Trump is Unfit? (1 Viewer)

Pretty telling that when asked to provide Trump's racist quotes nothing is provided by Tim or the others here.  I have long said that Trump sends out a lot of stupid tweets but I do not believe he is racist.
Because we have all seen your denial routine before. His latest s***hole comment is a perfect example. He says something blatantly racist, and his apologists either spin it into something else or deny it ever happened.  Wash, rinse, repeat.  It's boring. And pointless.

It's been explained why Trump's "####hole" comment was clearly racist over and over and over again. I did here, one of countless posts and posters and articles and journalists making essentially the same point. If you'd like to discuss it further I'm happy to do it in that thread.  This thread is apparently where we discuss our incredibly healthy and totally with-it president.

Honestly, does anybody here really want to argue with Opie, Don’t Noonan and knowledge dropper over proof of Trump’s bigotry and racism? If you do, have at it. But to me it’s like the “arguments” we used to have around here about Obama’s birth certificate. “Show us proof!” they demanded. Second grade recess reasoning, and a complete waste of time.

Doctor Declares Trump's Health Excellent, With Perfect Score on Cognitive Test
In December 2015, Dr. Harold N. Bornstein, Mr. Trump’s personal doctor, released a four-paragraph letter saying that, if elected, Mr. Trump would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.”

Dr. Jackson declined to repeat that statement, saying that it was his job to “give you my assessment of President Trump today.

“And I’m not going to make any comparisons
- NYT

What you and Trumpites are really upset about are citizens and media commenting and speculating on Trump's health and mental condition. Reality is if the man had not offered totally spurious claims about his health publicly TWICE out of two times in his life - 1. when he lied about his health to get out of Vietnam, and 2. with the insane Dr. Bornstein report which Trumpites believed - you wouldn't deal with this stuff. That's the problem with Trump, even when he has something good going on he has to lie about it, so why should people trust him on anything?

Well, not in a thread about Trump's health anyway.
I believe his intent was to flush out what will be the next source of mass hysteria since Trump passed his medical exams.  Several went back to their last resort staple of racism.  Opie asked for an unfiltered quote directly from Trump that show he is racist.  They don’t have anything, so here we are.

“The president, he and I talked,” Dr. Jackson said. “He would like to lose 10 to 15 pounds. We talked about diet and exercise a lot. He’s more enthusiastic about the diet part than the exercise part, but we’re going to do both.”
- NYT

- I'll criticize Trump all day long for golfing when he should be presidenting and for basically taking public funds for his private businesses when doing so, but let's face it golf is exercise and he does a lot of it. If this was your dad or grandfather you'd say he does a pretty good job of getting out, getting fresh air and exercise. I'm kind of surprised this didn't get mentioned by Dr. Jackson.

It's a substantive issue, but it has nothing to do with Trump's health.

Is it just me or is Trump's new health report suspicious?

Has always been listed as 6'2" but suddenly he's an inch taller.  Don't most people get shorter with old age?

He's an inch taller and just a pound under being considered obese.  Seems convenient.

The White House Dr. releases a statement on Trump's health and spells his name wrong.  I know it could have been a typo written by someone else in the WH but still odd.

Compared to other people who are suppose to be that height and weight he tends to look shorter and fatter.

The whole thing is really strange.

At 6'2", his 239 lbs. would have made him 'Obese'. And given him the highest presidential BMI since President Taft. As with everyone else on the payroll, the doctor was told what to say.

Golfing can be decent exercise but it's not that much unless you walk instead of riding a cart.  Does he ever walk a round of golf?

Just one other thought on this - about all the reports about Trump wolfing down fast food and processed junk as part of his work routine. I think some of that is actually aggrandizement by his sycophant advisors who want to project that the man is constantly moving and going and high energy and all that. - But at the White House the guy has got a premier chef and kitchen working for him. They can manage his diet according to however they or he wants. I have no doubt he's getting the best of cuisine but also excellent product and healthy diet regimen when he's at the White House. It might even be in spite of him, but they're professionals and I'm sure they're taking care of the President of the US.

That's a good point, but like I said and as is often raised he does a lot of it. I wouldn't doubt he got in 4 rounds over the holiday week just as an example.

