The Chiefs are in Missouri.  It’s only funny because I’d bet my mortgage Trump couldn’t find KC on a map

The stadium is in Missouri.  The metro area spans both states.

Trump is a moron, but anyone who lives in or has spent time in KC knows that Kansas is one of the 2 states that geographically contain the city and hey, a bunch of the fans.

No, just mocking the president's complete lack of geography knowledge, that's all.

People don’t have to try and explain this for him. He screwed up, it’s funny.

It is distressing to know that a lot of young, impressionable people will be watching this awful interview where the president of America, a seventy-three year old man, expresses himself by using the most juvenile kind of name calling to describe his opponents.

My school years were spent with Carter and Reagan. I did not know what politics were but I felt they had a dignity about themselves, and they presented an image of pride for America.

I can't imagine the effect on the psyche of some twelve-year-old who hears the President talking like a third rate insult comedian.

99.9% of 12 year olds could care less what the president says and definitely won't watch or even know what he said.

With this president, that's probably for the best, actually. Let the kids get more wholesome role models than Trump.

The sharpie on the map was more absurd. We’ll see if he learned that you just need to own mistakes and not try and keep digging.

I thought it was pretty common sense that the Chiefs played in MO and that's the state that people refer to when talking about the team.  Make's sense since it's the biggest city in MO.

When you think about it, Missouri got a pretty good deal.  Not only do they get the important part of Kansas City, they managed to foist East St. Louis onto Illinois.

Not really.  Folks in the KC area are super clear about whether they live in KS or MO.   It’s more extreme than in the Twin Cities, where people affiliate with either Minneapolis, St Paul, or neither.

I attended a Super Bowl party which happened to include several 12-year-old girls. When the Trump commercial came on the TV, the following actual conversation took place:

Girl #1: This sucks! This is the worst Super Bowl commercial ever!
Girl #2: President Trump is a weirdo.
Girl #3: My friend says that President Trump is a giant Cheeto.
Me: He's not a giant Cheeto.
Girl #3: Then why is he so orange?
Me: Um...that's a good question. Let's just say, he wears a lot of makeup.
Girl #3: But why does he wear so much makeup? Is he insecure?
Me: That's....also a really good question.
Girl #1: My aunt is really insecure and she wears a lot of makeup all the time. My dad says she looks like a hooker.
Girl #2: What's a hooker?
Me: No more questions! The game's back on!

Yeah, if Trump mentioned both -- i.e., congratulated the great states of Kansas and Missouri -- I don't think anyone would have questioned his tweet, and the "but Chiefs fans are in both states" take would be a correct take.  But, singling out just one state, I think it has to be Missouri.

Kansas City (Missouri) was founded in 1838 and named after the Kansas River, long before the state or territory of Kansas existed.

Kansas City (Kansas) wasn't formed until 34 years later.
