If you haven't logged into MFL this year you will have to set up a new account and password that will log you into all your leagues.  Password for this league is fbgssl1.  You likely will have to log in as the commish to setup you franchise and add you e-mail address.

Draft has started.  We'll go on a 8 hour clock for the first round before moving to a 4 hour clock.

I had the same problem.  Log in as commissioner using the league password, change the password of your team to whatever you want, then link the franchise to your username using the password you just created for your franchise.

we have a problem......the draft board doesn't have the turn guy....norseman doubling up picks and it still has him in his original spot in other rounds

This may be THE solution. We have always allowed the drafter that misses his first pick to slide down and in some cases get a more favorable spot. Now they dip down and yet get punished some for slacking.

Thoughts?

Excellent idea.  This is what we'll do going forward

Funny how things work out...never thought I'd own 2 AR-15's...

"This is my WR, this is my gun!"

"This is for FF, this is for fun!"

...and he's a Penn Stater, to boot...think I'm gonna buy some megamillions tix today...on my way to the range, naturally...

Not that any of us would do this..... ....but if we are logged in as commish....are we able to see other owners "pre draft" lists if we felt a desire to make such a d-bag move....

Got snipped three times.  Really wanted Lacy, very under rated.  Ingram was a significant drop off, but one of the safest picks remaining.  Probably would have doubled up at RB.  Not hugely excited about my Eifert pick but didn't like the prospects of waiting 30 picks to see what was left in a 2 pt / rec league.  Brown's week 8 bye pushed me off another obvious pick.  Usually try not to double up on the byes in the first three picks.

Sorry about the time out in the first. I thought it was starting on Monday. Plus I was swamped at work on Monday and forgot to check when I got home. I hadn't ever timed out before and now I have done it in two drafts in a row

Just so everyone's aware. I worked overnight. My 5.07 is pre-drafted, but it's too far out to pre-draft my 6th, plus I might lean different directions depending on who I get in the fifth.

I'll go to sleep around 9 AM EST...so unless it goes well past my 5.07 pick, I won't pre-draft. I also won't be awake until around 4 PM EST. The way this draft is flying, that means I might very well time-out.

This is why I asked about a four hour clock...is it really necessary in early MAY? To be skipped or punished for timing out by an hour or two on a four hour May clock doesn't seem in the spirit to me.

If I will time out before 5 PM, and assuming we stay on this short clock, feel free to pick for me Bass.

funny marvin jones went the pick after i took hurns. had a hard time deciding between the two. hurns has a better bye for me.

seems like week 9 is brutal this year for byes

Uh why do we have a 4 hour clock in May? Can I change my josh Gordon pick? We never had 4 hour clocks before.

I've asked this a couple of times now. We just did an entire round in 7 hours...with a "timeout" included. There's about a 2% chance I make it through this from the middle without a timeout.

We have a 4 hour clock because that seems to work the best for the majority.  One of the WSLs last about 6 weeks.  The more people timeout and the longer they take to draft, the less the other owners will care.  The reason we do a round in 7 hours is because everyone knows that they will be up daily.  Ever since the NFL draft got moved back, we've tried to get these done in 2-3 weeks to finish them before Memorial Cay and the summer vacations kick in.

eta - Nothing sucks worse than to wait 8 hours for a time out in round 15 only to have the owner show up 5 hours later while we're waiting for the next pick and select the Detroit Lions defense or Nick Folk.

I don't have an issue because I didn't want Gordon.

Curious how you got him in the first place?  I must have a setting wrong as it should skip.

eta - It was a setting in the system.  Strange that it's different form the other leagues.

Going forward it will pull for you draft list and then skip you.  You can change the skip pick using the commissioner login.

with an 8 hour clock and the clock being off for 8 hours you could really be looking at 2 picks a day...that sucks donkey balls....huge donkey balls....

