Any suggestions is seriously welcomed.

I'm trying to get started doing some leather working.  Figured it would be cool to make my own belt/wallet etc and also allow for better gift giving.

Video games are losing their enjoyment for me when I have time to kill.  I'm either depressed or maturing.  I'd like to try a new hobby first and see what happens.

This is a great idea--and I can personally tell you that it can also be very lucrative.   Working in the world of jewelry and watches--I can tell you firsthand that lots of watch collectors pay big money for custom made leather watch straps (my use of the word "leather" would include exotics such as lizard, croc, gator..etc).   Many collectors like saying they own something that is "one of one'--and custom watch straps are a way that they can achieve this.  There are people that have become specialists in creating these straps out of leather that are making good money selling  these to collectors.   It could end up being a hobby that turns into a very solid side business for you.

Can be a big initial investment,  but I enjoy my aquarium quite a bit. I enjoy the artistic side scaping the tank and it's fun to keep different types of plants and fish. And of course, I get the benefit of seing my work every day in my living room

Radio Control Boats - I've made this kit, this kit and this kit and its a lot of fun.  It involves many aspects of woodworking.  Sanding, staining, fiber-glassing and more.  I do boats instead of cars and planes because cars and planes can crash, ruining all the work.  Boat kits tend to be very detailed and its pretty relaxing going to the pool or pond and driving the boats around.  They also make incredible display pieces in the house.

Time you make for yourself to keep from going insane due to your wife and kids.
Unless somebody figures out a way to add more hours in a day, I can't make time for myself.

18 year old daughter attending local college (she doesn't eat up my free time, just all my money)

15 year old freshman daughter playing high school basketball & travel softball (of which I'm the head coach)

14 year old 8th grade daughter playing middle school volleyball

11 year old 5th grade daughter playing Saturday basketball, volleyball and travel softball

I think I have a free week in May sometime.. I'll have to find something to do for that week...

How/where exactly would one get a start in this kind of craft?

All the talk about making your own alcohol got me thinking since I'm not a drinker but I do like to smoke weed.  I grew weed for a few years and enjoyed that.    I can see myself doing that once I get back into it.

wow. feel free to mix in a Y Chromosome every now and again.

drinking/collecting was my initial thought.

if you have the ways and means of a FBG, then growing/making could be a possibility.
Someone here has a small vineyard. Can't remember who.

We drink nearly a case a week, so we stick to the ones in the $10-$15 range. I've thought about collecting but I'm not sure how long they'd last and it would defeat the purpose.

collecting comes in various forms in my experience: i've got friends with 2000 bottle cellars and who are on every "cult wine" mailing list you can name; and i've got other friends who dabble here and there, picking up interesting bottles from lesser known growing regions and varietals.

personally, i'm more into learning** about wine in general, i..e. winemaking practices, how the industry functions, where to find good values, etc., and of course that involves drinking.

(** i work in the industry, so it's a little different i guess)

I love learning about the wines and the process as well. What do you do in the industry?

I'm a big fan of the website lastbottlewines.com I get some good deals there.

Maybe look into condom collecting as a new hobby.

yeah "shoot" for a son the next break you get...then you guys can brew mead, play guitar, and do leather crafting together.

i'm the hospitality director for a small winery in Sonoma.

last bottle is a good resource, as is WTSO and Garagiste.

I am thinking about checking out a shooting range... you know, just to blow off some steam.  If I get board with that, visiting bell towers might be next.
