Streaming CBs (1 Viewer)

I don't like carrying a lot of CBs on my roster. So I thought it could be useful to start a thread about streaming CBs. Nickel corners are usually available on waiver wires, even in very deep leagues. It's just hitting them on matchups where they will get enough snaps to put together some production. Also, it's going to be a struggle at work today because of the game last night, so I need a side project to keep me moving...

I looked at the average number of WRs each team has played for each snap on the year. This will tell us which teams are most likely to face nickel or dime defenses. Doing it for the year will put the emphasis on personnel and OC rather than game script. We'll see if this works.

1. GB 3.18

2. NYJ 3.06

The Packer's number is obviously inflated by not having any healthy RBs the last couple weeks. Just looking at the first 6 weeks when Eddie Lacy was healthy, their number becomes 2.88, still top 3. I also think the Broncos are inflated a bit because of Virgil Green's absence so I'm going to skip them for now to see if they drop. Saints were a surprise being middle of the pack. Apparently, they've been playing more 2 WR/2 TE sets. 'Skins were a surprise as well considering their receiving corp and the amount of work Crowder has been getting. There's a definite gap between 9 and 10 so I'll look at the top 9, skipping Denver.

Week 9

11.       GB plays Indy. Indy’s CB depth chart is a mess right now. Vontae Davis left last week with a concussion. He hasn’t cleared protocol yet. Patrick Robinson should be a good play. Rashaan Melvin and  Darius Butler have both been getting snaps and they’ve been swapping back and forth who gets more. It’s a little messy, but they should both get plenty of playing time this week, especially if Davis is ruled out. Clayton Geathers moves up and plays LB in sub packages so he should have a great week this week.

22.       NYJ play Miami. Based on snap counts I’m seeing, Miami doesn’t play in sub packages very much. They don’t have the depth at CB or S. If anyone has a better read, please let me know, but otherwise, I’m avoiding.

33.       NYG play Philly. It looks like Jalen Mills is the nickel corner. He should be a good play this week.

34.       JAX plays KC. It looks like Phillip Gaines plays nickel corner so he might be worth a look this week. Daniel Sorensen plays LB in sub packages so he should be worth a start this week.

55.       ARI is on bye.

66.       SF plays the Saints. DeVante Harris is the nickel corner but hasn’t been playing very many snaps lately while all 3 Safeties have been playing almost every snap. I’m not touching Harris.

77.       DET faces the Vikings. Captain Munnerlyn is the nickel back. Could be worth a look this week after a couple of down weeks. Although, he is questionable. If Cap’t is out, Trae Waynes should see an increase in snaps. This should also mean more opportunity for Danielle Hunter.

98.       MIA will play the Jets. Darryl Roberts got a lot of snaps last week with Buster Skrine out. Not sure if Skrine will play this week.

As for other CBs that were mentioned in recent posts. A very handsome guy mentioned CAR’s Leonard Johnson and WAS’s Kendall Fuller. Carolina faces the #17 Rams and doesn’t face another top 10 team this year. Washington is on bye, faces #1 GB week 11 and #5 ARI week 13. Someone else mentioned Bucs nickel corner Jude Adjei-Barimah. I actually picked him up in one league. Unfortunately, they face #32 Atlanta tonight so there might not be a lot of opportunities for him this week. JAB had big weeks against #6 SF and #10 OAK. He doesn’t have another matchup against a top 10 team the rest of the season. I wish I would’ve thought of this thread before picking him up.

This week is really just a test. So take these recommendations with a grain of salt. I’m too lazy to back-check the results.

CB's are ideal streamers.  Unfortunately my IDP leagues are all FAAB based so that doesn't scale.

Love this idea for a thread. Searching for that CB matchup is a nice way to spend an hour or so every week.

CB's are ideal streamers.  Unfortunately my IDP leagues are all FAAB based so that doesn't scale.
This is interesting to me, because I am in 4 leagues, 3 are full deep IDP, and there has been chatter about going to FAAB.

What I would like to see is a free FA period after waivers.  I see both sides, I like the ability to change out CBs as that rewards my research, but I also like the idea that people are married to a player a bit, and maybe being able to change CBs (or safeties in my case) like your socks isn't as challenging as having to roster domeone and hang onto them.

