious Mingo, LSU

EJ Manuel is possibly the best QB in the draft. #######g highway robbery in round 4.
E.J. Manuel is one of my favorites as well. I like him more then other QB's drafted before him. I almost selected him for the Raiders.

Lol at EJ Manuel. Glad I could nail the first two for my beloved team. :bye: :banned:
Yeah. I don't know how we'd have been able to slot Eric Fisher to them without you.
Most wouldn't have taken him or backed it up with Warford. Now that someone blew a pick on Manuel we'll need all the O-Line we can get. Don't take it personal it's just a mock.
Hey Slider,I'm not taking a shot at you but I am curious as to who you wanted with the 3rd round pick. I think the Eagles have a dire need for an nose tackle but I'm not familiar with the DT that was taken or if they can play over the center. So just curious as to who you would have taken if you made the pick?

Nonsense. And if you read on you'll see that you're definitely in the minority regarding Manuel. As it so happens, I kind of agree with you as every time I watched him he seemed really mediocre. But his stock is on the rise.

No problem Bracie and thanks for all the time consuming work you've done in here. Very nice work.Swearinger, Honey Badger, Jenkins or Philip Thomas would all be better fits. We signed Dixon and fat guys are always available later. I also like Bray better than Manuel. Not a great big problem with the pick but our DB's are pathetic.

You think Fisher over Joeckel was a common thing?

I don't mind Fisher over Joeckel, but I think you screwed up following that with OL in the second. This team is in serious need of an infusion of talent on the defense, especially the secondary. 3 of your first 4 picks were offense and 2 of them are probably backups AT LEAST for next season, maybe more.
