CNN website is an anti-Trump hatefest (2 Viewers)

I don't read the CNN website much but as far as the TV content, I have to agree with OP. And I'm a liberal.

That said, this administration has been an utter disaster thus far on just about every level. So those claims of 91% percent negative coverage for Trump or whatever aren't because of bias, they're because 91% of the stuff that has gone on in the past year has reflected poorly on the President.

Remember, "objective" reporting doesn't mean giving 50% good news and 50% bad news about a President because that's "fair coverage".

It means telling the truth, regardless of any personal or network bias towards the subject.

The right views CNN as the left views Breitbart. That’s how it will be for the foreseeable future.

They also see FoxNews as the bastion of balance and decency.  It's always important to consider the source and remember who's making the comment/judgement.  The above is more a reflection of where people start on the sliding scale rather than the sources being judged.

I don’t think so. I think most are well aware that FOX tells the other side.

It's not the worst, but they have issues from time to time.  Maybe try BBC and/or Reuters instead.  I've been happy with them and the opinion stuff at BBC can be hilarious.
Reuters is probably the most reliable at this point.  It’s how the news used to be.  AP is also still solid.

The other side? Fox only tells one side. When the Porter scandal was top news a couple days ago, not one word about it in the block from Carlson to Ingram while it was a leading story on all other cable and traditional broadcast news networks.

What was the Porter scandal?

I still go to CNN from time to time (mainly out of habit) for a quick glance at headlines or news.  My biggest problem with it in the era of Trump is how they now seem to pass off their "Analysis:" and "Opinion:" articles as main news headlines.

The media are panicking because they’re desperate to cover up their role in the spying scandal. It was timed, strategic, media leaks from swamp rats that allowed the Obama/Hillary machine to spy on the Trump team. Without media complicity, we’d be in a far different place

News that one of Trump's inner circle has beaten two wives (at least one of which appears to be pretty severe) and they kept him on even after they knew about it isn't hysteria. On the other hand, it's entirely possible that you don't know what the word means.

Maybe the problem is that you've decided what you're going to discover about CNN and are looking for that instead of the objective truth? Which is ironic.
An anti Trumper could come along and post this very thing about Fox news and they'd be correct

So, why can't someone else say it about CNN and also be correct?

Because he objectively got something wrong. He confused a list of most-read stories with CNN editorial decisions.

Good one comrade.
That you are clueless who John Kelly is? That you think he is a former Buffalo QB? LOL

Amazing that a guy who calls himself knowledge dropper doesn't know who Trump's Chief of Staff is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_F._Kelly

John Francis Kelly (born May 11, 1950) is an American government official and retired general serving as the current White House Chief of Staff for President Donald Trump, previously serving as U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security in the same administration.

This doesn't even make sense.  Is he suggesting that if the media would have covered these events differently that Trump would have lost?

I think this is kind of a neat idea. We'll see.

I'll tell you what kind of drives me crazy about CNN (aside from some hosts like Cuomo and Jones who to me seem over the top partisan, which is not helpful) is that their Trump proxies, except for maybe Jason Miller, like Jack Kingston are just so completely ridiculous. So whoever it is they become a punching bag. The Trump POV is terribly represented.

But the problem, with the Bolded, is Trump's administration. It is an unimaginable #### show every single week.

  • This week: Rob Porter, followed by the 2nd government shutdown.
  • Last week: the Trump Defense Memo.
  • 2 weeks ago: Trump fired Mueller but got faced down in his own office.
  • 3 weeks ago: The first government shutdown and the president completely mucked up negotiations by constantly sending out the wrong signals.
  • 4 weeks ago: he calls key foreign nations "####holes", and it turns out he paid off a porn star and then his lawyer constantly lied about it and covered it up.
  • 5 weeks ago: the revelations of "Fire and Fury" & Bannons betray Trump and Trump makes Bannon a non-person in the movement he built.
  • 6 weeks ago: it was freaking New Years.
Seriously, if you're the guy writing headlines at CNN put yourself in his shoes. What the hell are you writing that makes shinola out of that?
Saints, you are one of the more intellectual posters here. Disappointing to see you fall for the useful idiots bait.

Fire and fury is an admitted fraud by the author. He trolled the MSM into thinking they had a gotcha, only to embarrass them when invited on their shows.

####holes was never proven to be true. And even if it was said, it was in private. About countries that literally #### in holes.

The government shutdown was clearly the fault of crying Chuck. Every poll conducted blamed the Dems. Which is accurate, they held the budget hostage to immigration issues.

Trump never "fired" Mueller. He allegedly "considered" it.

The Nunes memo exposed the Obama administration for illegaly spying on political opponents during a presidential election and afterwards.

Nobody cares about Rob Porter. That is a fabricated story to distract from the fact that a dozen Obama DOJ and FBI officials have been fired or resigned in disgrace.

You say you will respect IG Horowitz. I look forward to you keeping your word.

Thanks for the information.  I saw a gray haired guy last night during Olympics.  He seems like kind of a big deal.  He looks like Lute Olson.  I think his name is Pence?   Is he involved in any of this Russia stuff?

As a former Republican who only watched Fox News when Trump came on the political scene it became so obvious that he was a lying narcissist, a racist bigot, and Fox began to use biased irrational logic to make excuses for Trump I had to leave Fox to save my sanity. Needed to find a place that exposed his faults so CNN works for me. Are they over the top at times yes but I turn them off until I get disgusted by a yet another irrational facebook post by a Trump supporter and get my fix by turning again to CNN although have been watching more MSNBC of late.

nothing worse than cable news, from either side

the news takes 30 mins.  Commentary takes 23hours 30mins.

you forgot to highlight this part...that often delivers four times as many stories per hour as its competitors —
My dad was cheap. Growing up, we didn’t get Oreos; we got Hydrox. I don’t know how many people know what a Hydrox is, but let me recount the horror of this Crying Game cookie.

The outside packaging looked enough like Oreos that you felt you knew what you were getting. They came in plastic racks, with individual divots to keep each cookie firmly nestled in its slot. The cookies themselves looked so much like an Oreo, that you’d probably never notice they weren’t... until you tasted them. The chocolate cookie had to have been created by sweeping the floor of a sawmill, throwing that into a metal vat with a 64 pack of burnt sienna chinese Crayola knock-off crayons and having toothless hillbillies yell racial epithets at the vat until the crayons melted. The “cream” in the middle was like old school Colgate white toothpaste, before they added the mint flavoring. Gritty and unsatisfying (the title of my sex tape.)

As a kid, growing up with almost zero snack foods in the house, I cannot adequately explain what a horrendous mind-rape these cookies were. Eating one was like finally getting a chance to kiss Scarlett Johansson. You close your eyes, lean in, tumescent with anticipation, and make contact. Something is off. Open your eyes and realize you are tongue-darting Satan’s bunghole.

you, my friend, are happily mowing down the Hydrox of the news world.

This is complete nonsense and you should be reported for trying to circumvent the language filter.  This post is 3% facts, well played.