But this thread is not about Trump’s health. Per the OP, it’s about Trump’s health being the latest example of “hysteria”.
That's not a bad point, and I see KD is driving that too. I don't mean to be rude. - eta - You can obviously discuss what you like. - I guess obviously the thrust is these anti-Trump claims were false so all other claims are false too. That's just a logical fallacy. It also overlooks that the main concerns about Trump have been behavioral not cognitive, such as narcissism and that kind of thing. I think teh fast food complaints and his weight have been more about his appearance and presidential demeanor and that kind of thing. I have to say personally I would have guessed in the ~280 lb. range myself, but I do trust Dr. Jackson.

Why is it I can find something suspicious but not claim it's true and you post that stupid emoji and then someone like you can post crap from Fox News or anything else that supports Trump and you claim it's an absolute truth but then complain that you're getting picked on by others if called out for it?

The doctor issued his statement it’s done.  How is this any different than someone doubting the legitimacy of a birth certificate?

Wait, what?  I think it's a pretty huge difference since the one was an attempt to get rid of the President.

At the moment both examples seem to be lies from Trump.

LOl  No one is doubting Trump's health because he's white.
Nice spin.  The color of the skin had NOTHING to do with it.  I guarantee if his name was different and his origin and formative years been more easily verified it would never have been questioned.

Yelling racist is such an easy cop out.

I have a question- in terms of age of all presidents, where does Trump rank? Is he the oldest? Will he be at the end of his 1st or 2nd term?

I can buy that he passed coginitive tests. But there is no way that he is physically healthy in terms of his blood work and cardiovascular fitness.
I have questions about his I.Q. and his cognition.  I have greater questions about his E.Q.  As for his cardio fitness he is as soft and doughy a man as I have seen in some time.

Which anti Trump claim was false?

I don’t recall anyone saying he couldn’t pass a simple test like this.

I trust the doctor...but as in the past he releases what the White House tells him too. I don’t think the numbers are as was stated.  Unless he grew an inch.

But...had he failed the test you'd be on board....right?

I really couldn't see you questioning the validity of the test if the results had been different just as others would not have questioned the Electoral College had HRC won the election.

Posting a difference of opinion = "fishing trip"......typical
Did you see that test?  If Trump failed I'd hope you and anyone else who has ever supported Trump would have some serious concerns.

CNN fat shaming Trump

They are going to have a field day with Oprah who is famous for being fat and out of shape and needing to lose pounds.

That's ok to say too - CNN has set the bar for us

I trust the doctor, but it's unlikely he performed height and weight measurements. Trump has earned the doubt.

YOU VOTED FOR A MAN WHO FAT SHAMES ALL THE TIME.

How can you make this your argument and not see the hypocrisy?

The color of his skin had EVERYTHING to do with it.  Why didn't Trump ask to see any other Presidents' birth certificates?

I don't watch CNN but I agree with the broader point here.  Fat-shaming Trump is dumb.  He doesn't care and won't see the jokes, but fat people will. That's silly, we should do better. Plenty to ridicule about Trump without getting into his obesity.

But disagree that we should let CNN or anyone else set the bar for ourselves personally.  That's a terrible argument. I don't go around lying to old people to get them riled up for my own financial gain just because Fox News does it. I don't cultivate a culture of rampant sexual assault and harassment just because Fox News does it. I don't cover for my friends if they cheat on their pregnant wives with porn stars and then pay them hush money just because Fox News does it. Admittedly I might struggle with that last one. Thankfully, my friends don't put me in that position because they're not the scum of the earth.

Reagan was the oldest sitting President - 77 years, 11 months when he left office.

We’ve elected 3 US Presidents who were older than 65 at their inauguration: Harrison - 65, Reagan - 69, Trump - 70 (now 71.)

He’s one of the oldest, but he’s also one of the richest.  This may give him a natural health advantage -best doctors, food, nutritionists, etc.
Ok you have to admit his age is a big factor. It's his own team that has sent out reports and pics of him with taco bowls and Big Macs to show how hard working he is. And while the slurring and wandering off and erratic behavior is maybe explainable let's at least concede that it's worrisome in a man of his age. Not 25th Amendment worrisome but definitely something that should be addressed. I'll give Trump credit for doing that with this report, but at least realize there's reason behind the concern.
