how bad is he hurt? The interwebs arent really saying much just that he was sore after the game
Nice analysis. Hopefully, we'll see a meaningful update on his condition soon.Believe in the mighty Darkwa and your faith will be rewarded.
Jennings and Williams both got work before Darkwa seen the field. He had two nice runs, got stuffed on the goal line twice and was out of the game. Was Darkwa the clear lead back before he got injured? Didn't have a chance to see the job.

I put a lot of the blame on the o-line too. It wasn't good blocking for Williams either, which is why he gets a little too much blame IMO, although IMO Williams is the 4th best RB on the team (behind Jennings, Vereen and Darkwa).Well, his o-line got stuffed on the goal line twice.Jennings and Williams both got work before Darkwa seen the field. I'm not sure how much blame he deserves for that.
...but I may be biased.
I thought that it was pretty encouraging to see him be the main back on that entire drive, though. Jennings and Williams had not looked that good and that looked like it was Darkwa's chance to take over.Jennings and Williams both got work before Darkwa seen the field. I did the same thing! And then CJ finally has a good game. I think the lesson I learned is don't drop a good player who has been in a slump during their bye week...many times they can get healthy and turn it around. I think the time off helped CJ.....But Orleans started strong, just got dinged early. I'm holding on him too. I think he'll have a nice roll here as the season starts to move on. Let's hope!Well I dropped CJ Anderson for this guy right before the game last Sunday so sitting on him until he proves I'm not an idiot... which will probably never happen but here's hoping.
It's a bit more quiet in here, but I think the production will be only slightly better from this thread's namesake than the other thread.permanently leaving the c-mike thread and parking in here for a while
Unless he hurts his bottom again.I am holding on Orleans. He is going to have a big game and then everyone is going to try and pick him up.
Giants need to establish the run. Obviously the other running backs have had over half the season to show something and haven't.
This guy is young, hungry, and has the ability. Go back and watch his run against Dallas.....and then the one he broke against the Saints before he got injured.
He's not going away. He's going to be given every chance and I believe he will capitalize. I am desperate at running back like a lot of others....I don't think I'll be starting him against the Bucs....but if he has a big game it will great to know he's on my bench for future use.
Apparently this doesn't apply to Eddie Lacy.I did the same thing! And then CJ finally has a good game. Orleans Darkwa has won the Giants' No. 2 running back job as Rashad Jennings' primary backup.
Andre Williams got the boot on Saturday as the Giants trimmed the roster to 53, and Darkwa survived as the favorite for carries behind Jennings. Darkwa had a big preseason finale and showed some juice last season in limited action, posting a 35-153-1 rushing line and averaging 4.3 YPC. Unlike last year, the Giants are expected to lean on Jennings instead of using a committee.

20 team leagues? This feels like it's going completely overlooked for rookie buzz. Paul Perkins hasn't proven anything. Jennings is what? 31? Idk how well he'll hold up as an every down guy.
Darkwa feels like a pretty good dart throw right now.
He's second on the depth chart in a good offense. Last year he went from fourth on the depth chart to getting touches because the coaches (including his OC McAdoo -- now HC McAdoo) wanted to see what he'd do in a game. He's produced when given chances, just like in the fourth preseason game.20 team leagues?
Three posts above your post is a report that Darkwa is the number 2 and Jennings direct backup.Liked Darkwa's running from the moment i saw him. Even though his fundamentals are 1st-day quality, he knows holes like Hefner. But he's Giant RB4, so like only if you gotta drop Gaffney.
That only moves him up if you stipulate that the Jints will be in early-down formation the majority of the time, which i dont see and, then, only to RB3Three posts above your post is a report that Darkwa is the number 2 and Jennings direct backup.
I guess I'm not following your logic...That only moves him up if you stipulate that the Jints will be in early-down formation the majority of the time, which i dont see and, then, only to RB3
I think "they" are saying RB4 in a FF context, while you are talking RB2 on a Giants context.I guess I'm not following your logic...
lol or not.NYG line for RB touches: 1. RJ 2. Vereen 3. Perkins/Darkwa
That's the way I viewed it going into the year. But Vereen had 17 touches last week, and I think he's the play this week.i see Vereen as obvious 3rd down back. Darkwa is the backup behind Jennings. Perkins is bottom of the pecking order.
