FantasyScore Staff Sunday Cash Plays Week 2 (1 Viewer)

With Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season in the books, we hope you were able to turn our advice into a nice bankroll and are playing with house money. If you had a rough Week 1, remember that there are 16 more weeks to go.

As always, we’re looking at the staff picks leading up to Week 2, which you can check out in full here.

Staff Trends

Spread them out

Five out of eight staff members went with four wide receivers, meaning they chose to go with a receiver not a running back in the flex spot. There doesn’t seem to be any one player they are targeting—Donte Moncrief, Cole Beasley and Jordan Matthews all appear—though some staff seem to be aiming for a Sam Bradford/Jordan Matthews stack.

What’s your Forte

Again, five of the staff dipped into the same pool, this time with a specific player—Matt Forte. Coming off a 166-yard, one score performance, he is definitely the key cog in the Chicago Bears offense. Even if he has a regression – and against a seemingly tough Cardinals defense this week, he might—he should be a well above average start.

Low Cost Quarterbacks

With the exception of Jason Wood, who trotted out Drew Brees, nobody started a quarterback more expensive than $7,500 Sam Bradford.

Glaring Omissions

Fading Peterson

After last week, it’s no shock that the gang faded Adrian Peterson, especially for $7800. He should get back on track but that price and that offensive line gets a firm ‘no thanks.’

No Brady, Rodgers, Luck

As I pointed out above, the staff ignored the higher priced quarterbacks and invested the money in a better brace of running backs and receivers.

Diamonds in the Rough

At just $3600 Kendall Wright seems like a nice play against Cleveland, even if the Browns are better defensively than Tampa Bay was.

Heath Miller represents some nice value at $4200 this week against San Francisco. One of the more overlooked folks in fantasy, Miller got a lot of targets last week and could again this weekend.
