As mentioned, the situation is so strange. First, the only garage door with that was his? What are the odds of that? Not accusing anyone of anything. Just what are the odds that the only black driver is assigned that garage, in Alabama, the week after all hell breaks loose across the country and NASCAR demands removal of the confederate flag??

Then, nobody, anywhere in the garage....in ALL of NASCAR thought to mention it had been there previously prior to taking it to the FBI?? It took the FBI to "find" that??

Seems like when this was discovered, it could have been quickly resolved and explained with some communication between drivers, teams and officials.

Yes it's very possible.  There is no road course at talledega.

So you propose when stalls were assigned last week the someone between then and now redid it?

Have no idea what the second part says.  I’m saying that at some point between (at least) last Fall and this past race that someone from NASCAR at least checked on and went into the garage stalls to verify they were still in good order and were able to be used for that race.  This would be especially true if there hasn’t been any race/event there in 9 months.

As another poster asked above, if this were in fact a coincidence, it’s roughly a 2% chance that he would have been randomly assigned that particular stall. A week after the banning of the Confederate flag and during all the current unrest.  In Alabama.  There are coincidences, and then there are enormous coincidences.

He was set to test a Ganassi Indycar next week. And also stated he was open to do a full season of indycar road and street races. For the first time I heard him say his wife might let him try the Indianapolis 500 as he feels the new windscreen has greatly improved the safety. Get well soon JJ.

The NBC commentator group and the way they display the standings are suboptimal.

The vertical column on the left side of the screen is much better.

Left/right eye movement is more natural than up/down.

Not a good showing for Goodyear.  Glad to see Hamlin climb out of the car. He hit hard. Looked a little wobbly though.

Aggressive setups and no practice are as much to blame as Goodyear.

90 degree turns really have the tams push the camber settings.

Sort of a jump the shark move, but WTH this year, I think underglow for the All Star Race at Bristol will be fun to see.

How is that going to work? Will they be racing in the dark?

The Daytona road course should be an interesting replacement for Watkins Glen, especially with no practice.

Bristol does tend to be darker.  I suspect it'll be easier to see during cautions and if one of the cars that has the underglow wins, I could see them dimming the lights for the burnout.

The Open was a lot more fun to watch then the actual race. Seemed everyone was in a "be nice today"  :drive: mood during the race for a million.

The race wasn't long enough for the second groove to come in.  This and the lack of lapped cars made it a parade.

Did not like the glowing rear ends at all. Reminded me of the glow puck.
