Draft starts today at 10am with a 2 hour clock that will run 9-9 edt. Will be off on weekends. Pre-draft is your friend. Would like to finish the week if possible. I'll pick for Mr. Irrelevant until he gets back. Everyone got a pm except for Mr. I who's box is full.

commish password is fbgmbsl2

If you timeout you will get a pick based on fantasy sharks current rankings.

Not sure why I am not getting e-mails when picks are made. Nothing in my spam folder and usually don't have this problem with MFL.

I was having the same problem for the mbsl's. Had to add my email into the franchise info
yep. Add your email and click the "update draft status" under contact info.
:bag: forgot the e-mail address wasn't in there.
Yeah, I don't have them all memorized.

No need to post picks here guys. This draft was organized with the understanding it's 100% mfl.

Off to a good start. Hopefully krs doesn't time out. Was worried that several people would forget and time out. Really would like to shoot for about 3-4 rounds a day.

Mr. Ir - Clean out your pm box. I tried to send you a message this morning. Based on your earlier post, I thought you didn't have access today so I picked for you. You good to go from here?

Yeah, thanks for the heads up. Good deal on the predraft list ... got in 1/2 hour before it got to me and saw it was exactly who I'd have put in there anyway, so I didn't even bother changing it. :D

Hate getting an email for every pick. You can set it to email just when you're OTC though.

May have reached a little for Foles, but sometimes have to at the turn, especially in a 16 teamer. QBs are a bit of a premium with the scoring setup.

Can't complain about much yet.
solid start for sure.

Forte - pretty easy pick at #4

AlMo - frankly I expected him to be taken before the 3rd, happy with him as my RB2

Cobb - seems I always take him when I have a late 2nd

Wallace - big play guy, likely in for a better year

VDavis - only league I've taken him in, just wanted a safe TE here

Drew Brees

DeMarco Murray

C.J. Spiller

Cordarrelle Patterson

Justin Hunter

Jordan Reed

I guess I'm going with youth and high upside with my WR's and TE's. Drew Brees is Drew Brees. DeMarco Murray was #4 in this league at the RB position in PPG. His only knock is staying healthy. C.J. Spiller is a solid #2 RB. He will have some very big scoring weeks and then have some low scoring weeks. I need to land a solid #3 that can pick up the slack for Spiller on the few weeks he does score low. I was kind of surprised to land Jordan Reed at the end of the 5th round, because he went mid 4th round in MBSL1.

Love, love, love this start in this format. Two studs in Brees and Murray, then nothing but high-upside guys behind them. I'm learning there's really no point in playing it safe in a survivor league.

I've decided to draft my MBSL squad in keeping with the Bamac Theorem: It's really easy to get through the first few weeks of a survivor league.

I would like to say that I planned this, however, I just predrafted some guys and that's who was on the board when my time came,

Interesting but a debatable point. You need upside for sure, but having a few safe picks / high floor type guys IMO is a good base.

He has two with Brees and Murray, but the other 4 collectively are just a bit riskier than I'd like. There is something to be said for potential big weeks and immunity, but it wouldn't surprise anyone if Patterson, Hunter and Spiller all had a couple bad weeks in a row. Or if Reed is out during those weeks. You play to win these things, and his team looks like it's well on its way to that possibility, but I personally would feel better about this team if one of the 4 riskier guys were replaced with a 3rd safe pick.

Stafford, Matthew DET QB 425.40 9

Bell, Le'Veon PIT RB 218.90 12

Thomas, Demaryius DEN WR 319.00 4

Walker, Delanie TEN TE 213.10 9

Seahawks, Seattle SEA Def 193.00 4

Not a Bad start, The early run on WRs was insane so hopefully I got 2 relatively safe plays at RB. Not real high on my TE, but one thing I have learned in these drafts is you have to reach for TE or take your chances later.

I think we're both partially right. The best-ball aspect of these leagues argues for upside over high floor, while the survivor aspect argues for the reverse.