I think going into these with the mindset that you might need to check in every four hours at the MAX.....is not an unrealistic expectation.....usually you don't even have to do it that much.....if close to a turn, you know the drill....it could be fast

Being able to get notifications is gravy to all of this....and being able to see how many predrafts are lined up before your picks should give you a pretty good idea of how long it will be and if you can roll the dice on not predrafting.....

If you are going to work....check before you go....if your going to bed....check before you go to sleep....predraft or not predraft accordingly....we enter these with kind of an unwritten agreement that we actively participate and plan accordingly so as not to slow things down....

we all like to do these and I don't think there has ever been a complaint about a draft finishing too fast....most of the complaints/problems have been a result of the 8 hour clock and people becoming disinterested....I like the fast clock because it keeps people engaged  and makes for a better experience....we aren't playing for money....

sensitive to abnormal work schedules, time zones, etc.....but with all the options available to kind of navigate that we should be able to do a 4 hour clock.....don't want to say "or else don't sign up" but actually for many people, having an 8 hour clock makes it MORE difficult to "actively" participate and it snowballs.....

Just my two cents.....let's have fun...in a timely manner...lol

eta...this is from someone who hates predrafting

Having to check in every four hours absolutely IS an unrealistic expectation. Quite frankly, some people can't check in that often. I know I certainly can't many days, because I work 7P to 7A.

I can pre-draft, and certainly don't mind doing so, but between a four hour clock and many of us pre-drafting, we've gone from too slow to a break-neck pace that begins to become ridiculous. How far out should someone have to predraft? 6 picks is certainly reasonable. 8 or 9 is pushing it, but for someone like me on an opposite schedule, it's something I'm prepared to deal with and accept. But the pace we're on demands being able to do so a full round out...and that is far from reasonable. And completely un-necessary.

You guys are right about that fact that guys taking too long makes others check less often and slows the draft even further, but the opposite is true about a clock so short that EVERYONE is predrafting from 4 or 5 out. That's one thing in late August, but quite another in May because there's no need for it.

We sign on to these with an expectation of a round a day. Yesterday we did two full rounds plus a few. The ability to pre-pick more easily on MFL is just as effective at speeding things up as the short clock is. We would maintain a round and a half or more a day easily with a 6 hour clock.

FYI - I just realized when I was setting up league 3 that I didn't randomize the draft order for this league.  What happened was the I left the remaining SSL1 league members from last year in the same franchise slots and seeded in the rest into the slots of abandoned or demoted owners.  When I looked at the draft order is was random from the franchise order so I assumed MFL randomly selected the draft order.  What it actually did was to revert to last year's randomly selected draft order.  I really didn't want the one slot but didn't think any more about it.  When I just went to setup league three, I found it interesting that the the returning owners from last year were slotted in the same draft positions as last year.  Reason I probably noticed this time was that I was having an issue expanding that league from 16 to 18 teams and spent a good bit of time toggling between the 15 and 16 draft order to figure out why two owners were missing.  That prompted me to check this league and lo and behold, me, Rene, Arron, Ducky, and Ref all had the same draft slots as last year.  I'm sure it's that way in league 2 too.  Sorry that I didn't catch this before, just wanted to be above board about it once I discovered it.

is anyone else dealing with delayed notifications or just lack of notifications from MFL.....like before my picks at the 7-8 turn the last notification I received was for Fiddles pick at 7.04 of Willie Snead.....nothing after that....

and I have it set up to tell me when I am on the clock and the general draft update where I get notified of every pick....kinda weird, this has never been an issue for me before

:kicksrock: Don't you love having your sleeper pick taken one lousy pick before you're on the clock?

Was totally going with Agohlar in the 8th.

Also...is it just me, or are the 8, 9, and 10th weeks just ridiculous for byes?

I only play in dynasty leagues, but oddly I have never owned Gronk in any league before.

Witten/Austin at the 8/9 turn feel like excellent value.  Witten had 77 receipts with crap at QB.  He's falling because of the 3 TDs last year.  Those should come back with Romo.  Austin was WR28 last year, so acquiring him at WR49 offers decent value.  With the Rams exercising the 5th year option, he should be in the plans this year.

