Might be a week or two early since training camps just started but I remember seeing topics on some lesser known names last year that really gaining value. Most notably for me was Tyrell Williams and Jalen Richard, read a couple blurbs on them and figured their better adds then some of the other last roster spot guys I had. Richard helped me get a trade done and tyrell was very helpful after losing Allen.

A couple guys I like that I'm watching are Ryan switzer and Noah brown. Dez is #1 and Beasley is a decent #2 but I think switzer could be better then Beasley if given the chance and Brown is very raw but has the amazing size so maybe he can show enough to overtake Terrance Williams and be the second outside WR.

also watching Demarcus Robinson of the chiefs. Lost their main proven WR. Hill gets the gig now but you still need more then him at WR. Conley is the bigger name but Robinson make a huge value jump.

Who else are you guys watching that most people haven't heard of but might want to add before their names start popping up during preseason games

2016 udfa Chester Rogers is getting reps as the number 3 receiver in Indy after some ota hype and preseason hype last year.  With moncrief in his final year of his contract, there could be an opening at wr2 next year, or sooner if moncrief's injury history continues, and the other pass catchers are fairly limited.   Doyle and gore can both catch the ball, but this is hardly a crowded receiver situation, so if he breaks out his upside is really only limited by his own ability.

Nice topic.

I like the suggestion of Demarcus Robinson.  If you fast forward the Chiefs to 2018, we could be looking at an offense led by gunslinger Patrick Mahomes.  Demarcus Robinson has quietly impressed the team, and he could eventually emerge.

De'Angelo Henderson is turning heads in Denver.  He has the type of talent that could translate well in the NFL.  Don't sleep on him.

Staying in the AFC West, Raiders' receiver Ishmael Zamora has NFL talent.  He is currently buried, but as an essentially free addition to your dynasty roster, I like him as a stash-and-see player.

While much has been made about Joe Williams as a potential starter over Carlos Hyde in San Francisco, keep an eye on UDFA RB Matt Breida.  He is an explosive back who could find a role in what promises to be an improved offense.

We have seen some great college-QB-converted-to-NFL-receiver success stories (Edelman, Pryor, Meredith).  While he is not exactly an out-of-nowhere prospect (3rd round pick), I like Braxton Miller to be the next to make the transition from college QB to NFL standout WR.  Miller has elite athletic skills and a high football IQ.

Mike clay talked about this the other day.

Andre Williams appears to be the main backup to Melvin Gordon, and people have all but written him off.  He won't have standalone value without an injury but he's worth a roster spot in a lot of leagues.

Chad Williams isn't totally under the radar but he could emerge with a role in Arizona sooner rather than later.

Malachi Dupre could be a year away from relevance in green bay if you have the bench apps spots.

Dezmin Lewis in Buffalo's a deep name to know (if he can survive this offseason). He was a 7th Round pick in 2015 but faces very little competition next year: Brandon Tate's a FA and will be 30 same for Rod Streater, Philly Brown's a 1 year contract for 2017, and Sammy Watkins is also a FA w/his option declined by Buffalo.

Looking ahead to 2018 their WR Corps projects as: Andre Holmes, Zay Jones (Going into Year 2), Dezmin Lewis (if he sticks), Daikel Shorts, and Brandon Reilly.

Interesting take.  I think Branden Oliver is the likely primary backup to Gordon, and Oliver will have some stand alone value due to his receiving ability.  Andre Williams could get some reps as a short-yardage specialist, but I don't expect much more than that.  I think it is possible Williams does not even make the final 53-man roster.  I usually respect Mike Clay's takes, but this one is curious.

Just wanted to second the Malachi Dupre mention. Jordy will be age 33 entering next season and a UFA after the '18 season.

Davante Adams is a UFA after this year. I'm not sure how the Packers' cap situation is at the moment, but I could see Adams pricing himself out of GB with another solid season.

Over the past 5 years, Brees' #3 target has averaged 68 receptions on 97 targets. Its kind of open right now as to who it will be, Fleener, Coleman, Ginn, Ingram, Kamara.

How has he been doing in TC?  Very interested in him myself
Reports I've read have been positive. I think he's a lock to be active on game day because of his ability on STs. I'm not too impressed with the WRs in front of him either outside of Jeffrey( who hasn't been an iron man so far in his career) Mathews they seem down on and is a FA after this season. T.Smith is nothing to write home about imo and Agholor is getting close to bust status.

