Hoopsguys - FBG ventures into NBA DFS (2 Viewers)

Nice job BnB.  What score did you need to cash first?-scores seemed higher than usual last night.

I played 2 $50/50   1cashed at 364.2  and 1 finished 70th with 312.8. Pretty sure these are my highest scoring lineups ever. Thought the 2nd one would cash as I had 283ish with Cousins left but he tanked.

335 took two firsts in the 7:30 slates.  377 won the single entry $1 dribbler, 387 won the $1 entry swat.

Well I have a $150 Jumbo Slam ticket for tonight.  I want to play it a little more like cash than a gpp flyer (targeting finishing in 10%-20% double up range).  Here is my first swing at it.  Would appreciate any opinions.

Nice!.  I thought I had a shot last night, as I was 3xing in my $1gpp for most of the night.  Then I just see everybody screaming up the scoreboards during the last set of games and catch me.  I had 317 and looked like the cash line was 321 for that one.  Did end up cashing both on DK, so I have 2 positive nights in a row!.

Pretty sure Lilliard is out

SGs- There are much better options IMHO

I would avoid TJW a all costs, he has simply been way to inconsistent, 30+ one game and them under 10 next, he could sink your entire LU.

Like the base of RJack/George/AD/MHarr but I would look at other options for the remaining slots.  Have to head out to a meeting but will post some opinions when I return

Thanks for the great insight.

Last night on the broadcast they said Lillard wanted to play last night but the team held him out.  Mentioned something about him coming back agains the lakers.  I guess McCollum would be the smart play.

If I go Jackson/McCollum/Kilpatrick/George/AD/Randle/Harrell that leaves a choice of Mack/Gallinari or Mudliay/Chandler.

eta - Mack has F'ed me at least 8 times this year.

Don't like Dillard even if he plays, at PG I like

RJack, Schreoder/Holdiay

At SG I don't thing I would pay up for any of the top tier,  I like

Kilpatrick/ Cald-Pope/NYoung/Hood/Oladipo

At SF I like

George/Kawi/HBarns/MKD/MMorris/Harkless(if no Dilliard)

At PF I like

AD/Thad/Favors/Millsap/Kanter/Jokic

and at C I like

MTurner/SAdams/MHarr/PGasol

First look based on your original LU I'd go

RJack/Holiday/KC Pope/Kilpat (or Oladipo)/George/HBarns/AD/Kanter/MHarr

or

RJack/Schreoder/KC Pope/Kilpat/George/Hayward/AD/Kanter/MHarr

Why are you off harden tonight? Ive been building lineups with Teague/Harden/George/Turner as a base. If I use Crabbe can add Westy to that mix.

If you are asking me I'm not off Harden, I was just trying to get BnB the best LU I could come up with using a core of players from his original post.

I have several GPP LUs with Harden

Holid/Teagu/Hard/Olap/George/TJW (Harkl if no Dillard)/Favors/Kanter/MHarr

Holid/RJack/Hard/KCP/HBarns/Kawi/Favors/Aminu/MHarr

Holdi/DAng/Hard/Hood/PJ Tuck/Bazemr/AD/Favor/MTurn

Don't see how you can get Westy/Teague/Harden/Crabb/George/Turner in the same LU
You're right I had to take George out of that lineup which I'm not sure I want to do but IVC like it better by 4+ points. Which do you like better?

westy holiday harden crabbe bazemore tucker favors kanter turner

Jackson Teague crabbe harden George chandler favors kanter turner

I'm fading westy tonight, salary is just too high and the matchup is not great, GPP wise

Do Crabbe and Bazemore have the upside to win a gap?  You would need 130 from Harden/Westy to make up the ground IMO.

I'm trying to work AD as a contrarian play.  He has proven Westy/Harden upside.  West just played 2 games in three nights on the road making this 3 games in 4 nights.  has been a problem for him before but we are getting later int he season.

Small express slate saves the day again. Solo first in a mini rebound. Hit for $150. Same lineup netted a $25 ticket and $10. Might pick up another $4-$8 on the night. Had $66 in play tonite so it will be about $125 out tonite

What are these tickets you keep talking about?  I assume you are playing satellites to bigger entry gpps?

3rd decent night in a row.  Not that I am going nuts, but cashed all my LUs on both sites for both sports.  Got about $15 out of the night, so I will take that.  I think I might be almost getting to the break even point with NBA since I mostly just dabbled with the $.25 stuff on DK before so my losing streak didn't cost me a ton.  I am ahead in NHL now.  LU on FD got to 330+ so I was happy to see that.

Also split 2 $2 50/50s with Harden/George in them so $5 in and $403.60 out. Biggest win ever for this low stakes player.

Congrats weasel. Big night. I was wrong about westy  / ad. Saw a few westy Teague lineups that placed high but most were lead down the path to a bad value play

Had some free time yesterday so I put in my 1st $5 lineup of the season (I've played some freebies). I entered a 20 man and wound up winning it with 347.4 for $30 (top 6 got paid). Does anyone know how that score would have done in some of the larger tourneys from yesterday? Thanks.

p.s. Congrats RW. Very nice hit.

