I don't think anyone here watches Clippers games so I might just be talking to myself.

I really like the 2nd unit. Mo Speights is a big plus off the bench, but then I thought the same thing about Spencer Hawes and Cole Aldridge early the last 2 seasons.

I don't want Melo. It's going to be a tough stretch without CP but Melo is not the answer long term or short term.

Melo for a couple ####ty contracts isn't something you would want? Where is the downside?
The downside is NY would want Redick, Rivers, Crawford and maybe more.
JJ is one of the best knockdown specialists in the game; he hits 3's in catch&shoot plays as well as off the dribble. He stretches the floor for pickNrole lobs for the big guys and doesn't hold the ball in iso situations. Crawford is an iso creator like Melo, so that's a more comparable match.
What's going to happen to the Clipper bench if they trade away 3 key scorers for a ball dominant SF?

Nobody wants Rivers or Crawford with their contracts, they would be throw ins to match salary, so I doubt both would be needed. Ultimately, it's all moot anyway, the Clippers have nothing of value to include in a trade other than Brice Johnson and an expiring JJ Redick.

The Clippers do need to be looking into making a trade, IMO. Redick, Paul, and Griffin are all going to be free agents. Redick is going to be getting close to $20 million a year, Paul is going get close to $40 million a year, and Griffin will be getting close to $30 million a year. That is on top of the $23 million for Jordan, the $26 million combined for Crawford and Rivers, and another $10 million or so in other salaries.

You're talking salaries. I'm talking actual production.
You're looking at numbers, I'm watching the games.

17-18 Clippers have one of the best frontcourts in the league but the backcourt leaves much to be desired. I hope Teodosic turns out to the be the playmaker he's been touted as.

What good thing can we say about this year's roster?

They should be able to play some good defense?

not sure about that, but there is a pretty slim margin between player 1 and player 12.

if that's good.

If there is a current team that could play full court press for a full game it may be this roster.  Go old school Loyola Marymount for an game when they face a team on a back-to-back.  Make it happen Doc.

Roster wise, I wonder if the Clippers will look to move Beverly or Teodosic early in the season.  Phoenix, Orlando, or even San Antonio make sense as trade partners.

F the Warriors.
Oh, and F the Rockets while I'm F'ing people. I hope Harden gets burning herpes today.
