Old shoelaces work great on many things.

Empty toilet paper or empty paper towel rolls work great on many things.

Dryer sheets work great as dusters.

Reusing boxes from Amazon or the Post Office are great cause they are good boxes.

I'm going to give this a shot, purely on your trusted FFA recommendation.
+1
Please report back... curious how the CD player handles the weight of a big phone...
:goodposting:
I've had one for about a year. Works fine on my 5s I don't think it would have a problem with a bigger phone.

This is fantastic. Just ordered one for a drive down to NOLA this weekend. Will be awesome for Escort Live monitoring / Waze navigation etc. Price is right as well.

Picture of it from both angles in my car

It's sturdy as hell too. I've got a beefy battery case on my iPhone 6 and it support it no problem at all.

Nice find, thanks for sharing

Don't forget to change www.amazon to smile.amazon. It costs you nothing
It's the same Amazon
Exactly, but if you use Smile, it donates a portion of the sale to your charity of choice (which you set up). Just putting it out there for anyone that didn't already know.
I know I thought you were quoting the tag line I hear on many podcasts. "It costs you nothing" "it's the same Amazon" :)

Can you play cds at the same time? My wife plays a lot of cds but wants something to hold her phone in the car. This could be the ticket...

I just bought this ($5). It comes in today. It uses a magnet that you put in-between the case and phone or inside the phone itself (between battery and cover). I'll let you know if it's a complete failure and get the cd thing instead.

I don't listen to CD's so I haven't tested that, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It certainly doesn't insert into the slot far enough to engage the mechanism.

You'd have to remove the cradle to swap discs obviously, but it's quite easy (twist of thumbscrew and slide out, reverse to re-install.. takes 5 seconds maybe).

That doesn't look like the same gadget that the OP link points to right now. Did it change?ETA: never mind. I see that there are different versions under the same listing.

Nipple clamps are WAYYY overpriced. Just use clothes pins. With the blindfold on she won't notice the difference assuming she's being properly distracted.

I tried this and I think I got a couple of duds. Got one and exchanged it and the exchange didn't work either. The joint where the arm attaches to the base didn't seem to have enough tension (and no way to tighten it on the model I got, although it appears that icon's has a screw to tighten maybe? that's not the model they sent me), so it wouldn't stay in the upright position when the phone (iPhone 6). The exchanged one was just a little better, but still wouldn't do the job. So returned it and awaiting the refund from Amazon. :kicksrock:

Oh yeah - I go back to my original statement that it doesn't look like the same product. The first option pictured is a totally different design. But even the one more like it has different side support things and actually looks pretty different.

Was yours a different model, [icon]?

This isn't exactly cheap, but it's one of the more useful things I think I have ever purchased and well worth the $80

That said...this $9.95 steel Bostitch version IS one of the more useful tools I have. Good for all sorts of detailed prying jobs.

I did the exact same thing. Fixed it with a tiny drill bit and a tiny wood screw which holds it right in place where I want it. I don't like supporting products that don't work out of the box, but, for $7 the 2 minute fix was more cost effective for me than returning it.

Those velcro ones are fantastic. I have a few packs in my tool box. The thing I really like about them is you can link a few together to hold thicker things together too. I actually loop them around the handle of all my corded tools (recip saw, circ saw, compressor, etc.) so I can just loop the cord and fasten it to the tool. No more mess.

I thought about just gluing it, but it didn't cost anything to return it via Amazon, other than some tape to tape the boxes back up.