General thoughts on how you approach CBs?

I think looking at box score production is dangerous, and should almost be ignored.  Some CB getting 5 tackles in a game means very little.

There's the rookie corner rule, which everyone knows, and is good for yearlong starters, but not really much help in streaming CBs.

You know, something as small as knowing which side a player lines up on is helpful.  This whole, ''CB Jones is going to follow WR Smith around'' stuff is really overblown.  Most teams that play man regularly have a left and right guy, and the zone guys like SEA even more so.

For example, I know that Sean Smith plays RCB for OAK (left side of the offense).  When TB came to town, I know Evans lines up left a lot, and that Smith is the biggest CB the Raiders have, so if they were going to have someone shadow him, it would be Smith.  Plus, TB has no other passing options.  It was a perfect streaming CB.  How did it go?  First pass of the game, and Smith injures his arm breaking up a pass to Evans.   :sadbanana:

But I would do that again, and I think it was a good move.

All that to say that streaming CBs is a nice opportunity to take a 1000-foot view of the game.  What does this offense do?  Do they feed a WR no matter what?  Do they go after bad matchups?  To use my team again:  In the JAX game, the Raiders ignored Cooper, because they had Crabtree going against Amukamara.  Final stats:  Jalen Ramsey, 2 tackles, Amukamara 7 tackles.

This week, in different leagues I am benching Ronald Darby and DeShawn Shead.  Low scoring game on Monday night, with good defense, and a lot of incomplete passes sounds like it's on the menu, and the SEA scorers.

Phillip Gaines is my guy this week.

Allen Robinson runs his routes vs the RCB, and Marcus Peters is the LCB.

This is assuming Phillip Gaines is the starter, and not the nickel.  Anyone know?  He's been injured.

Vontae Davis cleared concussion protocol and will play tomorrow. I don't know enough to pick between Darius Butler and Rashaan Melvin. That said, Atlanta spent most of the second half last week in the dime so they both could still be desperation plays.

Bradley Roby -

In his first start of the year last week, he went for 4 solos, 3 assists, 2 passes defensed and a pick 6.  In the two articles below, Ike Taylor of Steeler fame and current contributor to NFL.com among others, called Roby the 3rd most valued cb in the league behind Patrick Peterson and Matheiu in the offseason, and even week 4, when Roby was playing about half of the snaps as a slot corner, he was featured on Ike's segment with a nice write-up.  Talib is out again Monday and Oakland will have to throw at will.  With Harris being the more respected between Harris and Roby, look for Carr to pick on Roby.  I anticipate that not ending well for Carr and the Raiders.

I picked up Roby but forgot to put him into my lineup... 8 solos, 1 assist and a sack. luckily I should win both match ups so it didn't hurt me.

I picked up Roby but forgot to put him into my lineup... 8 solos, 1 assist and a sack. luckily I should win both match ups so it didn't hurt me.
I started Roby and Flowers in most leagues, which is a nice change, I usually own the right guys but start the wrong ones

Two more weeks on the Roby trainDenver 7's Troy Renck reports Aqib Talib (back) will be sidelined through the Broncos' Week 11 bye.
This is actually good news considering Talib had to visit a specialist last week for a second opinion. If this report is accurate, it means he will be able to play after some rest and rehab. While Talib's presence would have been welcome this week against the Saints, his long-term availability is more important for the Broncos.

Grading the Week 9 picks:

1. Rashaan Melvin had 4 solos, 1 TFL and 1 PD. He played 85% of snaps (the lowest of Indy's top 4 CBs). Darius Butler had 1 solo/1 assist, 1 Int and 1 PD on 97% of the snaps.

3. Jalen Mills only had 2 solos on 56% of snaps. On the year, he's played 62% of snaps. So it seems Philly's sub package usage isn't based on offensive personnel.

4. Phillip Gaines had 7 solos, 1 Fumble Recovery and 1 PD on 83% of snaps. He plays 80% of snaps most weeks so this feels like a bit of a cheat.

