This one might be the hardest one yet. Very similar to last year's contest in terms of pricing the bye weeks differently

And boom goes the dynamite

Edit: Already set mine for the first time today. Will probably update 4 more times today. And then repeat that every day for the next month.

First time through, $8 left and only one bye week issue at K. Spent the $8, swapped out a K and calling it a day. Seemed much more forgiving to me than past years.

First try - 22 players, no real bye week issues if I survive week 4.

virtually no chance this is my final roster, but I'll keep it for now.

First try - 33 players, $351 spent. No real bye week issues. Should be gtg. Championshi.... hey.. what's that red text say?

You forgot to add Josh Gordon for $2.
As David said, there are always players like that we leave off. It's no fun when 80% of the rosters include a player that skyrockted in value in mid August.

But I've always thought it would be fun to add some type of twist where you got bonus points or something the earlier you locked in your roster. I doubt we'd ever do it as David and Doug might kill me but that always has felt like a fun twist to me.

Yeah a guy like Gordon is a binary 1/0 play. Really you could only charge full price for him or not include him at all like you guys did.

And of course there still will inevitably be arbitrage possibilities anyway with training camp injuries and the like.

The David Wilson news today is a reminder of how quickly things can change in the offseason. If this went live tomorrow they'd remove as an option to enter.

This would be incredible if it could be figured out, but would likely be a nightmare to implement.

You'd be crazy to submit your entry early. Things change so much every day. You lose guys due to injuries and other players become relevant due to other peoples injuries. People would be getting so mad that they already have no shot at winning even though the season hasn't started. It would not be pretty.

We have a fair amount in common.

I think if you're not going with 1 stud QB, the Cutler/Romo pairing is very cost effective. Ray Rice in that new offense and only missing 2 games is tantalizing at that price... but he could easily bust again... not sure if I'm going to stick with him or not. Lawfirm isn't dead yet and a value at $2, I expect he'll be one of the most rostered dudes. Dez is set to explode this year imo, I bet he is a popular choice for a stud WR. Cotchery... well someone has to catch the ball down there, and he's a decent bet at $4. Legatron is a must have for me, cause he's legatron. Steelers seem like a value for a $3 defense.

I'm sure by the close of August I'll feel very different about a lot of this, but I'm not suprised we have some much overlap at the moment.

If I were you, I'd move some $ from QBs to WR and especially TE. At least 1 TE gets scored every week, and remember they get 1.5 points per reception. You'll never have more than 1 QB scored any week, so there is probably some dead money there in this setup.

ETA: You're obviously a Jets fan... tell me more about Cumberland, you expecting big things?

thanks for the tip on the te, I didn't pay much attention to the extra ppr bump

i've been playing the contest for a few years now, i guess I should read the rules ;)

from what I have read amaro has had a slow camp with just learning the pro game as a rookie,

cumberland is steady for $2 hes a bargain, knows the offense, is a vet who should be productive

I am totally biased but the jets D is a bargain, the unit is really good...

I think there is a lot of value at TE this year. I really want Gronk, but it may limit my opportunity to take advantage of it. I don't think I can afford to go Gronk, Rudolph, Rivera or anything like that even with 1.5ppr and flex.

I'm probably switching out Pitts already. I know week12 isn't much of a bye week issue, but I can't see any defense worth choosing a late bye. I usually need the points badly in weeks 10-12 if I get there.

Week 9 might hurt.

Historically, guys don't post entire roosters. Generally just allocations by positions. We are competing with eachother, so why tip your hand even with early submissions?

I will give you my rationale:

1) My final rooster will look much different, it is a grower not a shower.

2) Small % of contest participants even look at this thread let alone actively read it.

3) I am interested in some fliers that others are noticing, only works if enough people are willing to share some information. Effectively think the wisdom of the crowd is probably better than my initial takes.

4) I've had enough historical success in this contest ;)

I got ya.

Wow no Gordon lottery ticket? He might play half the season. They can't suspend him for 16 games for smoking weed and give Ray Rice 2 games for knocking his girlfriend out. That's f**ked.

A couple of comments.

- Cam Newton will be heavily rostered.

- Jonathan Stewart is a $1 more than David Wilson. That sounds about right.

This has less to do with the actual infractions/punishments and more to do with the uncertainty. If they included him at a lower price that reflected his risk of suspension and he didn't get suspended - then everyone would have him. If he did get suspended 16 games, then no one (virtually no one?) would have him. It just isn't interesting if it is a binary outcome like that.

Same. Except for 4. I've never finished in the money and have no reason to think it's likely this year. Feel free to copy what I posted, I've already changed it 7 times since then.
