D-Backs hire Mike Hazen away from Boston to be EVP/GM. Way more spreadsheets and :nerd: stuff, way less...whatever the hell Stewart did.

Hazen seemed like kind of a yin to Dombrowski's yang, it'll be interesting to see who Boston taps as their new #2.

D-Backs hired Red Sox front office :nerd: Amiel Sawdaye to work as GM under Hazen. That's a pretty significant :nerd: transfer, to where you can classify AZ as being at least halfway a :nerd: team, and Boston not a :nerd: team at all anymore.

Sawdaye has his work cut out for him.  The team has Goldschmidt and Pollack signed to below-market deals but has 1/3 of its payroll committed to Greinke.  The farm system has been productive in the past but seems a bit barren right now because many of their top prospects have already appeared in the majors with mixed results.  The Dodgers and Giants are always going to outspend them in the division.

And those uniforms.

I think they have to at least consider moving Goldschmidt. They could get an absolute ####-ton for him given his contract, and as it stands now, they're not going to compete in the next few seasons.

Shields could be good value if the cost per WAR drops to -9.2M

So...when do we fire up the stove?

Eta never mind, I see the old timer who runs this place started it a couple hours ago. Great work, Eephus.

Dumb question, but my buddies and I are spending some time in LA in late June and we want to hit Dodger Stadium.

Can you access the Pavilion (bleachers?) from the rest of the stadium, or are they cut off? Are we risking death (from sunstroke, shanking, whatever) if we sit out there, or are we better off trekking to the upper deck? Cheap seats are all we need.

Any thoughts on the new BP Trainer the players are wearing...3/4 with number on sleeve?

Pretty bad. Numbers look awful on sleeves imo

Players love it...and it's started off hot at retail.  It's 1 of 2 new Authentic styles this spring...which helps...you'll see the heathered tech fleece soon.
