I guess the time to sell was two weeks ago. Not sure what I can get for him now.

You definitely want to unload this guy before Belicheck has his way with him.

After watching him play the last few weeks, it's clear that he still has a long way to go as far as becoming a good, consistent NFL passer.  Sure, he looked great in Week 1 when guys were running wide open all day against a team that is trying to go 0-16, but against real NFL defenses, his flaws are still glaring.  Time will tell if he can get to the next few levels.

Yes, but to be fair, he didn't get to play the entire game. :P

Sitting on 34 points in my scoring system, might be the all time record for a QB with no touchdown passes in a game.

Yet, in this twisted world... QB for the 2-4 browns has about a dozen commercials out there. His commercials aren't bad by the way... kind of likeable when he's reading from a script.

And the QB, dare I say dynamic QB, of the first place Ravens... 0.

baker was the number 1 pick.  little different.  i'm sure lamar will get there if he keeps it up.

That's part of it. The larger driver here (IMO) was the all of the off-season crap surrounding the Browns being a lead-pipe lock to contend for a Lombardi.

Each week I like to see who Lamar passed on the career rushing yardage list among QBs. This week, in his 22nd game (and 13th career start) he reached 1155 career yards to move into 63rd place all time, passing:

Rodney Peete (104 games)
Rick Mirer (80 games)
Vince Evans (100 games, only 39 starts)
Don Majkowski (90 games, 57 starts)
Josh McCown (102 games, 76 starts)
BTW, how in the world has Josh McCown played 102 career games?

With his next 100 yards rushing, Lamar will pass:
Andy Dalton (11 yards ahead, 126 career games)
Jason Campbell (39 yards ahead)
Matt Ryan (55 yards ahead)
Ryan Tannehill (59 yards ahead)
Joe Ferguson (62 yards)
Matt Hasselbeck (76 yards)
Phil Simms (97 yards)

At 52.5 ypg, he’s #1 all-time, 10 ypg ahead of Vick at #2.

SI's Pete Thamel spoke with one ACC coach who believes Louisville sophomore Lamar Jackson "has no shot at playing quarterback in the NFL. None."

It is worth noting that this coach faced Jackson this season (which almost certainly means Jackson torched the team's defense). "He can’t make the throws and can’t read coverages. He’s not going to have a chance," he concluded. These comments were made when the coach was asked about Deshaun Watson's ability, but it seems Jackson was the preferred topic. Jackson just turned 20 years old.

Are we concerned about the remaining schedule? Not sure if I should look into a blockbuster trade about now and see if I can swing some kind of "upgrade" for the remaining season vs. having him as a keeper in the future. But his rushing might make up for the harder defenses coming up. Then again, it also exposes him to more injury. Debating what it would mean to get Matt Ryan in exchange, or other deals that trade away Lamar's upcoming games for some easier ones.

Or chicken out and ride him forever forward.

Is anyone offering blockbuster value for Jackson? I've got him sitting behind Mahomes and have put him out there as trade bait, but no one is offering anything of value. There are 2-3 teams that he would increase their weekly scores by 10-15 points but they still value QBs very lowly. At this point he's going to be an insurance policy in case Mahomes misses any time with his ankle issues.

I'm in a keeper league where the other owners insanely overvalue QBs, so that part might just be relative to my situation. But overall, is there concern about LJ's upcoming opponents?

Not sure about blockbuster, but I traded him away last week for Hill in a two-for-two that also included Boyd and Stafford. Seemed like an even deal. Of course, you need to find a team that needs a QB upgrade (and presumably have a better option of your own already).

Lamar Jackson completed just 9-of-20 passes for 143 scoreless yards in the Ravens' 30-16, Week 7 win over the Seahawks, adding 116 yards and one touchdown on 14 rushing attempts.

The easy star of this one, Jackson again channeled his inner Michael Vick and proved slippery in the wet, rain-soaked conditions in Seattle. Jackson again played without top downfield option Marquise Brown (ankle) and used his legs to create the big plays on offense with multiple runs of 20-plus yards. His day would have been bigger if Mark Andrews didn't drop several wide-open passes that hit him in the hands and if Jackson didn't lose his footing on several occasions. He switched out his cleats multiple times. Even with all that, the Seahawks still couldn't contain him. Jackson has gone over 100 rushing yards with a score in back-to-back weeks and is making a case for MVP. A day filled with highlights, Jackson's best play was an eight-yard power touchdown run on 4th-and-2 with the game tied 13-13 late in the third quarter. The 5-2 Ravens host the Patriots in Week 9 following next week's bye.

Lamar said he had to change his cleats twice. Knew he had to go back to his original cleats when he got caught by a linebacker.

This guy is just amazing....

He is not bad as a passer as the numbers suggest either....after the patriots schedule....I can see him doing even better with Hollywood Brown coming back in the picture.

I am so impressed by this guy. In every way. After seeing QBs go through the motion and seemingly not care (Flacco) this guy was fired up. Pissed that his center didn’t get a snap off when he asked for it. Very animated. Team got on his back and responded. Think he’s a big time leader

My personal feeling at the moment is that the floor is too high to give up on him, when the ceiling is that good.  I think that there will always be garbage time there, fantasy wise

He delivers fantasy points... whatever it takes.

If you're staring at a crapper day from say a Matt Ryan, you know it's staying that way. Jackson though... tough day through the air,  but might run for 100 + TD.

Just to be the Devil's Advocate, just three weeks ago against Pittsburgh, 161 passing yards, 70 rushing yards, 1 passing TD, 0 rushing TD, 3 INTs.

That was the last time he threw a TD pass. Got me 10 points. That's his real floor, not 20.

In a 1qb dynasty league with 4pt passing tds is he worth a mid-late 2020 1st AND 2nd round pick?

I originally offered a 1st.  He came back asking for 2 1st rd picks.  Now he’s asking for my 1st and 2nd.

I think I tend to throw out Pittsburgh-Baltimore games for some reason because they are always weird slugfests.  But you are right, there is a real floor there and I do worry against NE.

And the Ravens went for it on 4th vs the Seahawks which got 1 TD, from the 8. Chancy stuff there.

Depends on QB availability, what your current QB situation is like, and if you are competing or rebuilding.

This is kind of becoming part of the equation with Lamar and his value.  Harbaugh goes for it on 4th down a lot - creates more opportunity for Lamar to put up points.  I dont think this should be counted against him - it should be an x-factor that actually elevates his value.

What do we think about starting him this week vs. New England?  Especially if you have the New England defense as well...

I could definitely see some turnovers and even TDs by NE, but Lamar could still get his in garbage time.  Though NE tends to play all 60 minutes, so maybe not.  Or maybe Roman just tries to run, run, run and mitigate mistakes (which has worked sometimes for them).  Not that that would necessarily be bad for Lamar owners here.

Right now benching for Stafford.

In the end, I wouldn't be surprised if both Jackson and Stafford end up at the same number, but I think Stafford can do so with less risk/higher floor/higher ceiling.

Bill B. usually doesn't get fooled by young QBs. He's going to take away something, make him uncomfortable, force some mistakes.

If Harbaugh took notes during the bye week, he would a) Stress don't make any damn mistakes, and b) Not throw the ball one single time.
