Those are the two biggest names I've seen so far.

List other ones here...

(If they lay off my boy Randy Pedersen, we've got problems.)

I don't see Stephen A. on that list
he is currently the face of the franchise   guy isn't going anywhere for a loooooong time.

this is not an endorsement of the SAS shtick, just a fact -

i'd rather see Hill go before him ...she is complete and utter hot gahhhhhrrrbage  :X

In its defense, ESPN did let Danny Kanell go along with many talented people. Also, I'm not sure there is a business model existent in the near future that will allow them to earn enough to cover their rights fee commitments.

The photos Stephen A must have in a vault somewhere must be super crazy.
About the 5th time he's been mentioned here and even the local radio guys mentioned his name when covering this story.  Obviously he brings a ton of publicity to the mothership.

Pretty much the worst thing ESPN puts on the air is the morning stuff with him debating. Somewhere somebody likes it, not sure who.

I assume this means you dont care when people lose their jobs?
People I've never met or barely know who they are?  Not really.  You think Danny Kanel would give a crap if you lost yours?

It's a terrible irrelevant network so hopefully anyone with any marginal talent bolts and leaves them with the tabloid clowns like Steven A

Like it or not it's ESPN's highest rated show (has been for a long time) and he's the face of it.

I also read that the people who were on the chopping block were the specialist.  The people who worked across multiple shows or platforms were prioritized.  Seems to have held true in the cuts that are showing up.

Would make for an interesting poll.  I'd honestly love to know who enjoys his BS...even remotely.

So that's why schefter started doing some NBA

They should have followed me to freedom.

Not sure how true this is, but the fox sports regional guys may have the right model.  They only pay out what they get in ad revenue, and the rights fees come from the subscriptions.

The personalities on our regional fox sports sites are semi-famous and are approachable in public.  One in particular, Emily Jones lives a couple doors down from my parents and their kids are in a general age range.

She is pretty open about how she makes in the 45k a year range.  All her main income is from speakers fees for local events, and paid overtime for travelling gigs that Fox proper can't source.  That all works out to 3-4x more than her base.  She even has to buy all her own clothes for TV.

The broadcast play by play guys make in the 200k range working 200 days a year even counting expenses.  That's #### pay.  They get some endorsements that bring their take home up a bit as well as speakers fees, but those are harder given schedule and all that.

I don't know what salaries would look like at ESPN if they just paid out salary on the ad buys.  Probably a #### ton less, but that's the model they probably have to get to.

Russillo and Kannell is actually one of the few shows I'll tune into once in a while.  Just normal dudes talking sports without the hyperbole.

sucks that one got canned and the other is reduced

With the reporters who are left after the purge I sure hope they don't turn up the "This athlete sucks!" to drive up ratings.  So tired of seeing this crap.  Is Lebron better than Jordan?  Westbrook is not a complete player and causes his team to lose games.   Good riddance
