Bonus - Maestro will also be there, and I will be able to let my Backbone Slide

Damn Shovels & Rope are dope!! If you can stomach folk music (although I'm not sure that is an accurate description of the genre this band plays) you must check this duo out.

Anyone doing Bonnaroo this year?  Contemplating this decision right now.  The lineup just isn't pulling me in like last year but its still Bonnaroo.

Probably seeing MMJ at Red Rocks over Memorial Weekend. :headbang:

Sting and Peter Gabriel at Summerfest (Milwaukee) July 10.  Been a long time since I've seen any concert let alone one at Marcus Amphitheater during Summerfest.

Guns 'N' Roses in Vegas on April 8

The ticket prices I saw for this were the most expensive I'd ever seen for an arena venue.  I'll probably drop the 200 for the SF show but it seems a bit ridiculous...this is definitely a money grab.  Kind of sours the experience for me.

Totally agree. We paid $284/each. My SIL was going to come but bailed so we sold the extra on Stubhub for $400 ($360 net after fees). I think Stubhub bought it.

It's Vegas, so $284 is just another thing to blow money on.

I saw the Gregg Allman Band last night, and it was a fantastic show. Gregg's voice sounded really good, and I love the addition of horns in his band. His horn players used to be in Bobby Blue Bland's band. I read in an interview with him that he always wanted horns in the ABB, but the others didn't, so now he gets to have them on his own.

I was happy with the songs they chose to play last night. I know he changes his setlist up, but last night he and his band did: Don't Keep Me Wonderin', Come and Go Blues, Queen of Hearts, Sweet Feelin', Trouble No More (Muddy Waters cover), Ain't Wastin' Time No More, These Days (Jackson Browne cover), You Don't Love Me (Willie Cobbs cover), I'm No Angel - He took a 10 minute break while band jammed - Midnight Rider, Melissa, Whipping Post, One Way Out, and Southbound. It was fun, and I recommend seeing him if you like his music. He is getting up there in age (68), so catch him while he is still delivering a great show and in fine voice...and still alive.

Here is kinda blurry pic of him behind his piano. He had this NO Saints shirt on first. :X :P Changed to this shirt during break.

Nice.  Saw him several months ago at the Canyon Club.  Can still bring it.  He's opening for ZZTop at the Greek Theater, tickets onsale tomorrow at 10am.  Also Rob Thomas/Counting Crows.  Love the venue.  Seeing Joe Bonamassa in 2 weeks for the first time.  Look forward to it.  Just wish Beth Hart was with him like I've seen on TV - think that was at Red Rocks.

Sir Paul has expanded his tour this year to a good variety of cities.

I posted this last year, but this is the must see concert before it's too late. One of the best experiences of my life when I saw him last year in Philly. Don't even hesitate getting tickets if he's coming near you. Don't hesitate getting tickets if he's going somewhere you have to fly to.  It's worth every penny.  I'm not even a huge Beatles fan (admittedly, I'm a big Wings fan though) but this is the concert to see before it's too late.  Not just because it might be too late, but because it's just plain awesome start-to-finish.

If any FBG buds do want to go to one, I'm happy to cornhole and meet you there.

Took in The Fab Faux last night at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor.  And, as always, was absolutely blown away.  It was like sitting for 3 hours in Abbey Road Studios and watching the Beatles work. These guys are as close to the real thing as you're ever going to see.  Ive seen most all the Beatles tribute and cover bands and no one compares to these guys.  There are more.  Will Lee, bassist from Dave Letterman's band leads the group. They just celebrated their 18th year of doing this.

they do not get caught up in costumes and such, they focus on the music, period.  They actually have studied each song meticulously and attempt to recreate as accurately as possible.  Each song requires a complete rearrangement of backup musicians and instruments, those that were actually used in each song.  I've seen them play most every album in their entirety (yep including Revolution 9 off the WA) and they never cease to amaze and deliver.  Last night was "The Songs of the Beatles Movies" and a mix of other hits and it was Fab.

I've seen him twice in the past 4 years and while they were pretty much identical sets (even down to the banter with the crowd), he still puts on a hell of a show.  Definitely worth it.

My upcoming schedule is a bit light right now:

  • May 28 - CBC Music Fest (Hey Rosetta, New Pornographers, Tokyo Police Club, Alvvays)
  • Jul 22-4 - Wayhome Festival
  • Nov 6 - Pet Shop Boys

I'll definitely be getting tickets for The Hold Steady if they have a Toronto date for the BAGIA tour and for Hot Hot Heat on their "final" tour as well but neither is announced.

Saw Def Leppard last night in Orlando, very good show. Had a few off the newest album (including "Let's Go", which is a great opener), Rest was a good mix of classics, as expected. Elliot's voice waivered a bit on some songs, but musically was really tight. Good to see Vivian Campbell out there playing after the cancer battle.

Reo Speedwagon was very solid, Tesla still rockin it as well.

Yep. It was FANTASTIC. Night 1 might be in the all time top 3 shows (according to some - its def in my top 2).

We had GA both nights. We tailgated the entirety of Saturday and ended up with second row center. We got there later on Sunday and ended up with 5 - 6 off to the right a bit.

Such a special place to see a show. Well worth the trip.
