Everybody gets all worked up over communist gulags in North Korea, but do you hear a peep over the rampant slaughter we see in Canada, Norway, or New Zealand? Bunch of hypocrites.

Hooray! Trump is close to getting North Korea to not denuclearize in exchange for having sanctions lifted!Sources are now saying the U.S. is no longer asking for total denuclearization. It took 2 1/2 years to finally realize this?

This is the problem. You write off foreign wars of aggression based on lies that killed/displaced millions as "flaws". You rationalize away all the senseless killing, violence and destruction like it's a storybook ending. It's incredibly arrogant. Go to Iraq and Libya and ask them what they think of this "free world". It's impossible to have a serious conversation about this when we are still beholden to this lie. Maybe this was true at some point, but it's not anymore. And it hasn't been for a long time now.And this is not true. Despite our flaws we have been, until this President, the leader of the free world and we have a responsibility to the world to remain so.
Futile meetings for photo ops that begin with the President lying about previous administrations while admiring Kim Jong. SIGN ME UP FOR THIS.ren hoek said:Adam Johnson
“Legitimizing”, “world stage”, “nothing in return”, slot machine of cliches that mean nothing and were, ten mins ago, used exclusively by the US rightwing.
Just a reminder that if a Sanders or Warren win in 2020 these same centrists war practitioners and neoconservative think tank hacks are going to use the exact same lines against them if they attempt deescalation with any Official Bad Guy
We know this because Fox News and John McCain and Mitt Romney did it to Obama for 10 years
You want to argue these summits are a futile waste of time? By all means. They probably are! But the idea that meeting unsavory world leaders is a scandal, some type of per se moral transgression is an existentially, fundamentally, categorically rightwing position.
Look whos actually protesting these summits in South Korea: it’s exclusively the far right. Look at the polls of South Koreans. Liberals and left are overwhelmingly in favor of them. Futile? Probably. But sinister? No, this isn’t a left or even liberal position.
I assume this is a rhetorical question. Is this really the kind of person you want leading the country for your children?
They are too busy in the AOC threads to care about what the actual president says and does.So Trump supporters are perfectly ok with Trump once again lying, this time about Obama getting turned down by KJU, regarding dealing with NK.
Even if you support Trump, does it give you any pause, the frequency he'll lie and the important subjects he'll lie about? Is this really the kind of person you want leading the country for your children?
of course notSo Trump supporters are perfectly ok with Trump once again lying, this time about Obama getting turned down by KJU, regarding dealing with NK.

Didn't they fire some sort of unknown missile in a missile test just a few months ago? There goes that talking point.
North Korea has suggested it might call off its 20-month suspension of nuclear and missile tests because of summertime U.S.-South Korean military drills that the North calls preparation for an eventual invasion. By @APKlug
Oh.....we are retrofitting all the "They haven't shot a missile in XX months!" to "They haven't shot a nuclear capable missile in XX months!" now? That qualification wasn't attached to the initial talking point. This thread is littered with those comments.Yeah, but there was debate whether it was a nuclear capable missile I think.
I just date itTim, did Trump just step into North Korea again or is your thread title way out of date?
If you are not willing to keep a thread title current, then just leave it generic, in this case North Korea Thread

Looks like Kimmy is back to showing off his toys again. Sad!
They’re also saying China violated their airspace as well. What the hell is going on?#BREAKING: Russian military aircraft violated South Korean airspace on Tuesday, ROK military said to have fired warning shots in response. Unprecedented.
Make thread titles great again. That is the greatest saber-rattling of all time.
IIRC it was a short range missile outside of the "agreement" scopeOh.....we are retrofitting all the "They haven't shot a missile in XX months!" to "They haven't shot a nuclear capable missile in XX months!" now? Probably one to put on their new submarine they are developing. Shouldn't be a big deal.IIRC it was a short range missile outside of the "agreement" scope
Not only that, the Russian and Chinese warplanes were flying together. They’re also saying China violated their airspace as well. What the hell is going on?
Despite President Trump’s summit diplomacy, security experts say recent satellite images show continued activity at North Korea’s key nuclear facilities
Over the past year, there have been handshakes, compliments and extravagant photo-ops—in Singapore, in Hanoi and even at the demilitarized zone separating the two Koreas.
President Trump’s summit diplomacy has raised hopes around the world: Is North Korea now willing to surrender its nuclear arsenal?
Analysts who pore over satellite images of the isolated country paint a different picture: North Korea’s scientists have ramped up production of long-range missiles and the fissile material used in nuclear weapons.
Shipping containers, trucks and crowds of people moving materials and instruments at North Korea’s key weapons facilities like the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center and the Sanum-dong missile production site, suggest North Korea has continued producing fissile material and intercontinental ballistic missiles, according to analysts Jenny Town, a fellow at the Stimson Center, a think tank specialized on security issues, and Jeffrey Lewis, a researcher at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, a research center analyzing the spread of weapons of mass destruction.
Analysts at the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency say North Korea’s scientists may have produced 12 nuclear weapons since the first Trump-Kim meeting in Singapore last year. In total, Pyongyang could currently possess between 20 and 60 nuclear bombs, according to estimates by various security analysts.
President Trump has played down evidence gathered by security analysts that North Korea is continuing its nuclear operations, saying in a recent televised interview that Kim “promised he wouldn’t do it.” And Pyongyang has remained silent on the status of its nuclear and missile programs.
In this explainer video, WSJ takes a closer look at satellite imagery to better understand what North Korea has been doing with its nuclear arsenal since it started to engage in dialogue.
If the sub can launch missiles that is a serious game changer.Probably one to put on their new submarine they are developing. Shouldn't be a big deal.
I don't think that's correct. It's not a problem until they shoot the missiles....I think that's how it goes.If the sub can launch missiles that is a serious game changer.
Which, like recent launches by NK and Iran will continue to be ignored.
What about the other 8 - 48 nuclear weapons they already had? They were building them before, they will continue to build them until someone forcibly stops them.
Combined, North Korea could have between 20 and 60 nuclear bombs, the newspaper also reported, citing estimates from security analysts
My boy, Trump?Ask your boy, Trump? He promised denuclearization. He said he was besties with Kim?
They better get going on the rest of them. The next summit will be here before you know it.
I wouldn't say nothing has changed. But, what would lead you to believe that NK would stop building nukes? You'd have to be pretty naive to think that.So you agree nothing has changed and N. Korea is continuing to build nukes.
Maybe he will get another letter in a nice, big envelope.Looks like little kimmy has Trump all figured out.
That's what they say. Trump called Kim and he said no way. Who are you gonna believe?Yonhap News Agency

You never answered why you said "my boy Trump"?