Obviously I'm going to get punished at QB, but should be strong everywhere else.

Sorry for the time out in the 9th.  I tried to predraft but MFL was down at the time.  should be good to go from here if the system stays up.

4.01    Aaron Rodgers GBP QB2 (4)

May go solo with only 18 roster spots.  All his weapons should be back and Cook should be a nice addition. Could have monster year.

1.15    Lamar Miller HOU RB7 (9)
3.16    C.J. Anderson DEN RB15 (11)
9.16    Rashad Jennings NYG RB43 (8)

Miller could be RB1 this year, Anderson continues to get no love, and I’m not sure what I am missing on Jennings.  He finished strong last year and proved to be the best RB on the team.  I consider FA and the Draft as victories for him as NYG didn’t do anything at this position until the 5th round.  And while many may think the new toy takes over, I just don’t see that happening.  Jennings at a great price in these as an RB3 IMO.

2.02    Demaryius Thomas DEN WR9 (11)
5.16    Corey Coleman CLE WR40 (13)
7.16    Markus Wheaton PIT WR46 (8)
10.01    Josh Doctson WAS WR54 (9)
11.16    Terrance Williams DAL WR65 (7)
12.01    Devin Funchess CAR WR66 (7)

Even a bad year for DT still means top 10.  QB play and his play can’t be much worse than it was last year.  Coleman should have an impact immediately and outplay WR40 even on a bad team.  I’m not sold on Wheaton but I am sold on the opportunity/situation. So with Doctson I own 2 of the first 3 WR’s off the board in the draft.  Hoping one of them has the rookie breakout to make it worth it.  I don’t normally draft rookies, but decided gamble on upside in this particular draft. At the 9-10 turn I almost said screw it and made the exact picks Bass did at the 10-11 turn and locked down top PK/DST but backed off with Jennings still on the board and Doctson’s ability.  Garcon may get released now. Feeling pretty good about all other positions at the 11-12 turn I decided to go ahead and add some depth at this position. Williams still #2 in DAL and has big games, numbers were decent last year but should be better with healthy Romo.  Hopefully Funchess assumes #2 in CAR.

6.01    Dwayne Allen IND TE12 (10)
8.01    Jared Cook GBP TE17 (4)

I probably like Allen’s situation more than most and I think the fantasy world is still a little gun shy about Cook.  While understandable, IMO probably a good time to take advantage of that this year before his stock increases, so he is a guy I will be eye balling/targeting at this price in many drafts moving forward. I think Rodgers is going to like this guy a lot.

I’ve basically committed to punting PK and DST at this point so I’ll just dig through the scraps when the time comes.  I’m not a huge fan of 18 rounds, I prefer 20, but it adds some strategy to the mix.  I pay a little more attention to bye weeks in 18 rounders and so far I’ve put myself in pretty good shape there.  They haven’t affected my picks a ton, but some. I feel I have a chance to be above average at QB/RB/TE, decision now will be about riding solo possibly at QB/PK/or DST to add some more depth at WR since I am a little unsure about what I will get there. I don’t expect much to be left at PK/DST with the runs coming and having made the decision not to jump in. Might dance my way through the trash while mixing in some RB/WR additions.

Feel like I got a little lucky waiting on my second QB.  I think RG3 gets plenty of opportunity to prove he can be the Browns franchise QB.  Feeling real good about this team.  Should be serviceable at QB.  Murray and Ingram make a nice one/two punch and Woodhead is an outstanding RB3.  Rolled the dice with Gordon.  Hoping to get a few games later in the year.  With Brown on board at WR felt like I could go boom/bust at WR.  gin is being under drafted this year.  Yeah he drops a lot of balls, but he can get open and Cam has the arm to hit him deep.  Crabtree slid a bit.  Effect/Witten is a perfect dup for this format.  Witten fell too far, not sure why.  Pulled the trigger on D/K early because the byes were a perfect fit for me and it gives me the option of going solo.
