wow, love how the other guy added in the couple 1sts. as if the trade wasn't lopsided enough.

16 Team PPR/IDP (1.5 per tackle, 4 per sacks)

Team A got:

Brian Cushing

D.J. Swearing

Damontre Moore

2014 Pick 2.07

Team B got:

Arian Foster

C.J. Anderson

Sent 2015 1st (projected 8-12)

Josh Boyce

For

2015 1st (projected top 6, more likely top 4)
I like it. These are the kinds of deals I look for every time I have a late 1st. In this case, you aren't even giving a pick THIS year so it's even better. Anything can happen for you here, but Boyce is quite a small price to pay for the increased chance at a much higher pick.

14 team PPR. Devy league (Watkins, Lee, Seastrunk already rostered)

Gave:

Crabtree

Rookie 1.01

Rookie 1.12

Got:

Dez

Rookie 2.14

QRRWWWTF 12 Tm 1.0 PPR

Gave: J.Reed, 1.08, 2nd (2015)

Got: Gronk, 3.05, 3rd (2015)
Steal for Gronk considering Reed's red flags are every bit as serious IMO.
I actually think Reed's flags are more serious. But I'm scared of concussions, moreso than a freak injury like a torn ACL. This is Reed's 3rd concussion.
I think they're overblown. This time last year peops were fretting over Shady and Short's concussions. Shady had one that kept him out for a month, and Shorts had back-to-back ones end his season. They were fine this year from a head injury perspective.

I will say a steal for Jeffrey.
But he jumped from 2.3 to 2.2!!!!!11!!Is the flex qb at least? A little better if that's the case

I don't think it's overblown at all. If Shady or Shorts had another concussion this year, or two of them, it would be another story.

You are right that they are overblown as long as they don't get any more of them. But that is no certainty.

In the past I would have agreed 100%, but I'm beginning to wonder if concussions are the new ACL tear. 2+ years ago players' values would be absolutely crushed when they suffered an ACL injury. Then players like Brady, Welker, Charles, etc all started coming back arguably better than ever. There should be some change in value, but the market tends to overreact to these things.

There are levels of concussions though. If a guy gets a concussion and is back the next week, I wouldn' worry too much about it.

But when a guy gets a couple, and is missing multiple weeks, I would be pretty worried that if he gets more he might be looking at extended time off, or be done all together.

I actually think it is trending the opposite way you are suggesting.

On the topic of concussions, I was the side moving Reed in this deal:

QRRWWWTF .75/1/1.25 PPR 14 TM - DEVY

Gave: 1.09 Devy, 2nd
Got: Jordan Reed, 3rd
It was actually Reed and the 3.05 rookie pick for the 1.10 devy pick and the 2.11 rookie pick.

I originally traded for Reed the week after his first concussion assuming that he would bounce back quickly. That didn't happen. A part of me wanted to keep him and let his value repair itself so I could either use him in my lineup or trade him for a much higher price down the road. The other part of me thought maybe I should just cut my losses and get something decent for him while he still had some trade value. I didn't initially realize that he had a concussion history. One concussion doesn't worry me, but a pattern of concussions paired with words like "specialist" and "lingering" is disturbing.

I think he's kind of a "swing" player right now, meaning he could end up being massively valuable or totally worthless. I was a big time buyer of Jahvid Best when he was entering the NFL draft and his ultimate failure crushed several of my teams. I know from first-hand experience what can happen with a guy like this. He can disintegrate into nothing almost overnight. On the other hand, he could bounce back and stay healthy for years. In that case he'll easily be worth more than a compromise price. I still think it makes sense to value him somewhere in the middle.

I don't think the concussion fear is totally unfounded. Just like with character issues or other injuries, you have to try to determine whether the setback is an isolated incident or part of a pattern. In Reed's case the slow recovery and past concussions has me thinking there's at least some chance that this is more of a Jahvid Best/Austin Collie thing than a one-off Shady McCoy thing.

Some guys are more prone to getting concussions. Just hard to figure out who those guys are. Really no way to know. Just the fact that a guy has a couple concussions while another guy doesn't won't really tell you this, since they all take different hits.

BUt when a guy has several concussions and long delays coming back from them...................they are not on my list of targets

QRRWWWTF 12 Tm 1.0 PPR

Gave MJD, Boykin

Received Ray Rice (and Lance Moore who I consigned to the WW)

I have Pierce on my roster and I'm painfully weak at RB, so worth the gamble Rice turns it around

.5 PPR.

Gave:

Eddie Lacy

1.7

Received:

1.1

Antonio Brown

Hard to give up a stud RB like Lacy, however his constant injuries turned me off enough to take the trade when offered.

In a non-PPR (Zealots Field) league I'm in, though not involved in the deal:

RGIII

for

2014 2.02 and 2.03 rookie picks

CJ Anderson for Jonathan Franklin swap between Moreno and Lacy owners
I may be wrong.....but isnt moreno a free agent??
He is
No he's not. Denver has a club option @ $1.31 million in 2014; based on the way Moreno played I'd think they'll keep him around for another year. That's peanuts for a solid starter at RB.
Is so. The team voided the option somehow.

Also check out Cecil Lammey's twitter: "there's confusion about it online, but yes - Moreno is a free agent in 2014."

In a contract Dynasty League ($1,000 cap)

Gave: Matt Forte ($140, 1 season remaining), 2014 4.02 ($4 contract for 3 years)

Received: Jimmy Graham ($167, 1 season remaining), 2014 2.02 ($12 contract for 3 years)

12 team league.

Main pieces on my roster

Brees

Stacy, LeV Bell, Doug Martin

Demaryius T, Andre J, Reggie W

Graham, Finley, Heath M

Picks 1.12, 2.02, 3.04, 4.04, 4.05, 4.07

Start 1 QB/2 RB/3 WR/1 TE and 2 FLEX RB/WR/TE - NO DEFs, no Ks

Can give more info on my roster and salaries if anyone needs it!

I won the championship this year and will be losing Charles Clay, Anquan Boldin, V-Jax and a couple of others to the FA pool as they aren't worth the tag prices!
