[Dynasty] 2018 Draft Class (4 Viewers)

Oregon State junior RB Ryan Nall ran for 84 yards on 19 carries in a 15-14 loss to Stanford on Thursday.

Nall showed why he's one of the better power-running tailbacks in the league, consistently making Stanford miss and churning out yardage. Unfortunately for Nall, he had a devastating fumble as Oregon State was trying to close out the game; giving Stanford terrific field position and allowing them to score the game-winning touchdown with just 20 seconds left. The Beavers are still winless in conference play. They'll look to change that next week against Cal in Berkeley.

SMU redshirt junior WR Courtland Sutton caught six passes for 136 yards in a 38-34 victory over Tulsa on Friday.

Sutton (6'4/214) has now gone over 100 yards in three of the last four games. The only thing the junior wideout was unable to do was find the end zone, but to say he was a big part of SMU putting up 38 points is an understatement. He's one of the most productive receivers in all of college football, and a legit first-round candidate should he enter the draft. SMU takes on UCF next week.

Oklahoma redshirt junior TE Mark Andrews caught six passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 49-27 win over Texas Tech.

Andrews (6'5/245) hauled in the last touchdown of the game, catching the ball from seven yards out as he went to the ground. There was initially some question as to whether the redshirt junior had maintained control all the way through the catch, but it was subsequently confirmed by replay. For the campaign, Andrews is working to a 36-599-4 receiving line in eight games.

UCLA junior QB Josh Rosen sustained a finger injury in Saturday's loss to Washington.

Rosen was forced out in the third quarter against the Huskies and cameras caught him bleeding from the fingers as he exited for the locker room. After the game, Bruins HC Jim Mora said that the junior gunslinger was dealing with "multiple things." His playing status for next Friday's game against Utah has yet to be determined. With a previous shoulder surgery already under his belt, any significant injury could potentially raise some red flags for the draft.

San Diego State senior RB Rashaad Penny ran for 253 yards on 30 carries with two touchdowns in an easy 28-7 victory over Hawaii on Saturday.

Now that's more like it. After struggling against Fresno State and Boise State for a combined 132 years, Penny went off against the Warriors' defense. His first score was your typical one-yard plunge in the third quarter, and his second score was only typical for backs like him; a 60-yard scamper in the fourth that put the game out of reach at 28-7. The Aztecs and Penny will look to keep this going next week in a plus matchup against San Jose State.

I was very excited about this kid, but if he's 150 years old, he's just feeding off younger college kids and probably won't translate to the NFL.  Too bad.

USC redshirt sophomore QB San Darnold threw for three scores and 266 yards on 19-of-35 passing in Saturday's 48-17 rout of Arizona State on Saturday.

All things considered, this might have been the best game of Darnold's season. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound quarterback was especially good in the first half, finding freshman wideout Tyler Vaughns for two scores and Deontay Burnett for another to give the Trojans a 31-10 lead at halftime. He also had a 39 yard run that showed off his underrated athleticism, as well. Unfortunately, there were still fits of inaccuracy here, but this was much better than what we saw from the sophomore QB against Notre Dame. He'll look to build on this next week in a showdown with Arizona.

Oklahoma senior QB Baker Mayfield threw for four touchdowns and 281 yards on 22-of-34 passing in a 49-27 rout of Texas Tech on Saturday.

Another big game for the Sooners, another big performance for Mayfield. The 6-foot, 220-pound quarterback was outstanding with his right arm in this one, and he added a rushing touchdown for good measure. He hooked up with CeeDee Lamb on two of his scores, and he found Mark Andrews and Marquise Brown for another. This was another Heisman-like performance, and this will be another game that will look good on the quarterback's tape come draft time. Next week is a big one; a showdown with rival Oklahoma State.

FOX Sports' Bruce Feldman passes along that the hand injury sustained by UCLA junior QB Josh Rosen on Saturday is not considered serious.

It's not quite clear if Rosen is dealing with a hand injury or a finger injury, but regardless, the Bruins are not viewing it as a major encumbrance. They'll probably be playing things relatively cautious during the practice week, but at least at this juncture, it does not appear as though the junior gunslinger will be in danger of missing Friday's game against Utah.

The Senior Bowl spoke with one Midwest NFL Scout who said Eastern Michigan's Brogan Roback was the top graded QB in the area.

We aren't sure what schools technically make up the Midwest, maybe Idaho's Matt Linehan and Ohio State's J.T. Barrett, but it is high praise to be singled out. Roback's 11 touchdowns to eight interceptions could be improved.

Texas Tech junior WR Keke Coutee has caught seven touchdowns from the slot this season, tied for the most in the 2017 season according to Pro Football Focus.

Coutee (5'11/180) is tied with USC wideout Deontay Burnett and Wake Forest's Greg Dortch with seven touchdowns out of the slot. With the NFL game spreading teams out, slot receivers are becoming more and more apart of offenses, and Koutee -- while playing in a very friendly system -- has shown he's one of the best at the position in the country. It's something scouts and analysts will certainly take note of as they study the Red Raider wideout's tape, should he chose to enter the 2018 draft.

NC State senior H-Back Jaylen Samuel has caught 54 of his 63 targets so far in 2017.

That equals an 85.3 catch rate for Samuels (5'11/236) which is not only the highest of any tight end, it's the highest of any other receiver, period. Scouts still aren't sure what position Samuel is going to play at the next level, but his ability to haul everything in -- and make something happen after hauling it in -- that you can just about line him up everywhere. He has another chance to impress scouts next week against the Clemson defense.

Washington State senior QB Luke Falk will start on Saturday against Stanford.

Falk was replaced by Tyler Hilinski late in the second quarter, and the 6-foot-4, 233-pound signal-caller didn't return in the game. In his place, Hilinski had 500 yards and four total scores, but he also threw four interceptions and the Cougs were blown out 58-37 in Arizona. Falk could be on a short-leash on Saturday, as he's now been benched twice this year.

That fact that they are labeling Samuel  a TE should be punishable by law!

ESPN's Mel Kiper says he'll move Notre Dame redshirt junior G Quenton Nelson up from No. 11 in his next Big Board rankings and that Nelson will "have one of the best grades for a guard that I've given out in my 35 years of doing this."

Nelson is coming off another dominant performance against NC State. "He's a rare talent," Kiper wrote. "Guards rarely go in the top 10 of the draft, but the 6-foot-5, 330-pound Nelson has a chance to do it." Further, NFL Draft Scout's Dane Brugler and MMQB's Albert Breer have both written recently that Nelson could be a top-five pick. "He has tremendous agility and quickness, can pull on the move and is incredibly physical," Kiper wrote. "Nelson is like a brick wall. ... He's just an outstanding football player."

Excerpt from the ESPN linked article above:

McShay: Jake Wieneke, TE, South Dakota State

I know I had a San Diego State pass-catcher last week, but Wieneke caught eight passes for 97 yards and three TDs in a 52-24 win over Western Illinois. He has 11 TDs in eight games this year and 54 for his career.