7. Traes Waynes played as the nickel as Captain Munnerlyn had only 6 snaps due to the injury. Waynes ended with 3 solos and 2 PDs on 54% of snaps. Hard to get a read on how many snaps Waynes plays normally because he filled in for the injured Rhodes at the beginning of the year but had played behind Munnerlyn when everyone is healthy.

8. Darryl Roberts had 3/1 on 61% of snaps. With Marcus Williams out, Buster Skrine played almost all of the snaps with Roberts coming in for nickel packages. I think I saw a high ankle sprain for Williams so this usage should continue for a few weeks.

These stats aren't bad but it seems like a little more work needs to be done. KC obviously uses nickel quite a bit more than Philly but both teams seem to use it consistently, not based on opposing personnel. So I guess the next step is to rank defenses based on nickel usage, both teams that use it at high rate regardless of opponent (KC) and teams that adapt their usage based on opponent (potentially IND) and line up those defenses vs offenses that run a lot of 3 WR sets.

They can never just make it easy for us.

Hey, at this point of the season, there aren't many LB jobs to worry about, most jobs have been settled.  But if we can hit on a few of these guys, it can make a difference.

Maybe I'm just optimistic because I went with Gaines.

God I love a good spreadsheet. I should’ve been an accountant. I put together a spreadsheet of CB usage for each team. Rather than come up with an average number of CBs on the field for each play, since we’re trying to be predictive here, I picked out the nickel corner, when possible, and put together a percentage of snaps that CB played each game. That made it easy to see which teams used the 3rd CB the most and how they used them on a game to game basis.

The Good

-          Atlanta. High Usage. Atlanta is adaptive to their opponents on the high end, never playing Brian Poole less than 59% of snaps, but bumping up to 80%+ three times.

-          Cincinnati. Adaptive. Josh Shaw has had three good games. They’ve come when he played 73% of the snaps at NYJ (2nd in WR usage), 86% at NE (31st) and 74% against WAS (21st). They’re the only games Shaw has broken double digits in my league’s scoring system and the only games he’s broken 65% snap rate. He’s got the Giants (3rd) in Week 10.

-          Dallas. High Usage. The Cowboys have used their 3rd CB a minimum of 70% in every game this year. Between Orlando Scandrick and Anthony Brown, whoever has been healthy has been a solid play.

-          LA. High Usage. The Rams have been using Lamarcus Joyner a ton this year. He has the most snaps of all their CBs. He had one outlier week at 55%, but otherwise hasn’t dipped below 74%. Unfortunately, he’s also already owned in your CB-required leagues.

-          Kansas City. High Usage. When healthy, Phillip Gaines, has played more than 80% of snaps this year, regardless of opponent.

-          Minnesota. Adaptive. The Vikings react to their opponent. The nickel back has always played more than 50% and has hit 83% against the Packers, 97% against the Giants and 75% against the Texans. Captain Munnerlyn is banged up right now, opening the door for Trae Waynes. Whoever is playing in Week 11 vs the Cardinals and Week 16 at GB should have plenty of opportunities.

-          Jets. Adaptive. Marcus Williams has been the 3rd CB while healthy, playing a healthy number of snaps. Darryl Roberts has taken over while Williams has been hurt. Matchups definitely matter though.

-          Oakland. Adaptive. Raider use DJ Hayden based on the opponent, registering snaps rates ranging from 27% to 78%. He’s had good games when he’s topped 70%. He’s also playing outside while Sean Smith is banged up.

-          Philadelphia. Unpredictably Adaptive. This situation is a little messy. Jalen Mills puts up points when he gets opportunities, but I can’t get a read on why he’s getting the opportunities in any given game. His rises in snap percentage don’t correlate with opposing passing offenses.

-          Pittsburgh. Adaptive. The Steelers had been using Artie Burns as their #3. Burns started last week in place of the injured William Gay.

-          Washington. Adaptive. The Redskins used Dashaun Phillips while Kendall Fuller got up to speed. Now Fuller has been playing quite a bit, hitting 63%, 49%, 87%, 75% and 83%. The ‘Skins play Minnesota this week so there won’t be much opportunity, depending on Breeland’s status, but get the Packers in Week 11 and the Cardinals in Week 13.

