Can you guess Sirius XMs Lithiums (grunge/alt station) top song of the 90s on their Mem day countdown. Elbowrm got it. Entire list posted (1 Viewer)

So I was driving to the beach yesterday and got to hear the top 57/100 songs on their countdown. After talking to my wife about what I thought could be the top 10, I was in the ballpark but not too close. I got two of the top 5 correct but not in the right order. 

What would you say they had number one on their countdown. Unlike Willie, I will tell you if you are right or wrong. I dont think I would have gotten it if you gave me 100 songs to guess with.

Number 5. Was my guess for number 1 also

I would expect Jeremy, Alive, Even Flow, Better Man, Teen Spirit, Come As You Are, Lithium, Heart Shaped Box, Man In the Box, Down In a Hole, Rooster, Would?, Outshined, Black Hole Sun, Plush, and Interstate Love Song to all be in the top 40. I would have guessed Teen Spirit #1 too. 

Any of those #1? Probably not based on the OP. 

Other guesses : Longview, Basket Case, Welcome to Paradise, 1979, Tonight Tonight, Disarm, Today, Bullet with Butterfly Wings. 

Interesting question.   If I had to guess songs that might make the top 5--I'd probably have to go with--I might include the following choices.  I'm not going to rank them because I would have guessed Smells like Teen Spirit at 1--and the OP already said that was wrong.

You might have a point. While I have satellite radio--I hardly ever listen to that station. I just assumed that because Satellite radio came out in the 2000's-- that any station translating the biggest rock hits from the 90's would have to integrate the biggest alternative hits from that decade. I listed to a ton of Kroq in the 90's--so my list is probably based on my experience there--which probably makes your assessment about my guesses correct.

Under the bridge was 12 or 13. Somewhere around there.

The countdown was on Lithium so its grunge/alt only. 

Probably something by Pavement.  Or Neutral Milk Hotel.
