IDP Dynasty Roster Help - LB (1 Viewer)

RUNHARD

Footballguy
I am in my 10th + year in a dynasty league and I just do not have time to keep up on all the news and future trends with the demands of Real Life.  I honestly have no idea on any IDP's but will start with LB's since that is where I feel I am the weakest.

League background....16 team dynasty,,,can keep 40 players each year.  We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1PK, 3 DL, 4 LB, and 4 DB.

LB scoring....

  • Tackles 1.5pts each
  • Assists 0.75 pts each
  • Sacks 3.00 pts each
  • Forced Fumbles 2.00 pts each
  • Fumble Recoveries 2.00 pts each
  • Interceptions 3.00 pts each
  • TD's scored 6.00 pts each
  • Safeties 2.00 pts each
So I am open to trading any of my LB's to add depth.  If possible could someone just comment on each rostered LB and advise his rank (LB1 1-16, LB2 17-32, etc...) and short term and long term outlook.  I have a feeling most guys you might say DROP that player and get a prospect.

My LB Roster:

  • Alexander, Kwon TBB
  • Armstrong, Ray-Ray SFO
  • Bostic, Jon IND LB
  • Emanuel, Kyle LAC LB
  • Harold, Eli SFO LB
  • Hightower, Dont'a NEP LB
  • Jackson, Edwin IND LB (IR)
  • Klein, A.J. NOS LB
  • Pullard, Hayes LAC LB
  • Te'o, Manti NOS LB
  • Wilson, Damien DAL LB

Thanks

Here are my two cents:

  • Alexander, Kwon TBB - stud LB1.  Must start every week.  Young and will continue to be a top LB.  Build around him.
  • Armstrong, Ray-Ray SFO - LB3/4 type.  Will put up a few tackles a game but competes with Bowman/Foster so he gets the scraps.
  • Bostic, Jon IND LB - has opportunity right now due to injuries.  Will see a lot of playing time due to terrible team around him.  Will put up decent stats as a volume guy only but isn't a great talent.  Good in the short term as depth/bye week filler LB4ish
  • Emanuel, Kyle LAC LB - played about 1/3 of the snaps in week 1.  Probably needs another injury to get any meaningful snaps.  Jatavus Brown sucks up all the tackles so there isn't much but scraps left over.
  • Harold, Eli SFO LB - a notch below Armstrong and only played about 1/3 of the snaps.  Not much to see here.
  • Hightower, Dont'a NEP LB  -  currently injured with a sprained knee.  I have never been a huge fan but seems to have solid games.  LB3 type.  Can be moved or dropped if need space.
  • Jackson, Edwin IND LB (IR) -  done for the year due to being on IR.  I liked his situations going into the year but the IR designation came as a surprise.  If you have the space to keep him fine but if you need to jettison him I wouldn't hesitate.
  • Klein, A.J. NOS LB - solid depth guy.  LB3-ish with some LB2 type weeks possible.
  • Pullard, Hayes LAC LB - Played about 1/3 of the snaps but put up some decent numbers.  I don't know much about him
  • Te'o, Manti NOS LB - two down LB'er with lots of competition for playing time.  In this deep of a league he probably has some value but not much.
  • Wilson, Damien DAL LB - played less than 25% of the snaps.  Not much value.

Thanks....

Looks like I have lots of work to do.  If you know of any sleepers let me know.

I guess I could trade Kwon Alexander to obtain some upgrades.  One owner wants him badly  Which LB's should I try to target if I trade him Kwon Alexander?

Here are his LB's:

  • Beckwith, Kendell TBB
  • Bowman, Navorro SFO
  • Brown, Blair JAC (R)
  • Collins, Jamie CLE
  • Dupree, Bud PIT
  • Hicks, Jordan PHI
  • Lee, Darron NYJ
  • Ragland, Reggie KCC
  • Reeves-Maybin, Jalen DET (R)
  • Smith, Preston WAS
  • Williamson, Avery TEN LB
Thanks

None of those are even close to Kwon's value but there are a few solid players - none I would be willing to trade Alexander for.

Some LB's worth targeting or getting if available on waivers would be:

  • Ramon Humber - Buf (doubt he is still available but you never know)
  • Nick Vigil - Cin (Huge first week and ok second week worth picking up over what you have if available)
  • Demario Davis - NYJ (lots of field time. Nothing flashy but should put up decent numbers)
  • Joe Schobert - Cle (played every snap and put up solid numbers)
  • BJ Goodsen - NYG (doubtful he is on the waivers after week 1 but he could have been)
  • AJ Klein - NO (seems to have a role and produced)
  • Mason Foster - WAS (every down back and solid producer)

Unfortunately all those LB's are on a roster.  Gally - any interest in becoming my IDP GM?   I would be able to pay you a % of the earning we earn.  :)

And would you consider trading Kwon for 2 LB's?
Are there any keeper restrictions?  Salary cap or max years able to keep?  I might be willing to go three where you can get a guy that might not help this year but has future value.  Are you in contention to win this year?

I like (in no particular order) Lee, Bowman (if you are in contention this year only), Hicks and Smith of those listed. Ragland and Reeves-Maybin as future plays.

Maybe list some of the waiver wire availability to choose from.

Not a lot on the waivers.  There are some ok boom/bust sack type guys (Orakpo, Golden) and a couple guys that could pan out with injury (Matakevich if Shazier or Williams go down).  Dylan Cole might we worth a speculative add with the injury/suspension to Cushing.  He likely won't get the job alone but he is battling Cunningham for time. Probably worth picking up in case he hits.  Probably drop Wilson (Dal).

Got offered this for Kwon Alexander:

  • Nelson, J.J. ARI WR
  • Smith, Preston WAS LB
  • Williamson, Avery TEN LB
  • Year 2018 Round 4 Draft Pick from HARD KNOCKS
Any consideration?

I wouldnt.  Not high on JJ, and those are waiver-level LBs to replace a top-3 option.

You should be able to get a solid wr2 for Kwon in most leagues that take idp seriously.