The Bad

-          Arizona. 3 Safety. The Cards almost always have 3 Safeties on the field so they rarely use a 3rd CB.

-          Buffalo. Low Usage. Nickell Robey is usually on the field for 50-60% of the snaps. He’ll be very hard to predict.

-          Denver. Low Usage. Before Talib’s injury, Bradley Roby was the 3rd CB. The highest snap percentage he had in a game was 68%. It’ll be a situation to avoid once Talib is healthy again.

-          Detroit. Low Usage. Quandre Diggs is the nickel CB. He hasn’t topped 72% of snaps yet this year.

-          Green Bay. 3 Safeties. The Packers use 3 safeties most of the time and rarely use a 3rd CB.

-          Jacksonville. Low Usage. The Jaguars have 4 solid CBs. It looks like Aaron Colvin has taken over the role the last few games, but hasn’t topped 67% snap percentage yet.

-          Miami. No 3rd CB. The Dolphins usually only play 2 CBs.

-          Seattle. No Production. The Seahawks use Jeremy Lane at a decent clip, but he rarely produces.

-          Tennessee. No Production. The Titans have used Brice McCain as their 3rd CB. Snap rate ranges from 45%-90%. He hasn’t produced. With Perrish Cox injured, McCain played every snap and Antwon Blake took over the nickel role.

-          Tampa Bay. Low Usage. The Bucs used Alterraun Verner and now Jude Abjei-Barimah as their 3rd CB. JAB has produced, but it’s tenuous. The top snap rate on the year has been 67%.

The Ugly

-          Baltimore. Messy but Watch. Injuries have forced the Ravens to be all over the place. They’re worth watching though as former Cardinal Jerraud Powers may have taken over the role.

-          Carolina. Messy but Watch. Injuries and releasing Benwikere have made the Panthers hard to follow. They are worth watching though as Leonard Johnson has taken over the role coming back from injury.

-          Cleveland. Up in the Air. Tramon Williams has been the nickel corner but played all the snaps in the most recent game Haden missed. In the last game, with Haden back, Williams played more snaps than Jamar Taylor. So it’s a situation to watch.

-          Chicago. Messy but Watch. The Bears have been using anyone they can find at CB. DeVante Bausby seems to have taken over the role in the last two games. Bears play the Giants in Week 11 and the Packers in Week 15. Worth a longer look if Bausby still has the job at that point.

-          Houston. Messy. Texans CB usage has been all over the map this year.

-          Indy. Messy. Colts have been playing four CBs for decent snaps for the last several weeks. Hard to know who will be the guy when they’re not playing the Packers.

-          New Orleans. Messy. The Saints have had a ton of different CBs play due to injury.

-          New England. Messy. Bill Belicheck…

-          Giants. Messy. Leon Hall is the normally the slot CB but often the 4th CB to play depending on who’s healthy.

-          San Diego. Messy. Several CBs have been playing for San Diego since Verrett went down. And they just released Steve Williams who had started two games.

-          San Francisco. Messy. It’s hard to read the 49er’s situation so I’m avoiding it.

Hopefully this adds another variable to the equation in order to make it more accurate at predicting future production.

Looking at the schedule, the first matchup on my schedule grid is AZ/SF, and that sure seems like a nice tackle opportunity for the entire SF defense.  Last week, Fitz and Nelson both had over 10 targets.  I'm not sure that they will need to throw the ball in this game much, lord help you if you are playing against David Johnson this week.  However, they will throw the ball some, and probably at will vs the worst team in the league.  Trumaine Brock has had some very nice tackle numbers this year already, more than 5 in the last three games.  Jimmie Ward does not, and has been injured.  But it looks like he is playing the RCB spot, and the Cards threw it more to the left vs CAR, it seems like that's where JJ Nelson is most comfortable.  I don't see any rhyme or reason to Larry Fitzgerald's lining up, he plays everywhere, and I don't think anyone is following him around in coverage, so I dunno if I want to pursue that angle.  Either one of these guys are probably fine streamers, and I would consider starting them both this week, come to think of it.  I expect 75+ defensive snaps this week for SF.

