WHERE DID THIS THREAD GO!?!one!1!!

Hi y'all -- sorry for the trouble.

I've been researching how to make our forums faster and more responsive over the last month. The performance of our forums, though never particularly speedy, had become uniformly slow with occasional unpredictable and excruciating delays. So I asked the folks at Invision Power, the forum software's authors, to dig in and make some recommendations on how we can speed the site up.

They recommended a number of infrastructure and settings changes which we've implemented in this upgrade. More performance upgrades will be coming when Invision releases their 4.0 version later this year. But their most significant recommendation -- more important than all the others combined -- was that we needed to archive and reopen the board's largest, most trafficked, and most loved threads.

There are fifteen threads that account for over 845,000 of the board's 13,000,000 posts and they've been viewed nearly 13,000,000 times. These threads have grown so large and they are loaded so often that their performance impact on the board can't be properly normalized. This is one of those fifteen threads.

For now, we've moved these threads to a new forum called Archived Topics to isolate them from the most heavily-trafficked forums -- the FFA and Shark Pool -- and preserved them so that they cannot be replied to, edited, or deleted. The original threads remain searchable, and I've added a link below to the original version of this topic. Over the next couple of weeks, these threads will be converted into archived threads by the Invision Board aoftware and moved back to their original forum. After archiving, they will remain searchable and browsable.

If you are the Original Poster of one of these threads, I encourage you to start a new topic to be version 2.0 of your thread and PM me with the link. I will merge this post into your new topic and leave it pinned for a few weeks.

Peace.

Just finished season 1. Where does this stream? I purchased season 1 on demand from Comcast, figured it'd be cheaper to stream the rest now that I have a smart tv. Not on Amazon Prime unfortunately.

Definitely on Netflix.

I watched the show late and never read most of the thread but was planning to read up on some of it. When will the old threads be viewable?

I can't believe Walt just let Jessie's girlfriend choke to death on her own puke. That's cold man.

Hey, remember that episode of Breaking Bad where Walt tried to make a peace offering to Skyler by bringing a pizza over to the house, only to throw it up on the roof in frustration after Skyler turns him away? And then he goes on a bender and ends up calling Skyler and berating her over the answering machine? That was pretty funny, right? And wouldn’t it be even funnier if you, a person who is not the fictional character of Walter White on Breaking Bad, took a pizza over to the house where they shot that particular scene and threw it up on the roof as a symbol of your own anger issues? Well, it’s not.Apparently the referential pizza-throwing has become such an issue that Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan was forced to address it on the Better Call Saul Insider podcast, where he said basically that simply doing something you’ve seen on television is not clever and that all you’re doing is making yourself look like a jackass by harassing the elderly couple who have lived in that house for 41 years. Here’s exactly what he said:

“They’re throwing pizzas on roofs and stuff like that. Let me tell you: There is nothing funny or original or cool about throwing pizzas on this lady’s roof. It is just not funny. It’s been done before. You’re not the first.”

Gilligan went on to ask fans to jot down the license plate numbers of anyone they see lurking around the property with a pizza box, adding that “I don’t even consider [the pizza-throwers] fans, I consider them jagoffs.”

I saw a promotion during football season that they're airing every episode on AMC in the build up to Better Call Saul. I set the DVR and finished up on Monday. Wow. What a show.

Greatest series of all time IMO. Wish I woulda got on board from the beginning, that week long wait in between episodes is more enjoyable than binge watching. Either way, what a roller coaster. Never stopped being awesome.

Weekly viewing and binge-watching each have their merits.

I watched the entire 62-episode run (including many DVD commentaries) of Breaking Bad in 31 days and absolutely loved it.

And I agree with you: it's my favorite show of all time.

My wife and I have been watching one or two every night for a while now. Up to season 3, episode where they hunt a fly the majority of the time. That was the worst episode of the series, right? I keep hearing about a great ending, so it must be uphill from that travesty.

I am in the minority, but I enjoyed that episode - the episode illustrated Walt's extreme OCD tendencies, as well as being very metaphoric (Walt was a fly on the wall when Jane choked to death on her own vomit)

I got that. But it dragged on and on.

Thus far, my favorite thing is Gus Fring setting out vegetable trays for everyone. I cackle like a school girl every time.

I thought it was stellar, especially considering Gilligan & Co. had virtually no money left in the budget and were forced to shoot a bottle episode.

I don't think it is a minority. If it is, just by a little. How good that episode was is a major point of debate among BB fans.

I loved it.

Yeah, that's when they were taking money from BB to give to Mad Men

No. The first time through, it is tough to take, because the storyline, which usually moved pretty fast, came to a screeching halt for just that one episode, but when you go back and watch it on its own, it's pretty great. A lot of humor and Walt's medicated speech about how he had lived too long was freaking terrific.

Interesting. I did not know that.