About $20 back on every dollar played in a GPP last night at your score.About $20 back on every dollar played in a GPP last night at your score.

in the Thur $375K NBA shot, $3 entry it would have finished tied for 368 for $40

In the $1 30k dribbler that I hit in it would have come in 74th and paid $20.

Pulled $200 of my winnings out to take the wife out for a dinner and casino night since my celebration woke her up at 5am today LOL.

Also props to hoopsguys content for pointing me to Livingston, Aminu and Parker.

Thanks! I was debating whether to go into a large tourney or a smaller league. Looks like it worked out about the same either way.

Don't know why but this LU just jumps out at me as strong

Wall/Brog/Klay/JJRed/Mello/Coving/Markif/Love/Whiteside

Thoughts??

Could also pivot off JJRed to Kilpatrick

Been reading through some things, but don't remember exactly - did I see Covington with a Q tag?

Also, it looks like KP might be playing tonight according to Rotoworld.  Does that move you off Mello if that's the case?

Haven't seen where Covington is Q

Not at all, Mello has been scoring 40+ with or without Porz and the total on that game is 213.5 and looks to be a close game with the PS at Mill -5.5, plenty of scoring to go around for the Nicks

Well with that blow to head looks like I'll try

Wall/Brog/Klay/Kilp/Mello/Wiggs/Love/Markif/Embiid

may also run a parallel LU of

Wall/Brog/Klay/JJRed/Mello/Wiggs/Love/Markif/Vucevic

Can pivot from JJRed to Kilpatrick and from Embiid to Vucevic in both of these LUs

Newbie question(s):

I had a LU I liked that had Brogdon and either Rivers/Felton at PG.  It looks like C.Paul is playing tonight which I assume kills the other two's value at PG a bit.  So..

1.  Do I assume correctly, or is one of those still an OK option at PG even with Paul playing?

2.  Is there somebody else in that 4700 and under range that is a decent pivot from those guys, or do I look at switching out a few players?

Where are you seeing that Paul is going to play?

Yes, it is a correct assumption that if Paul starts then both lose their value.

Not knowing who will get the minutes game to game makes playing them tough when Paul is out, if you are talking GPP then I would start 2 LUs with each as the #2 PG

Are we talking FD??  If so with Sergio out TJ McConnell is a cheap option as is Ty Lawson

Not sure I would go with 2 sub 5000 PGs, even in a GPP

Back at it after a week off to square the books on 2016, hang with the family, and recharge the batteries. 2016 saw me win quite a bit in daily MLB, win a bit in daily NBA, and break-even in daily NFL. Season-long leagues, however, were most unkind. For noobs, be sure to keep track of season-long league losses to reduce any 1099's you get from daily. Totally legit deduction. I just run all of my fantasy sports through a unique PP acount to keep track easily.

Tonight, is Barnes playable with the probable return of Gay? Is Reed trustable with Whiteside out? As always, cash perspective. Assuming those are both "yes", this is what I have now:

T. Johnson/Conley

Greek/Kilpatrick

Barnes/Melo

Jabari/Porzingis

Reed

Sigh, lets try again

Wall/Brog/AveB/Fourn/Mello/Cov/Love/Mark/Vucevic

Who's going to be listed as Q or out next???????
Hrmm. We are quite different in our lineups. With Klay out (likely) do you bump anyone? I'm thinking Durant may be more involved in the scoring, but it's Memphis, but then again Memphis #####-slapped them earlier so payback could be in play.

I just had a window open to rotoworld for news on injuries, etc.

Yes, on FD.  Will look at those two, thanks.

I ended up on this LU after looking at dofferent  site suggestions for good value guys, etc and it gave me the option of having both Giannis and Harden so I thought that sounded fun, but would need 2 cheap PGs.

If you need a cheap PG, Lawson is probably a decent punt. The concern there is Paul's probable return, assuming he's at close to 100%. A gimpy Paul might be exploitable tho. I really don't like the other cheap PG choices.

Hrmm. We are quite different in our lineups. With Klay out (likely) do you bump anyone? I'm thinking Durant may be more involved in the scoring, but it's Memphis, but then again Memphis #####-slapped them earlier so payback could be in play.
Mine are strictly GPP, not playing any cash unless you consider 100 player leagues cash.

Not sure I bump anyone with Klay out, and it looks like he will now be a GTD, if I'm going to spend at SF it will be with Mello

I guess if you just HAVE to find 2 cheap PGs, maybe gamble a bit on a Cleveland curb-stomping and roll w/ Dinwiddie? He might get an extra shift against a disinterested Cavs team in the 4th.

Makes me feel better.

I agree at SF. I've got him, but man Melo scares me every time I roster him.

I just had a window open to rotoworld for news on injuries, etc.

Yea I played around with a Brog/Felt/Ant/Hard LU and will probable put it in a few $3 dollar GPPs, if Paul plays then I will move to TYLaw or TJMcConn with Serg out