PHI corners this week?  ATL and Julio Jones comes to town. Nolan Carroll is the RCB, so he would draw Julio as an assignment.  This seems like a fine choice, and I play in a league with a ton of Philly fans, and he's a free agent, so he probably is in yours.

BAL/CLE seems juicy, but I dunno.  Smitty plays on the right a lot, where Haden is, and Wallace isn't really a target monster.  Haden might get more action than normal in this one.  Like the two games above better for CB options, and I'm a Jamar Taylor guy.

NE/SEA is a game I cannot wait to watch, and I will ride DeShaun Shead in this game.  Maybe I am not thinking clearly enough about this, but I like the idea of Brady nickel and diming his way down the field, and avoiding Sherman, that seems like a game plan the Pats would use.  He's probably rostered in your CB league tho, right?  FIne, I am just bragging.
CIN/NYG  Who gets ODB?  Looks like De Kirkpatrick.  Dre has some nice tackle numbers the last month.  Yeah, I like this one.  He didn't have many tackles vs Antonio Brown in week 2, however.  Hmmm, but Brown only had 4 catches on 11 targets that game.

Vernon Hargreaves?  Plays on the RCB spot, opposite Alshon, and if I had to pick a streamer to run back a pick 6, this guy vs Cutler would be my call.

Jamar Taylor's snaps dropped dramatically last week. He's banged up with a groin. That probably could've been worded better... But he might miss this week.

Ken Crawley is another one of my normal starters who's snaps dropped a ton last week. Delvin Breaux coming back may have taken Crawley's spot. I just traded Crawley away to move from the 6th to the 5th round in the next draft...

Jimmie Ward played all the snaps last week for the first time since coming back from injury. That marks three games this year he's been healthy and played every snap. Each of those three games, he has hit double digits scoring in my primary league. After the Cards, they've got the Pats, Jets in Week 14 and Falcons in Week 15.

Orlando Scandrick played all the snaps last week with Mo Claiborne banged up. I'm willing to bet the Steelers will have more offensive success this week than the Browns had last week. Scandrick should produce. Weirdly, Anthony Brown is owned in my primary league but Scandrick isn't. People love that (R).

Week 10 Nickel streamers

1. Green Bay plays Tennessee this week. Brice McCain is a desperation sleeper. He'll probably play every snap and still won't produce though so I'm avoiding.

2. Jets play LA. Not a great streamer here. They're all owned already.

3. Giants play Cincy. Josh Shaw is the nickel and should see plenty of the field. Could put together a couple tackles. OBJ played more snaps in the slot last week as the Giants are becoming more comfortable using Sterling Shepard outside.

4. Jax plays Houston. Not a great streamer there.

5. Massraider mentioned Arizona's matchup above.

6. SF plays ARI. Cards played a 3rd CB two weeks ago with the Honeybadger on the shelf, but not enough to trust.

7. Lions are on bye.

8. Miami is at San Diego. Chargers are a mess so it's an avoid.

Not great nickel streamer options this week. Luckily, Ward and Scandrick should be available. Phillip Gaines is worth a pickup if he's still available. They have the Panthers this week. If you have a roster spot, it might be a good time to be proactive on Kendall Fuller.

There's talk of Darqueze Dennard getting more snaps for the Bengals going forward. He was a 1st round pick. They might as well let him play a bit. That would come at the expense of Josh Shaw and potentially Dre Kirkpatrick. I don't think Dennard is worth a pickup yet, but he's worth a spot on your watchlist. And it potentially eliminates Shaw as a streamer option this week.

I'm a week early, but sometimes you have to beat the crowds and the hype.  They would take up a roster spot this week, as they'd be hard to use vs. the chiefs, but Worley and Bradberry are both playing 100% of the snaps at cb for the Panthers and I anticipate it staying that way the rest of the year, barring injury, and they have already had their bye.  Check out this schedule weeks 11-16...

Anyone know what happened with Phillip Gaines? Picked him up to stream this week, but it looks like he only played 17 snaps? Guy was getting a lot of play when he was healthy. Did he get injured?