I think if Adams has another good season they are more likely to cut Cobb where they can save a big chunk of money against the cap but obviously that's just a guess

I'll keep beating the drum (though it's a small one) but if fox / Loggains can utilize him right, Tarik Cohen should be really fun to watch. He might be nothing more than a gimmick, but he looks like tyreek Hill and he's a helluva lot cheaper.

Running back Tarik Cohen is allergic to defenders.

Coach John Fox coined a new word Sunday in discussing the fourth-round rookie out of North Carolina A&T: evadability. Through two practices, it’s clear why “The Human Joystick” is one of his nicknames. He can stop on a dime, and he can do it two or three times in one play. It’s the product of great vision and the type of quick-twitch movement ability general manager Ryan Pace loves.

Cohen’s speed also stands out big time, which is expected in drills that don’t involve live tackling. He could be a very dangerous weapon the Bears’ screen game this year. The challenge for coaches is to develop enough versatility in Cohen so that teams can’t be sure a screen is coming when Cohen is in the game. That means making sure he’s a capable pass blocker and runner between the tackles.

In this setting, at least, Cohen is really fun to watch. He took a screen Sunday and darted through the second level in a blink.

His size worries me, but I may have been too quick to dismiss him.  Cohen certainly is a lot of fun to watch.

Agreed. If he played like he does and was 10-20 lbs heavier he wouldn't be nearly as cheap. But he appears to be about the same weight as tyreek Hill. Granted Hill isn't expected to run up the middle or block.

This might really be a reach, but Tanner Gentry (WR - Wyoming) is reported to be turning heads at Bears camp.
This x10.  Dude runs super smooth routes all day long.

My favorite flyer to take this year so far.  Kevin White is useless at this point and they have to be thinking to move on without him going forward.  Meredith seemed solid last year and very worthy of WR2 status so that's good for the offense.  Other than that you have guys like Wheaton who, as a Steelers fan, I can tell you sucks.  Kendall Wright who is decent but not much of a hurdle, and Cruz who I hope returns to old Cruz cause he's a fun guy to root for.  There is a clear path to play time and to grow with their QB of the future in Mr. Biscuit.

The other one I like is Krishawn Hogan on the Cardinals.  He's a different body build than JJ Nelson, John and Jaron Brown which makes him a successor to Larry possibly?  He's super unknown but he's 6'2" 222 who had a great combine.

Hogan, along with Gentry, are very "Out of nowhere" types.

Some talk that pumphrey is passing Smallwood in Philly for third on the depth chart.  I'm not a big Blount guy to begin with, and sproles is really old.  I know he's small, but all indications are the eagles love this kid. He could be fantasy relevant as soon as mid season.

What's the word on Robert Davis WR Redskins?
I think Davis will be a stash- Pryor, Doctson, and Ryan grant getting the news right now. Davis likely will be p-squad but with Pryor on a 1 yr deal he could have a path to playing time in a year.

 he's another talented Smurf.

Back in spring in lead up to NFL draft/rookie fantasy drafts I would try and watch video on players and when I would get tired head I'd switch over to Cohen. Funnest video's of a player I can recall, literally would pick me up and bring a smile to my face.

Not a lot of RB's his size have ever achieved RB1 status. Sproles and Lionel James from way back are only two I can recall but with some talk I'd read about using him as a weapon, in the slot, third downs, etc, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility he can be a Duke Johnson, Riddick, Chris Thompson type who contributes enough in the receiving game alone to merit RB3 type of production.

From a pure football perspective I'm kind of excited to see the night and day different styles of him and Howard and thee impact it has on defenses with their totally different styles.

i think he's a mid-season waiver wire target. IIRC, he's really suited for the #3/slot role. there is a logjam for that #3 spot. i'm inclined to wait for the more established players to audition fail due to injury or general suckitude. gentry should get called up from the practice squad mid-season and get a shot down the stretch when the bears are bottom of their division.

It will be interesting to see Krishawn and Chad Williams compete for what could be an important role as early as this season.

