Tim- people can suck. Especially anonymous board people. Hell, that isn't even true any more. See comments on any online newspaper article, YouTube- even the Facebook. A lot of miserable folks looking for a way to feel better about themselves. They are lost in that regard.

I don't get involved in a lot of regular give and take on here any more. I find it exhausting. How you and several others on here maintain the numbers that you do is beyond me. There is so much else to do.

Maybe it's a good time to find other things to occupy some of your time. #### those guys.

Agree totally. Don't sweat it, Tim. If people are upset with what you have to say, that's on them.

I'm not going into that thread, but don't understand people who make these kinds of comments on internet boards. I'd ignore, keep bein' your crazy posting self.

I personally think you're a collective troll, and that these fishing guilt trips are bull####.

That is all.

Are you serious with this thread Tim?

I'm not someone who stalks you, follows you, or even dislikes you. I engage in conversation with you and I could care less about your post frequency too... A thread like this is what annoys me. I'm fairly certain about 1/3 of this board really dislikes me, however if I am going to stop posting or take offense to it bc of any of them, well that makes me a huge #####. Fortunately I am not.

I don't even know why those comments would bother you. I wouldn't sweat it, change the title of this thread to HARD DELETE, and move on.

I have a lot of flaws. Sometimes I tend to argue minor points which are unnecessary. Other times I bring up stuff which I think are facts but don't always turn out to be vetted. I can be, at times, rude and insulting without meaning to do so
Try to do better on these and you're going a long way to remove the criticism.

What to do about your trolls/stalkers I have no idea, but they are a large part of the perceived issue.

Just MHO

I hope you stick around tim. you've grown on me, and I think you're smart. Just hope I could get back to maybe discussion in threads that interest me that you haven't taken over with you and your followers. Which is nearly ever major thread here (if you look at post count, you lead the post count in nearly every hotly debated topic that there is by a LOT). I don't know how you have time to take a dump during the day

And it's an onslaught of 12 straight hours almost daily of point-counterpoint. Would love to get involved with some discussions where it's not just flooded between you and your followers back and forth. Maybe stopping in the threads you love once or twice a day instead of just yammering on all day long and burying all other discussions which is what has happened. I loved the thread re: the end of the Cold War, but just didn't want to dare jumping in and engaging you in a 24/7 back and forth along with all of the followers as well. I play the Blues, would have loved to jump in that thread, but really just get discouraged from stating a contrary opinion in any thread that you are peacocking around in.

Stick around, scale it back JUST a little bit and you might even get more opinions would be my only wish. You've got something you love to debate, maybe pop in twice a day, and address anything you'd like instead of the onslaught of stream of consciousness and post after post after post which dims everyone else. Either way, I think you have some impulsion to post/respond here that, from where I sit, seems borderline unhealthy - far be it for me to judge, and sorry if I come off as harsh. I try to level with you more than insult you these days. I will continue to cull any personal criticism I've levied in your direction - I apologize for doing so.

IMO while I don't read those threads much as it's more distressing than informative when you see attacks, I would say just let it go. I used to be the subject of a lot of attack on fft and still sometimes am even here. I used to be so sensitive to it but have long ago realized that who gives a ####. It's a public message board with people you don't know. Some threads are informative and you can learn and maybe contribute something and some are just not worth the headache. This is why I won't do what SaintsInDome2006 asked in that Sydney Cafe thread and create a separate Iran thread. Looking at what started in there, veering off and all, it's not worth the headache. Anyone has any questions for me about my experience, PMs are fine.

Some people here have class and manners and there are always those who don't. Those who attack the person rather than the just the subject matter have a lot of issues in their lives. So rather than get riled up about it which it's been a very long time for me, I just feel sorry for them.

Don't take a message board so seriously. Take you real life seriously for that's what really matters.

I have found that you can be very insightful at times and others it is just overkill. Over the years i have just began to skip your post because of the latter. I don't think you are a bad guy and we are all entitled to our opinions. Don't let it bother you, there are many others i would rather just go away rather than you. :hifive:

The way you state your opinions (and the opinions themselves) causes threads to become about you and those opinions. Sometimes people want to discuss the topic and not your stance on that topic, but it happens in every thread you dominate.

This isn't your family, or even close friends. So if you're getting something out of your participation here, that's all that should really concern you. Nobody is forced to read your posts, it's pretty trivial to skip them if you want. There's a lot worse behavior that goes on here compared to what you do. Getting upset about what's posted on an anonymous message board is pretty silly.

I think it's deliberate, and I think the people who run the keys to Tim know exactly what they're doing. It's exclusionary at best, and just warped at worst. They're #######s. I have no problem saying that about trolls.

Some people here have a major hard-on for you Tim. I've never understood the amount of vitriol you draw so keep on keepin' on.

Especially if you are going to keep drafting such ####ty WIS basketball teams!

Wow. You appear to really believe I am some collective group of trolls trying to ruin the FFA? This isn't shtick?

Nope. Think whoever gets the keys to Tim runs Tim. It's especially apparent in your literate/grammatical moments/non-moments.

Sometimes they hand the keys off to a guy who can't DO BASIC ENGLISH GOOD.