Yeah he got hurt.  News today is he'll be ok going forward, but he was out for a good chunk of the game.

Though you might think the Falcons and Seahawks were fairly cb friendly offenses(I did), they are not, but I stand by my statement above (where I added where the teams rank vs corners) mainly because we think we know that Bradberry and Worley are locked in as 3 down cb's and teams are usually forced to throw vs Carolina, but the team with the best schedule the rest of the way for cb's is far and away the Texans.  The murky part is that if Bouye is back this week, will Joseph and Jackson keep their roles as playing 90% of the snaps, or a 3 way carousel, etc.  If you can decide who plays the most snaps, here's the texans remaining schedule and how they rank vs cb's.

Raiders 10th

Chargers 6th

Packers 8th

Colts 13th

Jags 2nd

Bengals 11th

The team that gives up by far the most points to cb's (20% more than any other team) is the Cardinals.  If you want to try to take advantage of that and pick on them in general, here is their schedule the rest of the way.

Vikings (Rhodes, Waynes, etc.)

Falcons (Alford and Trufant most likely owned, Poole available) Trufant might still be out that week, if so Jalen Collins might be your meal ticket here

Redskins (Norman and Breeland probably owned)

Dolphins (Maxwell probably owned, Lippett and/or Howard probably available)

Saints (Breaux, Webb, Moore) might all be available

Seahawks (Shead owned, Sherman maybe, Lane definitely not (had 7 tackles vs Cards in the first meeting))

Week 10 review:

Jimmie Ward: 7 solos/4 PDs. I'd call that a win. Too bad they don't play ARI every week. Rest of Ward's schedule isn't great for CBs, but Ward the 49ers are unique in that they'll offer the most tackle opportunities on a week-to-week basis.

Orlando Scandrick: 5 solos. Solid. Scandrick played fewer snaps than Anthony Brown this week so Scandrick may just be coming in for the nickel. The Cowboys play a ton of nickel, so Scandrick should still be useful against good passing offenses.

Phillip Gaines suffered a neck injury in this one. Keep an eye on his status. The Chiefs play their 3rd CB about 80% of the time, regardless of opponent. If Gaines is out, Kenneth Acker looks like he'll take his place. Schedule isn't great but could be a desperation play just on his usage.

The Bengals have muddied one of the more predictable situations by giving Darqueze Dennard snaps at Josh Shaw's expense. They're both hands off until one of them takes over the majority of the snap share.

Week 11 Streamers:

As Robar mentioned, play your CBs against the Cardinals. It's good for you. The same can be said about the Packers. And look, Washington plays them both in the next 3 weeks. Norman and Breeland are probably already owned, but Kendall Fuller has been playing a lot against teams that use 3 WR sets. He should be startable this Week 11 and Week 13.

This week, AZ plays MIN. Xavier Rhodes and Terrance Newman should be solid plays. The third possibility will be dependent on Captain Munnerlyn's ankle. If Munnerlyn plays, he should get plenty of chances to produce. If he's out again or limited, Trae Waynes will take his place. Waynes has been involved all year, but his snaps go down quite a bit when Rhodes, Newman and Munnerlyn are all healthy.

Leonard Johnson vs the Saints. He's been playing a good number of snaps, but has only really produced against AZ. It's worth a shot but there are probably better options available.

hope it is Ok to post this here...if not just let me know

who do you like better for this week, D Worley vs Oak or K Jackson vs NO?

Sorry for taking last week off. Holiday and all...

GB faces Houston this week. I'm sure AJ Bouye, Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson are all already owned.

NYJ face Indy. This situation is always difficult to read. They play 4 CBs regularly and it's impossible to stay up-to-date on Vontae Davis' injuries.

NYG face Pittsburgh. William Gay is the 3rd corner now that Artie Burns took his starting spot.

Jacksonville faces Denver. Bradley Robey may be worth a look.

ARI faces Washington. If Kendall Fuller is available, he's definitely worth a pickup this week.

49ers are against the Bears this week. Chicago's situation is messy. Tracey Porter is the only guy guaranteed to get snaps.