Devante Mays deserves mention in this thread.  Mays is a 230 pound thumper with impressive athleticism.  Keep an eye on him in Camp.  Ty Montgomery has bulked up to 224, and Coach McCarthy is gushing calling him a stud.  Still, if Montgomery doesn't show improvement in pass protection, he could give way to the crowd of rookies nipping at his heels.  Mays suffered through an injury-riddled senior campaign and was drafted behind Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones, but he could turn out to be the best of the trio.  Draft Analyst Lance Zierlein praised Mays as having the highest ceiling of the three Green Bay rookies:  "To me, Mays has the highest upside of the three backs.  Mays is built like a truck and possesses a 40.5-inch vertical leap. He's more athletic than Williams and much more powerful than Jones. If Mays had made more than 37 carries this season, he might have gone ahead of both of his new teammates."

Trevor Davis is a name I am keeping on all my watch lists.  2nd year guy, so the learning curve is smaller, and he's got the jets to create points from scratch.  None of the GBP WR's have been a model of consistency, every year it's someone new popping and part of that is Rodgers not caring one iota about who gets the glory, he just throws to who's open.  If Davis gets a chance due to injury or regression he could surprise.

He may have too many guys in front of him in Tampa but I wouldn't be surprised to see Chris Godwin emerge as a very good fantasy WR this year.

Everyone was on Dupre in the deep drafts I was in this offseason. I nabbed him in a few but still like Deangelo Yancey's profile a lot better.

Actually Agholor is getting the most buzz outside of Jeffery IMO. I like Hollins but he's basically Kenny Stills. If Jordan Matthews gets (stays) hurt, Agholor will have a decent year.

I like a guy that is really getting no love right now....T.J. Logan, Cardinals.

If your not familiar, check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYJR20Hxdcw&t=81s

He is a classic, stash on the Taxi squad hail marry

What do we know:

A. David Johnson is a stud, so the opportunity is there if Johnson goes down

B. He has the talent to produce in a high speed offense

C. Ahead of him he as Chris Johnson (old, and injury prown), and Ellington (can't stay on the field).

My gut tells me he will make some big plays in the pre-season and start to get on the dynasty radar. Even if Johnson stays healthy, C. Johnson and Ellington are likely gone in 2018 and Logan will be a valuable back-up. Also if your league awards points for returns, he is looking like the kick/punt returner this year.

He is a great stash on the taxi squad player, with the hope you can trade him to the D. Johnson owner for more later. I have added him to the Taxi squad in most leagues.

Taquan "Smoke" Mizzell - RB - BAL. Never really played up to the hype that he came into UVA with, but still has some talent. Depth chart in BAL pretty open with Dixon's injury and Woodhead an injury waiting to happen.

Elijah McGuire will initially play a reserve role for the lowly Jets behind Bilal Powell and Matt Forte, but he has similar qualities to the backs ahead of him.  Like Powell and Forte, McGuire is a very good receiver out of the backfield, displaying soft hands and a developed route tree.  Forte is on the wrong side of 30, and Powell will turn 29 in October.  The opportunity is there for McGuire to grow into a starting role for the Jets.

Xavier Grimble is currently the #2 TE in Pittsburgh and could contend for #1, he's got real athletic ability. Likewise Erik Swoope for Indianapolis and Rico Gathers in Dallas.

Not quite out of nowhere, but Javorius Allen could return to relevance with the injury to Kenneth Dixon.

Noah Brown has huge wingspan at WR in Dallas plus Terrance Williams is never going to set the world on fire and after that it's various smurf-like possession guys like Beasley and Switzer, so there is an opportunity for another big receiver to emerge oppose Dez.

Gillislee is getting all the love in New England but I wouldn't be surprised if Rex Burkhead has relevance, he looked good as a starting back for Cincy at the end of last season.

Nick Boyle appears to be the last man standing in Baltimore at TE.  I know they just signed Larry Donnell but I don't see him as a major hurdle.  Max Williams is probably the only one there long termin his way if Williams recovers fully from his injury and surgery.

Boyle actually blocks, too, I think. They're going to need someone that helps that line because of all of the injuries right now.

I'm keeping an eye on jace billingsly in Detroit- shifty slot guy that lit up preseason last year. If he can get by Kenny g for the wr3 spot he could be a decent ppr guy.

Yeah I've read a lot how Agholor looks like a different player this year. Not sure I'm ready to buy that until I see how he looks in an actual game. As a dynasty owner I'm starting to lose faith in him.

I think Stills is a pretty good player but I think their teams view their roles differently. While it's true they both are deep ball catchers it seems the Eagles were getting Hollins time in the slot.(Maybe as a replacement for Mathews next year?)
