TV Sound bar recommendation (1 Viewer)

Random

Footballguy
My parents just got a new Vizio 55" TV they had wall mounted. Absolutely no wires show, and now they want a wireless soundbar. Are there any soundbars that would wirelessly connect to the TV? What about the power chord? Do they all plug in?

They have to plug in for power, so it is impossible to be completely wireless...

Wireless speakers need to be charged and can be moved around which can run for up to 15 hours strictly on a bluetooth connection, but a soundbar is stationary and I don't know of any options that will completely eliminate wires.

Also, I assume they have a cable box, and I don't know of any cable companies that offer a bluetooth box to connect to the soundbar.

I mounted mine just below my tv and all wires (power, audio) are hidden behind the TV and/or through the wall. The sub is Bluetooth, but still needs power. I don't know much about wireless sound bars, but I'm not sure it would be necessary for me.

How are soundbars compared to a full surround system. I got a new plasma a couple months ago and want some good sound. I keep almost buying a soundbar but then I reconsider buying a full surround system which I used to have and loved, it was Onkyo.

Do soundbars really simulate surround well? We have a medium sized living room, certainly not big, but it's connected to other large spaces, an open floor plan.

As others have said, if they are doing a soundbar, they don't need wireless since they will be mounted close enough to the TV to hide wires.

I have a 55" Visio as well, and they have an output from the TV for soundbars (I'll check on the output in a bit.)

ETA: The connection/cable I was thinking of was an Optical Digital Cable.
