Rutgers prediction: Week 1 will be brutal but hopefully better from there. I'll go with 5-7 and significant progress from a fundamental standpoint under year 1 of Ash. Victories over Howard, New Mexico, Illinois, Indiana, and Maryland on the road. Wild card would be PSU at home.

Five straight nights of college football (not to mention all day Saturday) from Thurs-Mon of Labor Day Weekend.  I can already feel my wife seething.

Is it just me or are the same teams playing on Thursday opening night as last year?

Big pluses and minuses for the Defending Champs:

Minus:  Yet another new starting QB, who may even be a true freshman....or a Soph or JR.

Plus:  None of them are Brandon Harris.

I think my alma mater just started practice last week. It's no wonder that the alma mater of @GroveDiesel @Hoh @Black Box and myself is 0-20 the last 2 seasons. :bag:
Well, they just put in a new field, so maybe that will help...

It's not like anyone cares anyway. I mean, we had college football's all time leading rusher, and almost all time total yards leader, when I went there and the stands were never very full.

:blackdot:  for future computer ratings, other nerdy analysis, and updates on my alma mater when no one else cares (but they do play three SEC teams this season).

Wow, I just noticed this crap

Expect an ugly game anyway - you won't miss much if you sleep in.  I know a few people heading over there - would be a really cool trip to go on.

Hey @Abraham, are the kids that have never seen a Vols win over Florida in middle school or junior high where you live?
Pretty sure that is a trick question.  Kids where he lives don't make it past elementary school for their book learning.

You have to admire how Hawaii is willing to fly literally anywhere just to get its teeth kicked in.

And I was living in WV at the time. :kicksrock:

ETA: That'll probably be the end of Grove City College talk until unless they win a game.

I was reading a B1G West preview, man that is a crappy division.

Looking forward to the Ole Miss/FSU game on Monday. Not a huge fan of the Sooners opening with the #15 team, but that should be a pretty good game also.

Huskies are 26 pt favorites over Rutgers in the opener. I am optimistic about the UW this season, and I know Rutgers blows, but that is a wide spread.

Mandel picked them to go 15-0
Well, I think it's pretty likely the winner of our game goes to the ACC title game and into the playoff. From there, who knows. Even if one of us lost this weekend, running the table forward gets them into the playoff.

Louisville is a stumbling block but they're at home for Clemson. GT on the road sucks, but everything else on paper looks good.