Tim, I've found some what you post to be irritating but that can be said for many posters on this board. Sometimes I actually agree with you. I've never understood the outrage some posters show towards you.

I've found there's a certain contingent of people who like to pile on regardless of the situation. These are probably the same people who bullied the nerd in high school. The issue is with them, not with you.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I don't think that some of the criticism is that off base. Reginald Cornsilks, avoiding injuries and Groovus in particular have given me much to consider...

I agree with this. Part of the problem comes when Tim will dismiss any view but his own as not important or not worth discussing because he doesn't find it interesting, so tries to direct any thread he is passionate about in the direction he wants instead of letting it flow.

Wouldn't want Tim to leave, he is a fairly intelligent poster who gets passionate about topics. I agree he wouldn't take as much flack if he scaled it back and little and just put the strikes2k type on ignore...the back and forth that ensues is part of the push back.

For me it's like the somewhat smart kid in class who can't seem to refrain from always commenting or raising his hand. All. The. Time. He may be smart, may have something to contribute. But it's tiresome and often he thinks he's more enlightening than he actually is.

I don't think you are a troll. I don't think you are insincere and I think the Tim-hate here is both easy and low brow. But, if you really feel that every post or opinion or analogy or statement is so important to the discussion that you have to make it public, and most other people are sick of it, then you're the kid in school who won't #### and realize he's not as insightful or helpful to the conversation as he thinks he is.

It's true. Lots of followers on this board. I actually imagine them as the dorky guys who followed the bullies around wishing they could be as "cool" as the bully.

Hasn't this been done before? You state you will try and change yet nothing does. People have offered helpful advice in the past and for a day or two you may listen but then it is back to the same routine.

Whether or not someone can change or not and for how long doesn't justify vicious attacks. Pretty much everyone here is passionate about what they write and feel strongly about their opinions and what they write to some degree. For some it is hard to dial it down and well so what? I don't get why if someone annoys you so much they should be attacked. Can't you ignore them or just ignore the posts? No one is forcing you to read every post in said threads... Behind the screen names here is a person at the end of the day. Attack the subject matter, not the writer and if you can't do that, skip that post.

Also consider this: if you attack the person your point will definitely not be considered which is what you want, no?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I don't think that some of the criticism is that off base. Reginald Cornsilks, avoiding injuries and Groovus in particular have given me much to consider...
Hasn't this been done before? You state you will try and change yet nothing does. People have offered helpful advice in the past and for a day or two you may listen but then it is back to the same routine.
THIS CONVERSATION WAS OVER AS SOON AS THE TROLL WAS MENTIONED!!! NEVER MET ANYONE! HAD CHANCES! POSTS 88,000 IN A FEW YEARS. NO COLLECTIVE, NO BOT, NO NOTHING, JUST TIM.

ALL TIM.

JUST TIM.

ALL HAIL TIM.
As much as you say Tim doesn't get it- you just may be part of the perceived "problem with Tim" and don't get that. You are well on your way to making this thread about you. Just sayin'...

if you look at post count, you lead the post count in nearly every hotly debated topic that there is by a LOT
decided to take a look at this with a sample of active threads on the first page that seem like ones Tim would post in

Thread 1: Thank Obama For Higher Gas Prices (tim has 8 of 270 replies)

Thread 2: Taliban Kill 126 (tim ranks #1 with 31 of 251 replies)

Thread 3: I really like Elizabeth Warren (tim ranks #1 with 55 of 523 replies)

Thread 4: Can the killing of innocents ever be justifiable? (tim ranks #1 with 9 of 64 replies)

Thread 5: Lies about Hitler (tim ranks 8th with 71 of 1861 replies)
I own that thread.

Eighty-one plus THOUSAND posts. Dude, you might be trying too hard. Yes you are a well educated sonofa#####, yes you are passionate - but you are killing me with the sheer weight of your insight. It is okay to not be the expert on everything (coming from a guy name Mr. Know-It-All).

Timmy, pay no attention to what these clowns are saying. There are about a half dozen people here who post nonsensical crap and stupid comments in just about every thread, just about every day, but the people who criticize you have no issue with them. I think most of this is from disagreeing with your opinions more than anything else.

Keep doing what you have been doing. If they don't like it, they can put you on ignore and/or scroll past any responses to your posts. No one is forced to read anything you write (although some act like they are).

I'm sort of uniquely sensitive to that type of stuff, even down to reading cross-threads and the like. I don't think tim is a legitimate person. I speak up. That's it. I don't follow Tim around nor post in all of his threads, as a lot of them don't appeal to me. I'm being declarative, but I think there are a lot of trolls and aliases on the board and that they try to steer and shape discussion. That's my opinion, and if I find people I take at face value, I think they know it.

eta* I never said Tim doesn't get it. On the contrary, I think whoever drives tim gets it uniquely.

i think this criticism is also true. I have tried to change somewhat here, and I have failed in the past. I am who I am. But I really agree that it is unnecessary for me to always state my opinion- I really am just as interested in other people's opinions. I'm going to try withholding my own POV and instead try to encourage others to clarify theirs. That can also lead, hopefully, to interesting discussions and debates (which is my goal) without the appearance of me trying to dominate the conversation.
