Curtis Lofton got the hook last week, opening the door for new blood at ILB for Oakland. The depth chart has Heeney behind him but the in-game nod went to Neiron Ball. Both are rookie 5th round picks, though Ball was listed as OLB and notes have him as a rush backer project. Heeney was out in week 4 but was active this past week and wasn't the player inserted when Lofton was benched.

Was Heeney still banged up? Will this be a timeshare or audition going forward? Who is the better waiver wire choice?

Looks like Heeney is listed as (inj) of this site's depth chart with no notes. Ball is Ray Ray Armstrong's backup according to the chart at SLB so I would suspect injury had a factor in why he moved over. There will be notoriously little information made available during Oakland's bye so we're going to have to wait at least a week to get any information.

Judging from the box score, its looking like Lofton is safe to drop in dynasty?

It appears that way. He has only had a couple games of significant output but mostly relegated to the bench. I would say droppable at this point.