A few situations to monitor, Josh Shaw played Safety with Shawn Williams out with injury. A corner getting Safety snaps will be useful if Williams is out again. Steven Nelson was out last week, allowing Phillip Gaines to start and play all the snaps. Jalen Collins has played in place of the injured Desmond Trufant. Collins has played well with his opportunities this year. Robert Alford will be a UFA so keep an eye on Collins in the offseason in dynasty.

Kendall fuller is the slot corner in WAS and they will be in the nickel all day. Though Norman is expected to see some fitz in the slot, fuller will get plenty of him and ARI is a God send to cb's. Starting him in every league even as less than a full time player

From Rotoworld:

Redskins signed CB Dashaun Phillips.
Phillips is taking David Bruton’s spot on the active roster. He’s spent the last nine weeks on Washington's practice squad. Phillips should push Kendall Fuller for slot reps.

well then I guess he's risky but man, rookies Kendall Fuller and Kevon Seymor have beautiful matchups today if they see 70% of snaps or more, which I think they do...

I mean it may be nothing, but wanted to make sure you saw it just in case it changes your opinion on the situation.

it scares me but man those two have fantastic matchups.  Seymour supposed to play for Robey vs the Raiders who run the most plays per game and throw 40+ times.  Fuller playing the team that gives up the most points to cb's the last 5 weeks by a landslide, and they play nothing but 3 wides so Fuller will be on the field, sure he doesn't lose his job to a guy off the PS for 5 minutes, but it is worth noting.

Not that your assessment for the week is wrong, but Phillips is more than a guy on the PS for 5 minutes.  He was with the Redskins last year, including a handful of starts, and was on the roster this year before being cut and resigned to the PS.  They know him, and he knows the system.  Makes it more risky that he eats into some of Fuller's playing time.

The thing about Collins is, he's playing most the snaps and Atlanta has mostly good matchups the rest of the year and Atlanta has been mostly consistent scoring. They force other teams to pass, which means opportunity for the CB's.

I am aware it doesn't always work like that and corners for the most part are a crapshoot week to week.

I know Daryl Worley currently has 6 total tackles which is great, but I'm watching the game and it doesn't look like he's out there much. Am I missing him? Seems like Bradberry is obviously the #1, and then McClain and... Johnson(?) are out there way more than Worley. Thought Worley was the starter opposite Bradberry. Anything happen?

EDIT:

I was watching the season finale of Westworld and I guess Worley got a concussion? I just didn't know because it's not even on Rotoworld and no one in the broadcast seems to be talking about it.

Yeah, Worley missed the entire second half. I really hope he's back next week. He is a solid scoring db and hopefully he's not having a bad concussion.

MFL already has Worley (O-Out) for this week, not sure if they did that since he was injured and left the game or if Carolina has already listed him as out. I have not seen anything to confirm this so far. Guy has been awesome hate to lose him at this point.

Concussion, in protocol.

Marcus Peters plays left side of line, opposite Crabtree.  Nelson should get some action vs. Coop tomorrow night.  I would not be surprised if this is a running game, tho, as both teams play tight vs. each other, and neither want the stud pass rusher to swing the game.

I'm still starting Nelson, tho.

I'm deciding between Nelson, Alford, and Gilmore (starting 2).

Alford has dropped off his last 3-4 games, and since he's playing the Rams, I don't think he will have that many opportunities this week...trying to talk myself out of Alford, but wanted some validation for it.

I don't like anyone to get a lot of tackles or ATL in that one.

I feel like GIlmore plays the right side, and Antonio normall plays left side of defense.

Who's the Biolls other corner?? Think Darby is hurt.

Darby was out last week, but Rex says he is out of concussion protocol. Gilmore got 3 tackles and that's it last week with him out. He's had a lot of quiet games since week 3 besides week 11 after AJ Green got injured.

I also have Joseph, who cracked 2 ribs and bruised a lung last week and Slay who misses 0-2 snaps per game.

I love Worley. I don't know how the hell this guy is so damn consistent with his tackles, but long may it continue. Guy just helped me get to the championship in a big way. I needed it too because I was up against Le'Veon today.

Agreed, was so glad he was playing, I had picked up Bradberry just in case but as soon I saw he was practicing I was very happy.