I'm pretty confident that the larger rosters (20-24) relative to the number of scores each week in the WSLs and PDSLs supports more of a dart-throwing approach. With 18 spots in this league, I'm not so sure. But - as you can see from my MBSL roster so far - I'm certainly drafting as though I was. :D

To wit:

PLAYER 2013 YTD PTS BYE

Dalton, Andy CIN QB 4

Kaepernick, Colin SFO QB 8

Ball, Montee DEN RB (P) 4

Hyde, Carlos SFO RB - 8

Sankey, Bishop TEN RB - 9

Crabtree, Michael SFO WR 8

Harvin, Percy SEA WR 4

Gronkowski, Rob NEP TE (Q) 10
Let's just say it's not the sort of roster I expect to finish 7th or 8th with.

:wall: I finally decide to take the gamble with Gordon. Shouldn't have left it on pre-select. :wall:
it was going to be at least 8 games no matter what.....anybody in their right mind knew that....which wouldn't have made him available to anybody until:

####### WEEK 10......

people can argue all they want that about "half a season of Josh Gordon is better than anything else I probably could have gotten with that pick anyway".....blah, blah, blah....

I call BS.....especially in this format where you can be eliminated ANY GIVEN WEEK....those "scrap" points you may have gotten from the guy you should have taken there......might have saved your bacon a few weeks and allowed you to advance....

IMO....those drafting Gordon were going for the shock-factor grandstanding "ohhhhhh...I'm a gambler, look at me approach"...."I play to win"....blah blah blah.....everybody plays to win...

bottom line: in was a horrible pick in these survivors and in the anarchy's.....and it still is.....nothings changed.....rosters spots are too valuable.....especially in these survivors where you can be eliminated every week.....in the anarchy's, maybe if you hit on everything else and you stay healthy you can compete....but 18 rosters slots in these.....just plain stupid....IMO....

I wasn't going for shock value. I was going risk/reward.

Got burnt, moving on after venting just about the timing - my own fault for pre-selecting.

I understand and my post wasn't directed solely at you....this conversation has been had in many of these draft threads.....

QB Foles (7) 3.01

RB McCoy (7) 1.01

RB L. Miller (5) 7.01

RB M. Ingram (6) 8.16

RB S. Jackson (9) 9.01

WR V. Jackson (7) 2.16

WR K. Wright (9) 5.01

WR B. Cooks (6) 6.16

TE K. Rudolph (10) 4.16

Lot of things I like about this start. It's nice having four guys who are technically the RB starters on their team- amazed to get two of them at the 8/9 turn. Foles was a bit of a reach at the 2/3 turn, but I knew that QB quality would be much lower at the 4/5 turn and with 6 point TDs felt like I had to take one there. Plenty of upside with Rudolph but my gut tells me he's ranked about right as a middling TE1- appropriate value at 4.16 with at least a little room for upside.

Not too excited about my WRs but I like Wright higher than where he's going for PPR. WIll need to hit on someone in these later rounds.

My first three picks have the same bye- week 7 could be tough.

I'm going to allow the OldMil pick this one time only since he was evidently in the process of picking when the clock expired.

Going forward, when you time out you'll be assigned a player based on FS rankings. You are not allowed to change that pick.

USE THE PRE-DRAFT function!!!

Allow the system to automatically pick a player for the owner based on the highest-ranked available player, on the owner's "My Draft List" player ranking, and then once that list is exhausted, according to rankings generated by Fantasy Sharks.
This is how it will go down after a timeout.

QB - Drew Brees NO - 6

QB - Carson Palmer ARI - 4

RB - DeMarco Murray DAL - 11

RB - C.J. Spiller BUF - 9

RB- Khiry Robinson NO - 6

WR - Cordarrelle Patterson MIN - 10

WR - Justin Hunter TEN - 9

WR - Dwayne Bowe KC - 6

WR - Jordan Matthews PHI - 7

TE - Jordan Reed WAS - 10

Why can't you make a replacement pick (obviously from the currently available player pool)?

What type of butterfly effect would this cause?

What if the guy after you wanted the autopick you replaced? I could see an argument for simply skipping a pick and allowing folks to make it up later, but replacing autopicks can be messy.

In this case, it was pretty obvious you were actively trying to pick as time expired, and posted immediately, but this draft moves too quickly for it to be so neat every time.
